    I think I'm drawn to both because I agree on the part of Nihilism which states that life has no meaning but I dissagree with the people who say life is a constant struggle because that is simply not true for me. I like Tenmas philosophy that all life is created equally though I can't really agree that humans don't stand over other species at all especially because it would contradict my actions.

    Tenma is basically the opposite of a utilitarian tbh. In a way you could look at the entire story of Monster as a refutation of utilitarianism.
    Also, as a nihilist, Johan is a false imitation of an übermensch; although he doesn’t match the traditional depiction of it, imo you could even argue that he is the last man.
    I argue that Tenma is the true übermensch; he faces darkness head on and instead of succumbing to nihilism, creates and upholds his own values.
