      LOL< I still have a Mustang V.3 new in the box from when they first came out. I used it twice. Needless to say, I didn't like it and I absolutely can not stand Kemper or Axe. I'm an old dude still stuck on valve amps only. My needs are very simple as I don't do 1/100th of what Shane does. Like the man said, use what works for you and leave the rest for other players. I hear a difference in digital vs valve. Some say I'm 100% wrong. Maybe I am??? It's just what I know and what I love.

      I found him online cause he did a Sean Costello Mustang patch video which I loved. Sean was local to me and a buddy, so I was surprised to see someone on the otherside of the world geeking out on his amazing tone he had. And Shane really nailed the patch.

    I would love something like a Kemper but for now I'll have to put up with my humble little rig: A parts-caster Strat
    into a Fender Frontman 25R amp, oh and a Digitech RP360 multi fx used in stomp mode to give me a few effects
    at my feet. You've probably guessed right, I'm definitely no professional lol. I just like picking up a guitar and playing
    a few licks indoors and maybe the occasional jam session with mates.
    Does it make me happy? Yes definitely, I wouldn't be without it. Love watching your channel Shane, It's the best 🎸👍

    Shane, you do a lot of reviews and studio work and a quality modeling probably make sense to support those needs. There is nothing like a real amp for live playing but there is a place for a modeling amp and using it for your purpose makes sense. I appreciate your honest and balanced approach. Some of the best players out there only use those Kemper amps. So enjoy learning it and using it where it makes sense in your studio. Take Care

    Step 2 would be getting a Fender Tonemaster FR-10 or FR-12 for live performance. I always liked the modeler/profilers for recorded tones, but they felt bad in band situations, until I got an FR-10. Just having the active eq in a guitarist friendly Treble Mid Bass amp configuration has made a world of difference, and it sounds great with every modeler or analog DI amp replacement I've paired it with.

    Good one mate, reckon you're being very humble re your playing; it's great.
    I recently had a significant career move/celebration and had promised myself a Kemper head when it was all done. In the end I finished up sticking with Amplitube 5 and instead buying myself a Fender Clapton signature model to pair with a LP Epiphone/Gibson Custom Shop '59 (awesome guitars BTW, super happy). I reckon these days a lot of people are also playing into headphones and maintaining the domestic bliss. Would be interested in videos where you're looking at your Kemper vs amp modelling alternatives. Most of the comparisons I've seen have compared profiling.
    Amplitube seems a poverty-pack alternative, but it enables people like myself to get a reasonable idea of a huge number of components in the chain without having to physically buy every one. The industry must hate the digital solutions, but I'm keen to see how well this represents Pro-level alternatives like the Kemper

      Yet someone found out.
      He then invented firemaking himself, showed it only to people he controlled,
      and at the end a dozen or more were dead, and the 'inventor' died of hepatic failure.
      And there are Millions more of these funny comedies.

    I've been using Fender modeling amps since you first reviewed them. The Mustang amp models were great. I now play a Fender GTX and a Marshall Code. Playing in a cover these modelers cover all the bases.

    You like this more than the CaptorX?

    • @intheblues
      @intheblues  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's just different. I think the X has some great advantages when it comes to certain situations but it's also reliant on the amps so it's a bit of give and take with each unit. The captor is great for pedal demos where I need the real amp front-end. This is a quick way to get my sound without needing everything else.

      Yeah, but it's technically not a modelling amp, as it's not modelling anything specific. I know it's a distinction without a difference, but it's a distinction nonetheless. ✌️

      Katana is an all analog amp with digital effects. Reviewers often advertise it's a modeler and get people confused.

    • @shane011471
      @shane011471 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@eugenehavens Yes it might have an analog power section but as far as I know all of the different presets are all still going through a DSP first. Take the "Brown" preset for an example. I think we all know what that is trying to be. Just because it has an analog output power section does not mean that it can't be a modeling amp.

      @@eugenehavensIs there a digital amp that amplifies digitally? Afaik they all have an analog power section, and create dist/od/mod/rev digitally.

    Next on the modeling horizon: modeling pickups. Then we'll have a whole new classification of things to get into pointless circular arguments over.

    • @ViviSectia
      @ViviSectia 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No need to wait. We can start having those arguments now. Check out the Cycfi XR pickups. They're supposed to be full frequency response pickups that you shape with EQ controls to sound like any pickup but they haven't caught on. The more popular option is pickup emulator vsts and pedals that use EQ to make your pickups sound like a built in pickup or a profile you provide.
