This is such a lovely dress. Love the colors and stitch pattern. I'm so looking to making this for myself, as a tunic length! But hmm... How to measure? OK. I have a DK Light No 3 yarn that's a little thinner than another 1 I have. They revommend a 4mm hook but that size hook doesn't work well with it for me at all, so if I can use the yarn, I'm thinking of using for a more close tighter stitch, a 3.5mm and for a more drapey look, a 5mm. By the way, the yarn is called, Yarn Art Adore. Thanks for your tutorials and for being such a good teacher. 👍🏾👏🏾

Yes!!! When you make something in a square shape or rectangle and not turn your work , you will end up with an uneven neckline, it is hard to notice in the beginning, but once your yoke gets bigger and you connect it is very very noticeable, you would end up with 1 corner much lower and one higher in front and the same in the back, hard to explain it words , but hopefully it makes sense to you

Maybe you should try the hat first? It is the same stitch used and you will be able to see how your stitches are going, it is a much smaller project if you will end up frogging it.. besides ithat hat matches the dress

Hi thank you very much for this tutorial I really appreciate it please would you tell me how to calculate the number of stitches I need to work out the split between front back and sleeves stitches as I don’t know how to do that what is the formula please. I chained 48sts for my size head of 43cms If that’s not possible then how did you calculate yours for your size 94sts then 9 6 9 6 and 1 v stitch for each of the corners. Many many thanks 😊 I’m using a chunky yarn so I don’t need so many chains. Forgive me for asking I’m a beginner to crochet
I did the counting and the closest number of chains is 52. So you would have 5 v-stitches for front and back and 3 v-stitches for each shoulder and then I for each corner

If you don't turn every row the yoke will be twisted ( not much , but enough to notice ) and the pattern itself will twist too and will become more and more noticeable further down

Creating and counting the stitches is a hard process, I use a formula that is quite difficult and the formula can change depending on the stitch used
