I've always noticed that the scariest part about these games is the loneliness. It just makes me so depressed sometimes that I just quit playing. Corruption was the nicest game since you could visit the Federation, talk to the other hunters, and get advice from the Aurora Unit anytime you wanted too. It was more comforting.
Thanks so much for all your series my son 11yr and I love watching. He has High Functioning Autism and a talent for Computers especial games or graphics. We have learned so much. He loves to share is new found knowledge with everyone. :)
Amazing!!! Seriously this is the best video I've seen about video games by far, and believe me when I say that I saw tons of them! Very complete and informative (didn't even know about the Metroid manga)! And even better, you're pretty as an angel! Keep up the excellent work and be sure I'll take the time watch your other videos! ^^
This is an amazing channel, uwaaa~ In depth information, not just a few tidbits there, I feel like this is way more comprehensive and robust! Well done!
I love your "History of" videos. They are very informative. You explain everything very clearly and even throw in some interesting trivias. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for sending me this video, dunno where you noticed me but good call sending this. Metroid is my favorite series. Keep up this "History of" series. I think it's a lot better.
I just played Super for the first time about a month ago, and it blew me away. Sooooo much better (and harder) than many modern games! The atmosphere's incredible, the gameplay is intuitive, there's no lengthy exposition to be found, and the themes of exploration given the spotlight. Probably the best game I've ever played!
These retrospectives have more work put in than just a quick Wikipedia search! I love the drawings, they are such a nice touch, can't wait for Part 2! :)
Nice background; very informative. Metroid for the NES was one my favorite games of all time back in the day. I also appreciated Alis from Phantasy Star as one of the first major video game heroines along with Samus.
This is excellent! I've always been extremely interested in gaming history, but I can never find good videos on it. I could see this blowing up, keep up the great work(:
Amazing video! Metroid is my favorite franchise and as a Metroid nut this was a very impressive and informative retrospective, great job! (Can't wait for part 2) ^^
i believe you may have got one fact wrong idk but its worth mentioning, i believe that the metroids and the mother brain were made by the chozo. the metroids were made to combat the x parasite and the mother brain was made to control the metroids
So true about Super Metroid, when I was a kid I rented it and liked it but stopped playing in favour of other games. I thought Link to the Past was my favourite game on the SNES all these years, but it stands a close second to Super Metroid. I still can't believe I put this game down as a kid. Soooooooooo goooood.
Wow, very educational, especially since Metroid is one of my favorite games, Super Metroid is without a doubt one of the best games ever made.

A bit late to the party, didn't stumble on to your channel until now, but you did a great job with these videos. An interesting and wonderful retrospective, brings back lots of fond memories. Thumbs up!
I have to admit the first time I watched a friend of mine beat super metroid like ten times back to back I still could not get enough. How in the hell would super metroid have to compete with donkey kong? it just shows how the world wasnt ready for that type of game. There are so many elements from metroid that you see in games today, and the speed running upgrade was brilliant it gave the game another atmosphere. I was fortunate to cop my nintendo gamecube & I believe the second game I bought was "Metroid Prime" one of the best games I have ever played.
I don't usually watch to 'shared with you' videos, But when I saw the title of the video, instant subscribe/like. Metroid and Retrospectives? In one video? Count me in!
Thanks a lot for this! I feel like you really went deep enough to make the story understandable while also keeping the storyline clear, complete with the relation to the 3D games which were developed later while the stories were in between the 2D's (and that for a kind of newby like me). I appreciate your storytelling pace (not too fast) and the time you took to include gameplay and also storytelling with the whiteboard. I got interested in this history when seeing footage of the Metroid-game-to-come Metroid: Samus Returns. I'm kind of a newby to this universe and your video really gave me a good idea of what it is, in the games as well as in the 'real' world. So thank you for that! :) Wikipedia didn't do it for me, especially because I didn't get where they got the Space Pirates idea from for the story of the first Metroid game. It didn't seem to me to be mentioned in the game itself. You cleared it up with the manga and the 3D's in between the 2D's storywise. So thank you again. I'm off to watch Part 2 now, haha! :)
Thank you for sending me this video, beautifully done! Thanks also for mentioning AM2R, Doc is working very hard on the 3rd area of SR388. I'd love to hear your opinion on Other M. xP
Great video, very interesting. Metroid II was the first gameboy game i played, also Super Metroid was one of the first Snes games i owned, so it brings sweet memories.
OMG, this video is awesome. Remember that episode of South Park where Cartman gets antsy waiting for Nintendo to release the Wii? Thats how I feel about Part two of the Metroid video....Could someone possibly help freeze me and unfreeze me when Part two comes out? :)
This was the first video of yours I've ever seen. I really enjoyed it. Being a hardcore Metroid fan myself, you gave little tidbits that even I didn't know. Pretty cool. Consider me a subscriber. Keep up the good work.
Great Video. A Little bit Dry in My taste, but still a Great video. I knew Most of it Because of the TH-cam Channel ''Did You Know Gaming'', but that Does Not Change the Fact that You should Keep on making Videos. Keep up the Great Work
This is a spectacular video. Metroid has grown to be my favorite nintendo series (Nintendo being my main company). I have played through all of the games and have enjoyed everyone of them even other m. Metroid is a series that definitely needs more attention from Nintendo and has so much story potential. Again awesome video series. Like this video and comment if you agree.
I must say. You've come up with the best retrospectives of the entire Internet. I've searched everywhere even simple wiki style and your is best by far. Can you do one on insomniac? Or is a company a bad idea? I'm not saying you game retrospectives are bad. I'm saying they're the best and are brilliant. But it would be amazing to do game world companies. Or even naughty dog. As you have the data half done on other retrospectives. Etc
good job on the video I really liked the part where you talked about the fan made project AM2R I recently played the demo but it sucks that its not out yet -_-

