The thing is, with a move pool like that, any competitive player would know lions would still loose.

  • @OmegaTyrant
    @OmegaTyrant 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

    Water/Dragon wouldn't do much for Gyarados in Gen 1 OU; sure it no longer instantly dies to Thunderbolt, but it still loses to Zapdos and Jolteon 1v1 (while Starmie and Gengar still likely beat it), and losing the Earthquake immunity is a lot more meaningful than losing the Rock Slide weakness (Water/Dragon Gyarados would still take a lot of damage switching in to a Rhydon Earthquake, while you no longer have any chance of a free switch in). What keeps Gyarados from being OU is that it simply doesn't hit hard enough, isn't fast enough, isn't tanky enough, doesn't have any especially useful resistances/immunity other than the Ground immunity it would lose as Water/Dragon, and has no utilities such as sleep or paralysis spreading; the 4X Electric weakness is just not that big of a deal with holding Gyarados back. Having no weaknesses is also not that major of a boon either, especially so in Gen 1 when pure Psychic and Normal types may as well have no weaknesses too, and so a Water/Dragon Gyarados isn't really unique in that regard. It certainly wouldn't be better than Lapras, who is a lot bulkier, can hit nearly as hard on the special side (with STAB Blizzard to boot instead of having to use Hydro Pump), has a quad resistance to Ice and freeze immunity, and has sleep utility, yet ended up falling out of OU. Maybe it would make it a terror in UU? Still not sure about that, Electric is less prominent there, and a Ground immunity is still important when Dugtrio is one of the most prominent pokemon there.

    My opinion: Since Trade Evolutions are implicitly the Pokemon's data getting corrupted in transfer during the trade process and mutating them (adding reptilian/humanoid traits from Machoke onto Graveler to make Golem, adding Graveler's extra arms to Machoke to make Machamp, taking away Kadabra's big foxy tail and duplicating its spoon, reshaping the gaseous Haunter into a doppleGANGER of Clefable) their secondary typings should change. Golem should become Rock/Fighting and learn some Fighting moves, Machamp should become Fighting/Ground and have STAB Earthquake and get Magnitude/Dig by level up just in case you want to save your precious Earthquake TM, Gengar should drop its Poison typing and become Ghost/Psychic or pure Ghost, that sort of thing.

    >Giving godgar.
    >A type change.
    >Or buff in anyway shape or form.
    Godgar is perfection, he is a god the alpha&omega a GIGA CHAD for 8 gen. That was nerf'd more than once, AND STILL STAYED A GOD. There is no need to change a god he is utter perfection in incorporeal form. Giving him a 80 ghost type move in gen 1, would just be overpowered, hell giving him a bunch of great moves in gen 1 would make him. An old one elder god abomination against all living&unliving. A being of pure power&hate that feeds off the pain&suffer of others. A being that covets consuming souls antagonizing all those that stands infront of godgar. Shattering their body,mind&ego, sucking the broken vessel soul gaining a few seconds of nirvana and lust. Instantly in search of another creature to show them. Death is not the end fear and pain can be eternal their suffering can indeed never end. If a god so choses to "bless" them with such a fate. Because all gods have eternal hunger. All gods lust to show off their omnipotents&omnipresents to lesser beings. And contrary to what Japanese games constantly meme pathedically, gods cannot be killed. Let alone by pleb mortals with the power of friendship. A god is eternal it is everywhere and nowhere time is meaningless, a god is above our understanding of reality.
    TPC made the perfect pokemon in gen 1 without realizing it fully. Godgar is everlasting and perpetual everyone loves godgar he is once again a giga chad. The funny thing is where does gastly truly come from? and how hard is it truly for a gastly to evolve into a hunter let alone a godgar in the wild. A wild godgar is truly the most fearsom pokemon. I bet if a trainer spent a week+ following and stufying it, they would start shivering and break town into tears from what they witnessed. And godgar would come up from the shadows on the ground look at the trainer in the eyes and slowly lick them once taking as many tears as it can . Close its eyes savoring in the sarrow. And if the trainer somehow ticked off godgar he would cast hypnosis knocking the trainer out hit them with nightmare and slowly over weeks and months heal the trainer have the hidden away poping into their mind tormenting them even further before blasting their mind with dreameater. Instantly start drooling from all the pleasure, due to making this human suffer 247 becoming a wonderful snack&plaything. One of many bodies godgar has in a dark hidden away room filled to the brim with humans who have been there for days to decades constantly sleeping constantly in a never ending nightmare that gets worse feeding off those dreams to gain life&power&pleasure. Knee plebs kneel and give thanks to godgar for not eating your soul shattering your body and soul annihilating you completely causing egodeath before once again riping out and devouring your soul your very being your very essence erasing you from history down to the atom poof gone from everyone who knew you. Your name&photo confusing those who once knew you.
    That is the power of a true god that is the true power of godgar.
    God damn I love godgar they're perfect a being of true primordial hatred, I truly absolutely love them. inb4 2edgy4me.

    While not meta there are a handful of mons that could've gotten the dragon and ghost type which are one line each alongside the dark type in gen 2.
    Ninetales is a yokai that inflict curse along with Parasect for being a literal zombie could've been fire/ghost and grass/ghost respectively
    Hypno and Arbok are two of the worst kanto mons for those typing. Being psychic/dark for kidnapping alongside poison/dark due to team rocket
    Dragon is the hardest other than Gyrados everything is highly questionable. Aerodactly and Arcanine maybe but even those two are reaches

    Gyarados suffers from the same problem as Charizard actually. Gets a flying type, but no flying moves. Too bad they fixed the orange lizard in gen 2, but decided to slap a ZAP CANNON on a snake who's x4 weak to the type of that move.

    • @OmegaTyrant
      @OmegaTyrant 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Assuming it would have 40 Special (as it would certainly use its base Special Attack) and no Megahorn, it would basically be a worse Pinsir; Pinsir has the same Attack and Speed, but gets Swords Dance that can let it potentially do something, while it also gets Slash for more immediate damage and Bind to try wrapping shenanigans. Meanwhile Heracross has a crippling Psychic weakness, and all Heracross would have movepool wise is getting STAB on Submission (which as we know, is laughable, and that's assuming it even learns Submission as it doesn't in Gen 2), and maybe Earthquake (if we assume it keeps all the Gen 1 moves it learn in Gen 2), which is nice to not get completely walled by Ghosts but ain't a game changer. And Pinsir is PU, barely at that, with some very niche use in higher tiers, so Gen 1 Heracross would be completely in the gutter. Even if you want to assume Heracross gets Swords Dance too (as it does after Gen 2), the Psychic weakness, lack of Slash, and lack of bind would still make it worse than Pinsir.

    Forget just losing Poison, what would REALLY take Gengar to the next level would be gaining the Ice type. I mean, it causes cold when it appears, right? A Ghost/Ice Gengar could resist Blizzards, have no fear of being Frozen, and if its moveset was updated to match, unleash absolutely fearsome Ice Beams and Blizzards of its own. It would beat the Water/Ice mons in a 1v1 thanks to Thunderbolt, as well, helping it become the dominant Ice type in OU.

    You FOOL! You claimed that Gengar would lose its resistance to Twineedle when in truth, poison is weak to bug, meaning that it defensively becomes even stronger against the bug move(s?) The only excuse you could make for this ABSOLUTE BLUNDER is because it doesn't matter in the slightest and the only time you'd actually see this come up is if someone runs Jolteon with Pin Missile in an attempt to find a viable use for psychic's only weakness, which will probably result in a loss anyway.
