    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    In this 2017 video I show you how to set up the Tetra Whisper Air Pump for 2-10 gallons.
    [CC] available. So you don't have to listen to my weirdly quite voice and the annoying repeating of the word "thing" lol.
    You don't need the same air stone bar as me or the same check valve or tubing, I just went with the cheapest things I could find. In the video I showed two different air stone bars. The first one didn't fit in the tank so that's why I showcased a different one in the tank at the end of the video.

    I don't recommend getting the airline tubing I got off Amazon (listed above^). It says that it's standard size, but it's really not. The opening is way too small. I recommend getting tubing in-stores so you can make sure to get a size that can fit over things more easily. Or maybe try this Amazon one that has better reviews www.amazon.com...

    *Sorry I kept calling the air control valve a "thing". Also, sorry the audio is really quiet.* Subtitles are an option. Links are in the description⬆⬆⬆ *Also, here👇 are some ANSWERS to the most asked questions.*
    *Question>.* Do you need to have a Check Valve?
    *Answer>.* No, a check valve is not necessary for the pump to work. It's for stopping any water from getting into the air pump. The inside of air pumps are not water proof, so it would be good to have one in case water from the fish tank were to siphon up the tube and enter the air pump, which is very possible especially when turning off the air pump. If you want to risk not having a check valve, then make sure your air pump is placed above the tank somewhere and have the airline tubing hang down making U shape between the air pump and the tank. That might keep the water from getting into the air pump. But I recommend just getting a cheap little check valve so you won't have to buy a bran new air pump if something were to happen.
    *Question>.* What does the Air Pump come with?
    *Answer>.* It come's with the air pump, the air control valve, and some instructions. The things you need to buy separately are: Airline Tubing, Air Stone or Bubble wand or Sponge Filter or you can just put the tubing in the water with nothing attached, and a Check valve if you want.
    *Question>.* Does the Air Pump make any noise?
    *Answer>.* Yes, It makes a small buzzing or vibrating noise. That's why it's called the Whisper Air pump and not the Completely Silent Air Pump. It can be louder out in the open or on a hard surface or if the valves are touching something. I keep mine on the floor behind a stand, so I can't really hear it at all.
    *Question>.* How come no bubbles are coming out?
    *Answer>.* Well, there could be a few reasons why bubbles aren't coming out of your Tubing or Air Stone.(1). The air flow control valve could be completely twisted shut preventing any air from the air pump getting into the tank.(2). The tubing could be clogged somehow, maybe with water.(3). Air could be exiting from somewhere on the tube.(4). Your bubble wand or air stone might not be soaked in the water long enough for it to have softened up and open the pores in which the air exits.(5). Maybe your air pump isn't strong enough for the size bubble wand you have.

      Thank you so, so much for this video. My tank has been needing better oxygenated lately, and I finally got to purchase the supplies I needed. The instruction were very minimal for the Air pump and I was upset about that, but your video made everything so much easier and quick to understand. Thank you!!!!!!!!! Lots of love from my betta, and four guppies ♥️♥️♥️

      Right???? I feel like all the extra stuff should be included on the box. Cause most people including myself will assume that everything needed is there. My friend gave me a 20 gallon tank a couple weeks ago & today (3/28/2021) I finally got around to setting it up. He gave me a filter & water heater but I went to Petco bought both brand new / newer models. Also got gravel, fish food, bottle of safe start for the water & of course a few fish. Only to get home & realize I forgot an air pump!!!
      Now I’d I didn’t google a video to see how this air pumped looked & worked. I had no idea about all the extra stuff needed like the tubing, the air stone & the check value. I figured all of it would come together in the box! Thankfully 😅 I won’t have forget another thing needed for the tank / fish safety / well being. Now all I’ll need is decor which I already ordered a few things from Amazon & they’re on the way!

    I just spent the last couple months setting up and stocking my 55 gallon tank. I had a whisper air pump however this past weekend the airline disconnected from the pump over night. The water drained from my tank onto the floor in my living room through the disconnect line and in the morning the tank was empty and all my fish died.
    That was disappointing and devastating. I was so upset and pissed if at the same time.

    Is that a 30 cm air stone ? It seems to go well with that size pump

    I love how you set up the sponge filter. I'm gonna get one of those and that long air stone when I upgrade to a bigger tank.

      I got mine on Amazon. But you also might be able to find some at petstores or fishstores. If you look at air stone wands on Amazon, just make sure you know the measurements before buying.
      Your very welcome.🙂

    I have a question...is it 100% necessary to put in a check valve and an airstone?

  • @robertweekes5783

    I have a simple check valve that looks the same on both sides, except one side says *OUT* with an arrow - the out side goes into the tank, right?

    • @AnimalLoverChanL
      @AnimalLoverChanL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I believe you should have the OUT side of the valve facing the tank. And I think you can blow with your mouth through the valve to check which side the air goes out of.😉

    Can you use the same air pump for 2 tanks? Sorry if that’s a stupid question, trying to figure it all out

    • @AnimalLoverChanL
      @AnimalLoverChanL  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's definitely not a stupid question. You can use the same air pump for two tanks. You just need a T or Y connector. In this newer video,th-cam.com/video/AU5Wu8_uniw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yoerIpjJoOCIXB2t I explain how to use the T connector. I'm not sure whether a Y or a T connector is better for splitting between two tanks. You may just have to figure out what works and what doesn't. And if there isn't enough air flow going into either tank. You may need an air pump that is made for more gallons.

    So when you turn down your "air control thing" is there another way for that unused air to escape or will it just blow out seals?
