I’m not convinced by Partey at right back but if properly fit Arsenal usually look a better team with Partey in it. Odegaard, Rice, Merino all pick themselves so the question is just exactly how all 4 of them operate in the same lineup. Allowing for Calafiori/Timber’s natural development, you are starting to get glimpses of a formidable team. Saliba/Magalhaes, Saka/Havertz, only leaves one unfilled slot…
The problem is that Partey has been the better CDM this season. You are also giving Rice to much credit, his progressive passing is not on par with Partey, he tends to pass the ball back or sideways. He also won't try and carry the up the field like Partey does. Rice tends to slow us down initially going forward. The only thing he has over Partey is pace. He will become the complete player we are looking for if he can become a better progrepasser but until then give me Partey back at the 6. I'm also questioning your idea of having Merino as the CDM , you showed him flanked by Rice and Odegaard . You also have the back line reversed. Then there is having Calafiori as the right back instead of White who for me is much better than Calafiori
I don't get this Merino hype, I haven't seen any dominance in the midfield, nothing spectacular so far, Thomas Partey is miles ahead our best CM. No way Merino benches either Rice or Partey
There is a lot of Promise with Merino. He shows some qualities in games that highlight how good of a footballer he is. He also makes the game looks simple with how he plays, which is a mark of an exceptional player. I think you need to have a particular understanding of the game to appreciate players like Merino, I personally think he will prove to be one of our best players.
I wasn't too sure about Merino. I think especially in the second half it seemed like we were missing a calm and reliable deep playmaker. Him and Rice didn't really feel very controlled, I think Partey and Jorginho are just a lot better at that. I hope that Rice is learning that, because I want to see him as our single pivot. But when Monaco got better, Rice and Merino just didn't manage the build up too well.
We have some great midfielders, I do think over time Merino will find his feet. In the second half I think he struggled with fatigue and change of the system.
@@pedro8143 He’s only saying that because it doesn’t make sense to be overly positive when we all know this midfield isn’t anywhere near title-winning quality. Honestly, I’d even say Jorginho is better than Merino. And he’s always hyping up Rice too, like Rice hasn’t been average this season. Let’s be real - the lack of quality in this team is painfully obvious on the pitch.
@@thedawgfc1 y'know what we need, to stop being reactionary, I think merino needs to settle in a bit more he's only played like 10 games, but he provides some balance with rice as the 6, merino as the 8, and ode as the 10, Jorginho and Partey are great but they're not gonna be here for much longer and rice has been picking up a bit more form, obv not everything's perfect but a fan will still back the team especially when it's not doing that bad like rn lmfao
Bro, Merino has done nothing at all. Just mild glimpses. Pls be honest . V had heard a lot, best Duels, Best in the air, can also defend...Nothing so far
What kind of analysis is this, Monaco too over the mdfield because partey was playing 2. If partey was in that midfield we won't be dominated, partey is and is far better than Merino, the only thing Merino has over partey is the pace but still partey controls game to his own pace. Because we won u giving analysis, u can say this because Monaco could not finish
Bro, you must be watching a different Arsenal to me because the way you talk about Merino, you’d think he’s been a great signing. In reality, the only notable thing he’s done is score a header. He offers nothing in midfield, looks shy on the pitch, takes ages on the ball, and makes one sideways pass before people like Wolkz start overhyping him. Let’s be real - we’ve got the worst midfield in the top four even when fully fit, and Merino was like our fifth-choice option anyway 😂😂.
The rice, merino and odegaard midfield worked really well against monaco. I hope arteta fields this midfield trio more often in the nearer future
Why do fans still shit on partey like this. He offers more in the DM than rice and merino. Only positive was having a leftie on that LCM role
Because of the D in DM.

Yep! I agree with your points being made 💯
Put Ethan and odegaard together I want to see it
nah arteta lack creativity and trust
Who will help the DMF in defending
It’s not possible like that
Both are AMF
So who will be our CMF

I second that.....

What's a excellent lovely brilliant performance fr both of them phenomenal 👍🎉❤
What game did you watch merino was bad and rice didn't do anything 😂😂
I mean Monaco were pretty awful, we probably would have won the game with a different midfield too.
They are a well coached team
What point are you making with this comment? Are you saying this midfield shouldn't be reused?
@@kjbzabrini768he's just trying to be salty
You ever thought a team plays poorly against the opposition because they was outplayed idk juss a thought innit
The video is discussing the patterns of play and how we set up with that midfield. The opposition is irrelevant.
always great when your face is hidden, mate👌
🎉🎉❤ nice
I love martinelli but he’s shit rn.
Overlaps, underlaps, and he still cant score.
are you an arsenal fan?

Make sure we hit the dislike button.....rice better than merino left 8 partey better than rice as our 6.....all day
It’s far from perfect
