@@fee.d Well I know some peeps find it difficult yea, for the peeps who've played many racing games (which were honestly much harder than this) it may still be hard for them in comparison to us folks. I got to Silver in less then an hour so yea since nr.1 literally gives you 33% per race at first

I think the biggest problem with ranked racing is the collision in one match I got completely turned around while drifting by other players two times This is a massive problem for a ranked game mode I went from 2 to last and it causes one AFK player to ruin the entire experience because they’ll just sit there, and if you’re behind them when the race starts you’re screwed and you can’t ready up for a new match without them finishing the race😢

I just got spun out literally 2 times and finished good lol. By good i mean finished 7th because of that just didnt lose ranked points 😂 this mode is incredibly frustrating, i had to play zero builds to remind myself im not horrible at video games lol. Got 2 crown wins in a row after that and its the highlight of my week lol

They should actually just disable the collision of cars. It's driving me nuts and people just constantly try to screw you over. It looks a lot like a pinball machine instead of an actual race

Yea proper ranked play will never work with the current system. Competitive racing games usualy have either 0 car-to-car collision or a penalty system, and this has neither.
I found the game mode easy until silver 2 , silver 3 was pretty difficult however gold 1 is just wow … can’t imagine unreal

They need to balance the ranking system.
The difficulty should ramp up at the higher levels not the lower ones

8:10 Cool trick that I discovered on the last turn of this map, if you stay on the right road, boost in the air, and then move closer to the right side. Then you would reach the finish alot quicker

They just need to fix coallition physics because sometimes they act really weird like you barelly touch a normal wall than usually just reduces your speed and then your car just explodes or sometimes other cars barelly touch you and your car just starts spinning like crazy, also the positioning at the start gives too much advantage to people who are placed in the front

Yesterday I was playing a match on that map where you fly and the two roads intersect, someone barely bumped me in the air and I got pushed into a wall. I lost my first place and got like 5th or 6th because of that.

I wonder if they made Rocket Racing Ranked SUPER hard because people kept complaining about BR Ranked being "too easy" when it first came out. So they overcompensated and made it TOO hard. Then again, it could also simply just be the way they want it. Maybe it's SUPPOSED to be ridiculously hard and pixel perfect, which isn't for everyone but might be for some. Either way, you got to remember that you've got till the end of the season to complete this and the Fortnite Festival pass, there's no rush to finish it right now immediately.

This mode should’ve been/should have a time trial style mode, where you can race other players’ ghosts, because being hit by other players definitely infuriates some people, but I get it wouldn’t be as competitive as it is now and some people like that sort of competition, they also could’ve used the random rift encounters on the track like they showed in the trailer for the mode instead of the boring slowing balls and beams, I’d say it would’ve been a lot more exciting
It would be more competitive, the whole point of the game is to be as fast as possible, its not a Mario kart

Man this is tough. I got to Silver pretty easy but After that it has been hard. I switched to a controller because the keyboard was not setup as easy, but I'm rarely finishing in the top 5. I know, get good, and I'm trying. But that means I have to place high so no matter what I do this skin is locked behind a skill cap, not an effort cap.
@@colescalisthenics I don't use the break and keep the throttle full at all times. I am sure there are some nuances I am missing but I just try to keep my corners clean, drifting in one smooth turn.

I have to agree! I mean it probably took me 6 or 7 hours to get to gold 2 and it was nerve wracking. But as a tip for the people trying to reach gold, always try to save 2 of your boosts for situations you really need them in, because in most cases you will still be able to stay around place 3-5 without boosting much. Towards the end of the last round, so nearly before the finish line i then use my leftover one ore two boosts. Hope this is helpful to someone :D

I was on a massive adrenaline high, grinding to gold. I waited for the skin, NOTHING. I see this video, and that's when the adrenaline wears off. Lightheaded, pins and needles everywhere. Hell, i could barely walk after grinding to just get to gold. This game mode really LITERALLY screwed me over.

BTW tabor, on that track you can go through the waterfall with the pineapple above it for a shortcut

I hit Gold 1 on the first day, but assumed it was bugged when I saw posts online all talking about not getting the skin. I ignored it, thinking it would be fixed later, but then some friends wanted to race for a while and I hit Gold 2 then got Jackie after. Can confirm, this video is true. Thank you, I got the skin 2nd day after playing a casual match in Gold 2.
Honestly, playing the tutorial slowly twice in a row gave me an edge knowing how to transition to platforms smoothly. I have fun the first lap and the 2nd lap I memorize the landmark before the Finish Line, so I know around where to boost on the 3rd lap.
Also, on really sharp turns I short drift and straighten out fast allowing me to get a boost and engage a second long drift with charge-up, staying close to the inside line
Ive had several matches that didn't even update the rank. It was just saying "taking longer than expected".
The ranked lobbies for rocket racing are sweaty!!!!

I'm in silver 1 and the races are already hard. People just come out of no where and win. I'm not a racing fanatic, and I thought bronze was great, but silver is excrutiating. It even starts taking percentage away if you don't get in top 8. I got 12th once and lost almost 10%. WTH.

The vehicle collsion is insanely infuriating, the amount of times i was in first and taken down to dead last in flat out stupid, a definitely waiting for the update.
the point system needs to be changed because it takes forever to rank up

One thing I noticed when racing, when your surrounded by lots of players in a corner while drifting you get an extra boost both from the drifting and the cars squeezing against yours, kinda like a catapolt, it happened to me a few times but most players don't keep too close to each other to take advantage of it
if you’re close behind a player you get a speed boost since air resistance is not slowing you down, it’s called slipstream

Once i started a race with 100% boost at the very start but the guy in front of me didn't moved and i wasted all my bonus on him

They should made rank no contact or at least for the first 10 second of the race you know how many time someone get in my way I'll have 100% boost bonus from the start
Only race map I have an issue with is Cliff Jumper. Too many bumps that either flip my car or kill all momentum not to mention the clipping of the first wallride at the start.

