We had a 65 Chevy Impala 2 door hardtop back in the early 70s. One of the best road cars I have ever driven. Smooth, quiet, and pretty decent gas mileage for its time. Wish we still had it.

We had a brand new 1965 chevy, i remeber standing on the front seat when my mother drove me to kindergarten, singing along to the beatles on AM radio, the only problem was those pesky buckle things on the seat.

Chevrolet threw its sibling GM divisions under the bus? What's up with that? Also, Ford advertised for many years that its LTD was "quieter than a Rolls-Royce". Yet Chevy claimed Caprice was quieter than the LTD and Plymouth VIP? Who was right?

I think because it was cheaper. Anyone with means wasn't choosing Chevy over Pontiac, Buick, etc., so it was OK. It was just to make the poors feel better.
