Water/Dragon wouldn't do much for Gyarados in Gen 1 OU; sure it no longer instantly dies to Thunderbolt, but it still loses to Zapdos and Jolteon 1v1 (while Starmie and Gengar still likely beat it), and losing the Earthquake immunity is a lot more meaningful than losing the Rock Slide weakness (Water/Dragon Gyarados would still take a lot of damage switching in to a Rhydon Earthquake, while you no longer have any chance of a free switch in). What keeps Gyarados from being OU is that it simply doesn't hit hard enough, isn't fast enough, isn't tanky enough, doesn't have any especially useful resistances/immunity other than the Ground immunity it would lose as Water/Dragon, and has no utilities such as sleep or paralysis spreading; the 4X Electric weakness is just not that big of a deal with holding Gyarados back. Assuming it would have 40 Special (as it would certainly use its base Special Attack) and no Megahorn, it would basically be a worse Pinsir; Pinsir has the same Attack and Speed, but gets Swords Dance that can let it potentially do something, while it also gets Slash for more immediate damage and Bind to try wrapping shenanigans. Meanwhile Heracross has a crippling Psychic weakness, and all Heracross would have movepool wise is getting STAB on Submission (which as we know, is laughable, and that's assuming it even learns Submission as it doesn't in Gen 2), and maybe Earthquake (if we assume it keeps all the Gen 1 moves it learn in Gen 2), which is nice to not get completely walled by Ghosts but ain't a game changer. And Pinsir is PU, barely at that, with some very niche use in higher tiers, so Gen 1 Heracross would be completely in the gutter. Even if you want to assume Heracross gets Swords Dance too (as it does after Gen 2), the Psychic weakness, lack of Slash, and lack of bind would still make it worse than Pinsir.

gen 1 gengar with mono ghost type would be downright overpowered, such a shame it has poison type
If only Kanto wasn't dealing with a plague
I feel like golduck would go to mimimum UU BL as a frailer faster Slowbro
Make a video about every Fnaf character vs every Pokémon please
Get that bag king. I might give it a go lmfao looks fun.
BIG YELLOW MENTIONED POG
lore wise, and mechanics wise, gengar should be dark ghost.
and sableye should be dark fairy.
Dragon typing was too strong defensively in gen 1, the idea of using Ice to sweep Lance would be laughable when he leads with Gyarados.
Am I crazy or did u remake the drawing of ur face?
yup
Imagine golduck trying to be vaiable( bet you can’t )
I named my shiny Regigigas after you, thanks for the hilarious content
Say, since fighting and bug stinked in gen 1, how do you think heracross would do there?
Hold up… wait✋🏾. Where is magcarjoe
D-d-d-dd-d-duel types
My wife loves Royal Match
Couple typos/ mis speaks around 10:20
You don't get to resist twineedle, poison is weak to bug in rby
Good evening my man! Strongly recommend to go back to the old magcar face, it's much bettter! The face in this vid fits in uncanny valley lol
"been in the most OU tiers of any pokemon barring mewtwo" But mewtwo has never been OU??? 😭
I wonder if this is at all inspired by a recent beta restoration romhack...
it was not but that sounds pretty cool!
i am a viewer of the video!
actually in gen 1 poison was weak to bug
hello magcarjoseph
Wait, what happened to MagcarJoe??? Who is Joseph???
GOD DAMN IT THE MAGCARGO FAN HAS FALLEN TO THE CURSE OF "Getting sponsored by a mobile game"!!!
AND THE GAME IS JUST A CLONE OF CANDY CRUSH TOO, THE HORROR!
R.I.P Magcarjoe
Our soldier who fell to the hands of sponsoring a mobile game…
Money is money and it's easy to skip at least. Better than youtube's blatant scam ads targeted at children at least lol.
Forget just losing Poison, what would REALLY take Gengar to the next level would be gaining the Ice type. I mean, it causes cold when it appears, right? A Ghost/Ice Gengar could resist Blizzards, have no fear of being Frozen, and if its moveset was updated to match, unleash absolutely fearsome Ice Beams and Blizzards of its own. It would beat the Water/Ice mons in a 1v1 thanks to Thunderbolt, as well, helping it become the dominant Ice type in OU.
Potential wasted by GF
As sad as it is I’d rather not there be a third water/psychic in gen 1
They shouldn’t have made golduck so psychic related that most people want it to be water/psychic.
They also shouldn’t have made so many Pokémon that actually are water/psychic in gen 1.
Yo watsup 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎👍
Especially in Nintendo Cup 1997 yes Gengar would be the best or second best pokemon in the game onlt to Tauros. Gyrados wouldn't really be that good though even if it was part Dragon. Definitely better but nothing special
For your algorithm
Thank you for this day thank for being so kind God help me and these better understand you God
Why is Scyther a Flying type
Wings.
That's basically it.
@@wadespencer3623heracross has wings yet its not a flying type
yellow
Shouldn't it be "dual types"?
For Gen 1 I’d like to see these type changes in future generations.
Blastoise: Water/Steel
Arbok: Poison/Dark
Hypno: Psychic/Dark
Seadra: Water/Dragon
Marowak: Ground/Ghost
Dhelmise gets woder cuz steel worker
Hey man
hi
You FOOL! You claimed that Gengar would lose its resistance to Twineedle when in truth, poison is weak to bug, meaning that it defensively becomes even stronger against the bug move(s?) The only excuse you could make for this ABSOLUTE BLUNDER is because it doesn't matter in the slightest and the only time you'd actually see this come up is if someone runs Jolteon with Pin Missile in an attempt to find a viable use for psychic's only weakness, which will probably result in a loss anyway.
what's the game at 4:36?
Probably is Pokémon Type Wild
8:05 bro wtf is that creature
this is the wrongest thumbnail i've ever seen bro the ghost typing is literally the only reason gengar is good, the normal immunity is straight up its most valuable trait
100% correct but I'm not changing it
based@@magcarjoseph2nd
Hey magcarjoe, small mistake on your part, you actually forgot that gengar had levitate before getting it removed in gen 8, thus making it immune to earthquake !!!
What is this "levitate" you speak of? Sounds horribly like game freak being being too much of cowards to give it a flying type.
This video is about Gen 1 though. Abilities didn't exist until Gen 3.
@@fabulousauruspeks7010 if pokemon didnt have abilities theyd just be normal animals. you can't fool me
It was gen 7 when it lost levitate. It also didn't have it until gen 3.
