- The story is that she has lost her memories and the group is on a quest to find them. But in order to be able to find the memories(Which takes the form of feathers)Sakura forgets all about her closest friend Syaoran which this song is about.

The saddest fact of this story...
Syaoran sacrificed his own freedom to travel, fight and search for Sakura's memory feathers through many worlds and dimensions for the sake of his love, Sakura. And Syaoran still does so even if he knew that Sakura will never know who he is or was, and will never have any affectionate feelings nor connection for him.
In conclusion, he sacrificed not only his own freedom, but also his love for Sakura, to embark on a never-ending quest to keep her alive and safe.

J Guzman Yes, they built a new relationship, but no more than being mere companions on the same journey, to make it worse, they can NEVER be together. But I bet you don't know how that must have felt, given that you answered me in such a demeanor (I like your optimism, but in this story, there is no happy ending).
Thatch Netherfold in the manga it was a happy ending, they ended up together and had a child. for me the manga is the continuation of the anime. I'm not trying to pick a fight if my words sounded like it,i just wanted to share that it ended with a happy ending (somewhat).

I fell in love with Syaoran, too. Definitely one of the most underrated anime/manga protagonists. I wish I could be like him in real life personality-wise.

But no matter what version or what dimensions they're from, Sakura and Syaoran are destined to be together. So eventually they will end up together. Even Syaoran (clone) in this series married Sakura (clone) and had a son which is the real Syaoran (Tsubasa) and he again end up with Sakura (Tsubasa). Yeah CLAMP, really mind bending, but I see what u guys did there 😏

Memories weren't only Syaoran's price, they were also Sakura's price. Sakura was asleep when she was at Yuuko's shop, but she still had to pay the price to cross dimensions. Everyone had to sacrifice the most important thing to them. Syaoran's was his relationship with Sakura. Sakura's price was her memories of Syaoran.
What's sadder is that like Watanuki, she didn't even know she had to pay this price, otherwise she probably wouldn't have sacrificed those memories if she had a choice.
What's even more sadder is that they both didn't know how they felt about each other so they don't understand how much of a sacrifice it was for the other person.
What was sadder is when they realize that they are both clone

A tune and song, after so many years has gone by, still evokes strong emotions to her listeners
The story of this Anime is a tragedy. I easily cry and become emotional over these sad stories. I just can't help myself from the tears non-stop dripping down from my eyes to my cheeks!
Sakura forgets about her lover back from their childhood when they had freedom. They once lived in peace in their kingdom until the day the princess accidentally discovered an underground tunnel, which is a top secret base. When the magic spell was casted upon her, it took away all her memories forever. Yet, Syaoran and the others group members travel together through different dimensions in search of the valuable feathers that holds on to the precious moments of her past life.

That was the price Syoaran paid to save her (in trade for the power to travel through dimension for her memory feathers). The tragic relationship between Syaoran and Sakura: Syaoran is forgotten, but Sakura forgot. Syaoran went through hell to save Sakura but she will never know why would he go to such lengths to save her.
Its clear who paid the most painful price here.

They never lived in "peace". If you've read the manga, you'll know it was only an illusion and the events that followed were inevitable. If you haven't watched Tokyo Revelations and Shunraiki, you should because they reveal more about the story.
SPOILERS
The "power" in the underground ruins of Clow Kingdom was actually one of Sakura's feathers. You would ask how because the feathers hadn't been scattered at that point, but it's all a time loop. One of the feathers travelled to a past version of Clow Country and Sakura decides to leave her feather there without taking it back, in order to protect that country. It was all Fei Wong's plan from the very beginning.
I'm 32 now and this still pulls at my heartstrings enough to make me want to cry. It's so desperate and beautiful, and just so sad. It's been over a decade and I'm still emotional about it!
I remember this song. I used to play this song before I sleep because it's so soothing. Eventually I learned the lyrics and couldnt fall asleep anymore because i would sing along the whole night

After more than a decade, this old video got recommended on my youtube today. I used to sing this song before falling asleep and got scolded by my dad for singing loud in near late night hahaha. I freaking loved the chorus; felt so melodic, sad and lovely in same time. Now that I listen to the song again ngl I feel the same old nostalgic feelings. I love the dept of how the song was sang, how the raw emotion was not to mention not only coming out from the tune alone, but from how the words are being delivered. It is as if, you would understand and feel how she went through like you yourself have gone the same experience.

Tsubasa Chronicle was my first anime :) i had watch it who i was 11 or 12 years old and i had cry a lot, this Anime is full with emotions!
It still hurts to watch this. I finished the Tsubasa Chronicle anime like five years ago.
I was sad to know that Syaoran and Sakura were clone, but happy to finish together.

But this animation portrayed the stories of Sakura and shaoran who became the most painful and bitterest adults. This is just crazy. And i feel this is the most sad song for now. Fit very well to me. Actually the name is cardcaptor sakura . Sakura means cherry blossom or cherry flowers in Japanese . I may be wrong though

You should watch this anime, it's really good. Very interesting.
