Everybody is looking at Or talking about Rajamouli sir for his enormity of success and the commercial output of his product. I admire him a lot for his grit to push himself & be exemplary to the whole national wide industry and infact he is an inspiration to me. His movies give an adrenaline rush (mostly for the first time which drastically decreases over time), But if you ask me who is the best director, its not rajamouli for me (for many of us and industry insiders as well) and which movies you can watch N number of times with the same emotional quotient, those are not rajamouli movies. The best director for me are RGV & K VISHWANATH garu and the best movies i can binge watch with same emotional quotient forever are SATYA, COMPANY, RAKTHA CHARITRA, Swatimutyam, Sagara sangamam etc. Some might think that im a person with bipolar disorder because normally one with the sensibilities of K vishwanath garu doesnt like RGV's movies and same holds true for vice versa. But what i see in both of them is that no body can reflect the characters of their movies with such respective sensibilities, they want to potray, better than them. It is merely impossible for anybody in future to surpass these and very difficult to emulate these. You ask any director in the telugu industry about the best movies they might have watched more than "the ones i mentioned above", i bet they cant mention one. Even If you ask Rajamouli garu, he has to say that none of his movies can emulate RGV's cult classic like SATYA. So it's not about the success rate, its not about the money but it is ALL about the QUALITY of the product that you make and the feel you deliver to the audience (not just for the first time but for every time they browse ur product). Once u make a product, it need to be engraved in history, not in terms of money because once another movie crosses your record no body talks about ur movie, but in terms of emotional quotient you build with the audience and in terms of the rate at which audience embrace it for the rest of their lives. The only thing that RGV missed but vishwanth garu did was to stop making movies as soon as you realise that your sensibilities are not being liked by the audience anymore.
RGV has and had the potential to take awesome movies. He is not living up to his full potential moment. But the moment he unlearns things he is a biggest threat to any director in India
Surprised that RGV did not use the word 'emotions'. SS Rajamouli's movies have all the VFX, scale, grandeur etc etc but the underlying current that makes those movies a hit are the basic human 'emotions'.
to summarize - RGV analyzes the extremely positive effect of SSR on film industry and the cultural impact, his courage to expand the boundaries of film making, his way of appealing to all classes of people which he himself can never do and finally SSR is somewhat like a covert Howard Roark from Fountainhead - who is a hero like none other. Why don't you make Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged books as film/ series sir? You emphasis about them alot and we got lots of curiosity about them. You did not like Fountainhead black and white movie. As a film maker, why can't you make a movie about that book along with Atlas Shrugged in you style.
