Shah Jahan did the same to Jahangir, Jahangir did the same to Akbar but the revolts were crushed and the Kings pardoned their respective sons. Aurengzeb won so he became the King. Aurengzeb captured and retained the areas of Deccan, the hardest regions to retain. Dara was mostly restricted to the Forts in the north like Bihar, Multan etc and conducted interfaith talks. When he was declared the heir to the throne, Aurengzeb did not like that as he was the one controlling the toughest region and believed Dara was unsuitable to be the King. Aurengzeb is being judged for being a staunch Muslim in his private life but he was also a KING and had to take hard decisions. During his reign, Aurangzeb ordered the destruction of many temples and some mosques for political reasons and not for religious ones. For example, he ordered the destruction of Vishvanath Temple at Varanasi for being a centre of conspiracy against the state, and he ordered the destruction of the Jama Masjid at Golkunda after finding out that its ruler had built the mosque in order to hide revenues from the state. Ram Puniyani states that Aurangzeb was not fanatically anti-Hindu, but rather continuously adapted his policies depending on circumstances. He banned the construction of new temples, but allowed the repair and maintenance of existing temples, and even made generous donations of jagirs to many temples to gain the goodwill of his Hindu subjects. There are several firmans (orders) in his name, supporting temples and gurudwaras, including Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain, Balaji temple of Chitrakoot, Umananda Temple of Guwahati and the Shatrunjaya Jain temples, among others.

دنیا کی تاریخ ایسے عبرت ناک واقعات سے بھری پڑی ھے کہ جب تخت وتاج کے لیئے حکمرانوں نے کسی رشتے کی پرواہ نہیں کی اور باپ اور بھائی جو بھی راہ میں آ یا اسے قتل کردیا گیا ۔ ایسا ھی واقع محمد بن قاسم کے ساتھ ھوا تھا ، محمد بن قاسم اس وقت سندھ کا حاکم تھا ۔۔۔۔ کہ درباری سازشوں نے اس واپس حجاز میں بلوایا گیا تھا اور اس کا قتل کر دیا گیا تھا ، اس ایک واقع نے برصغیر کی تاریخ بدل ڈالی اور اس قتل نے صدیوں تک قتل اور نا انصافی کا سلسلہ جاری رکھا اور یہ عظیم الشان سرزمین جسے برصغیر پاک و ھند کہا جاتا ھے آ ج تک بد امنی اور نہ انصافی کی کا شکار ھے ۔
یہ ھی وجہ ھے کہ آج بھی اسکے بیشتر عوام کسمپرسی اور بے بسی کا شکار ھوکر بدترین صورتحال میں زندگی گزارنے پر مجبور ھیں اور شاید کبھی بھی ان لوگوں کی زندگیوں میں بہتری اور خوشحالی نہ آ سکے ۔ یہ قوم اتنی مایوس ھو چکی ھے کہ ۔۔۔۔ انقلاب ان سے دور جا چکا ھے ۔