I was thinking about AM2R the whole time you were talking about Metroid II, and then you mentioned it. Awesome. I continue to enjoy your videos!
Really enjoying this! About to watch part two!
I love your "History of" videos. They are very informative. You explain everything very clearly and even throw in some interesting trivias. Keep up the good work!
Well, now I know Samus was named after the person I was named after.
Who were you named after
Great presentation with the drawings and all! Respect! :)
i found your channel by accident. but this si the best video game reviewers/ video game history youtubers EVER. Thank you so much
I knew that Metroid was inspired by the movie Alien!
Interesting that you actually noted the AM2R fanremake in this video

This is one of the best retrospectives I've ever seen.
Beautiful retrospective, it makes me evaluate Super Metroid and the franchise's struggle in a new light. Hopefully part 2 is as good as this one.
It's almost a shame that i'm using this wonderful Metroid retrospective as an audio book with all the nice art and game scenes featured
At least they didn't name her Samus Pelé XD
Amazing video! Metroid is my favorite franchise and as a Metroid nut this was a very impressive and informative retrospective, great job! (Can't wait for part 2) ^^
Incredibly interesting and well-made video. Metroid is one of my favorite game series, and watching this was so fun and enlightening. Great work!
You deserve so much more views and subscriptions, girl!
Now up to 100,000 views. Congrats, I knew the people would come to watch you good work eventually. XD
i believe you may have got one fact wrong idk but its worth mentioning, i believe that the metroids and the mother brain were made by the chozo. the metroids were made to combat the x parasite and the mother brain was made to control the metroids
Wow, I never knew there was this much back story behind Samus Aran. Thanks for talking about it, very informative.
By far the best Metroid history vid. Well done!!
Great retrospective. Metroid is my all time favorite game series, and I think you did a good overview of why it was revolutionary.
I love that you used high level gameplay for the footage. That's something I don't see in people's videos enough.
You're a very good artist!!
By far the best Retrospective for the Metroid series, and Patricia, your gawjus! keep up the good work! :)
Good job on those drawings! I'm glad to see you are one of many who really want to put a lot of work into their content! ;)
This is one of the best TH-cam Videos I have ever seen!
I love finding channels like this. Learning and video games combined. Yup...epic! Instant Sub.
I don't know very much about the Metroid series, I've only played about 3/4 of Metroid Prime for the Gamecube. Beautifully done.
Thank you for those videos, been waiting for something like this for a long time !
I'm highly looking towards part two!
Great video Patricia

Woah nice retrospective! I can see you put alot of time and effort into it. I'm expecting another great video later!
What a great video! Excellent research and very nice presentation!!! Thx a lot!
Wow, great job. Very carefully crafted retrospective. Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Another detailed and complete series, great video.

I'm looking forward to Part 2 of the retrospective! Keep up the great work!
You should definitely do a 'The History of Pokemon' at some point.

Fantastic video! I had no idea how close Super Metroid was to not getting completed! :O
Metroid has a very interesting backstory that I didn't even knew. This video is done very well. Kudos!
That title theme certainly achieved (and still achieves) giving you the emotion isolation.
i really love that "ice flow" song! it's just too awesome.
Thanks a lot for this! I feel like you really went deep enough to make the story understandable while also keeping the storyline clear, complete with the relation to the 3D games which were developed later while the stories were in between the 2D's (and that for a kind of newby like me).

I'm a big Metroid fan! I could never get enough. I used to carry the instrution manuel around with me where ever I went and I called myself Kraid.

Those TAS clips for Super Metroid and Mario 64 are awesome btw
What a well-researched video. Great job!
This was a great Video! Always looked for a good video explanation of Metroid Lore :)
The best metroid history video I've seen ever and it could be a good a idea to make resident evil history :3
Just a correction, the Queen Alien is in Aliens and it isn't referred to as "Mother" , rather that was the AI on the Nostromo.
Those drawings were amazing Patricia :D
Great job, I really love this videos :D keep up the awesome work :D
Oh my gosh I love this channel *0* you should consider a Mega Man retrospective someday!
Metroid has got to be my favorite series!
This is a great video, very informative.
OMG, this video is awesome. Remember that episode of South Park where Cartman gets antsy waiting for Nintendo to release the Wii? Thats how I feel about Part two of the Metroid video....Could someone possibly help freeze me and unfreeze me when Part two comes out? :)

My mind = blown

Really enjoyed this. Thanks for uploading.

And I thought gametrailers' retrospective was in depth nice work.
This was an awesome retrospective, definitely learned a lot. We need a new Metroid...
I'd like to know more about these 'Space Hunters'. Based on your sketches, they look pretty cool.
Great video! What a beautiful narrator too!
I must say. You've come up with the best retrospectives of the entire Internet. I've searched everywhere even simple wiki style and your is best by far. Can you do one on insomniac? I'll keep that idea in mind, though I'm more comfortable doing videos about game franchises.
You have won a subscriber on me, great work. I find your retrospectives really informative and your reviews well written, but, may I know your name?
i like your vids you speak clearly unlike the other videos I see
good job on the video I really liked the part where you talked about the fan made project AM2R I recently played the demo but it sucks that its not out yet -_-
Great stuff! What happened to this channel?
