being able to share the same hobbies and passions as your father and spending the weekend together is such a dream. You are extremely lucky to have such a loving father.
As a portrait photographer, I developed my photography with soft light. Always shooting in opened shade. While it's pretty, it lacks depth. So it wasn't until I started shooting street photos that I discovered, and really started paying attention to, light. I still love soft light but discovering my new love for harsh light has just added to my arsenal. Soft light has become something like...bokeh, it's pretty but when overused, it becomes boring.
I'm headed to New York for work tomorrow for a few days, so I liked seeing where you shot, but I also really liked your point of view on what kinds of things you tune into. Very fun to hear your idea about details distracting from the main subject. When I shoot anything wider than 35mm, I'm often putting too many things in the frame. So, I go the other way. 50 and up. :)
@@ChrisBrogan Thank you so much for tuning in! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, wishing you the best for your time in NY! I’m sure you’ll take some great shots! 📸✨
I was the same, loving to take photos more for the fun of editing them and then I tried SOOC and now editing feels too much of a hassle. It's also kind of fun to try to get the photos right in camera, not even cropping. That forces you to be more involved during the photo taking rather than relying on softwares to fix the images later.
Awesome BTS and narration Jocelyn, I really enjoyed watching your video. Just one suggestion, your pictures are beautiful, but I would love to see them over the white background instead of black.

@@ChristianVaughn Hi! He’s currently been using the McKinnon Camera Sling 8L, so far he’s been loving it because it fits his small kit he has made himself for street photography (Two small lenses, flash, cleaning kit, filters, batteries, memory cards, and other small personal hygiene products) 💫📸🤙
Props to your Dad for taking you to the city to take pics. My son and I do the same and absolutely love it.

12:35 photo what focal range was that?