They need to add a random of non-ranked, I don't wanna have to queue for only one map, I wanna queue for multiple of my favorites
I had to reach Gold 2 so the skin could get redeemed, pretty simple game. But too many teamers, tailgaters (who end up losing) and your typical check breaker or slammer. I’ve played a lot of racing games, and Asphalt and NASCAR really helped. But they also gotta fix some bugs, landed on air and immediately died, drove against bots and invisible Octanes, and glitched through a barrier winning the race.
I do not know this is a bug or not, but I die when I chip the rocks by a inch and cause me to lose the race.

Can’t tell if it’s my internet connection or not, but I notice that when racing on the track, sometimes I’d just randomly slow down for a “missed checkpoint” even though I’ve sped past it.
I reached Gold 1 today but if it's going to start decreasing my rank then I'll be waiting for the update 😄.

It might be because there are so few players in higher ranks still, but I'm platinum 2, and I get around 5% from first place. I want to get higher ranks for the wheels, but it's just waaaaay too much of a grind at the moment.

I hate the games where you just wait for that 12th player and he never loads but you have to sit a minute or two before the race timer counts down.

I think silver rank 2 should have been the requirement. When it no longer becomes fun you want nothing to do with any game when you get your reward.
They Dropped the ball with launch of this mode with Rank being bugged and now this? They're Gonna lose more people especially how expensive the cars are. They need to just give everyone that played the mode the free skin. Also make it where you can use your Rocket league garage in the mode. That's just an Idea.

Just hit gold 2 today and man is it a grind. inched my way there. Got the skin after starting a match in gold 2. no need to finish the match. Taking a break from Rocket Racing now.

I want to add I thing to difficulty of this mode - you can't say what place you will get on finish. Me and friends saw this many times already when you're finishing with, for example, 4 place at top left UI and then suddenly finish screen says you're 5 or 7 or whatever
If you get this, just join and leave a match. It will show you that you completed the quest.
I never had anger issues until I played this game mode 🤣
Can confirm it’s unlockable at Gold 1 now.
Also, if you have a friend who’s low rank, let them host because you play in their rank. In my Silver 3, I was playing in his bronze rank so I was storming through everyone it made it easier to rank up.

For some reason when you do the foil flex with the Jackie skin, she gets a fanny pack that stays on most of the time, must be a bug or a hint for a new style for the skin, or just cut content for it.
Finally hit gold rank 2 but didn't get it until after the next race.
You have no idea how long it took me to get to gold. Most games I’ve gotten 8th and below, and sometimes in the top 4.

They got it mixed from “achieve” to “complete” I’m guessing, the one race from gold 2 solidifies that you’ve finished gold 1

I know this was about 4 months ago since upload, I’ve gotten to gold one, nothing. Saw I need to be gold two, nothing. I played another match after getting to gold two, nothing. I’ve seen people saying play the anaconda map expert level and you’ll get her but I’ve still not got it, was it limited time to get the skin? I’m genuinely curious as I’ve spent so much time playing rocket racing and I feel as if I’ve wasted time.
I'm also having an issue where my rank doesn't update after a race.
It happens frequently but it saves the progress and adds up later. Always.

Funny enough, that maneuver to flip you around is a real thing police use in chases. It’s called a pit maneuver and is used to make somebody hit a guard rail so they can get boxed in

What’s odd though is that the real technique involved hitting the rear of the vehicle. In RR, a single tap on the back causes it to happen.
That does bring back memories of a racing game I played when I was young, and I would ALWAYS go for the pit maneuver. I think it would be funny to have in RR too if it wasn’t for the fact that it is nearly impossible to make a comeback when against even a slightly competent player. 1 mistake may as well be gg go next, back to the lobby.

Also initial placement is based on when you load into the game which is very unfair to people without perfect internet they really need to fix this mode shuffle initial start and make a more dynamic competitive calculation system that takes into account how long you were towards the front for and also need to make it harder to spin out and easier to chain drifts

Oddly enough, I didn't get mine until hitting Gold 3. Went back to lobby every time after reaching gold and was starting to wonder what was going on. I also didn't receive 3 levels from the Lego level up quests

THANK YOU FOR THIS. All of it. Acknowledging getting spun around especially, because that happens to me almost every match and it took me almost a week to get up to gold. Ima just hold out for the update, rocket racing could be fun in theory but the mechanics make it way too choppy and I honestly just can't get behind it.
I feel like rocket racing takes skill but skill is not the only thing that matters. If you are ahead of everyone, you are good if you know the track and can maneuver through the side jumps and stuff. But if you are in between players, it is pretty much luck. Players with higher ping suddenly appear and turn you, and often at the finish line you finish 2nd but then the results show you are 4th or 5th.
I think they should also add a ranked time trial mode instead of only racing. I got to gold 1 after grinding for 5 hours with rage sessions in between 😂. Just for the skin, I dont think I am going to play it after I get the skin.

I can’t wait for the time trials, it’s gonna be a good way to learn the maps and mechanics better, I still don’t quite get how to do the jump on sideways roads , like I get you jump then press on the analog stick and X (Xbox series X) but whenever I do it my car does a full 360
I grinded like 6h to get to Gold1 just to realize that i need gold2 and going to gold2 was pain
i got it yesterday, i got gold 1 and it was taking 5 minutes to find a match that had 4 players in it. it was very frustrating to get it but i managed to do it quickly
