    I like that Turkish has all these different names for relations, just like my mother tongue (Bengali). I feel it adds context and helps others easily understand who I'm talking about. For example, if I talk about my aunt in English, I could mean anyone from teyze to hala to yenge and more, whereas if I say teyzem then you immediately know I'm talking about my mother's sister and if I say halam then you know it refers to my father's sister.

      probably has a lot to do with the cultures :) in czechia we tend to have small families so we don't use so many different words for family members (they definitely exist but no one uses them and we don't even know them)

      This word does exist in Italian too - and I guess in many languages -. It is "consuocero/consuocera"

      @Kheliks ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Turkish traditional family relations are very close and strong. According to Turkish Law, dünürs not relative each other but in social reality, de facto they claim ''we are relatives'' and have close bounds in most families.... we can say ''If you choose to married with someone (has traditional values) then its like you choose to marry with his/her extensive family too.''

    Bir düzeltme yapmak istiyorum. Kayın, kayınço ve kayınbirader aynı anlama geliyor olsa da kadınlar kayınço veya kayınbirader demezler, kayın derler, erkeklerse kayınbirader veya kayınço der. Biraz cinsiyetçi ama toplumda olan bu.

    Kardeş çocukları birbirlerinin karı-kocalarına yengeyle enişte demiyor galiba, yaşınız ilerdeyse siz de benim gibi kendinizden küçük olanlara gelin damat deyin. Yaklaşık 30 sene hep anan baban yaşında yenge-eniştelere alışınca o saatten sonra kendinden küçüklere yenge enişte demek biraz ters geliyor insana.

    Kelime yerine sözcük,
    isim yerine ad,
    çocuğa sahip yerine çocuğu olan gibi.

      I don’t agree with you. You think that because turkish is your native language. Her speaking rate is perfect for me as a beginner. You think Easy german is faster than easy turkish because (perhaps) german is not your native language. I’ve also seen lots of comments like “you speak too fast” even in super easy turkish videos. 🤔
