I had an apportunity to go to two One Ok Rock concerts. After my first one I came back to the hotel room where my mum was waiting for me and let me tell you this. I've never seen my mum so happy in my life. She was so calm yet so joyfull and she was just looking at me with this amazing smile on her face. I asked her if anything happened and she said something that I will never forget. She said that she actually never saw me so happy and calm in my entire life. She told me that just by looking at me she can feel how possitive and carefree I am. I swear to god if she could she would just go to find One Ok Rock and tell them how gratefull she is. That's the power these guys have. Their energy and talent make people glad they are alive to witness this masterpiece. Every person who went to One Ok Rock concert later gives that energy to people around them. That's why I appreciate and admire this band so much.

Taka's parents are both very famous singers in Japan. They divorced about 2004-5. Taka being the eldest son went with his mum (though he was already living on his own) and took his mother's maiden name (it's a big deal for japanese registry to change your family name). Taka and his dad finally reconciled around 2012-3 and Taka changed back his name. That song "Hard to Love" pretty much summarises the up and down his relationship with his dad who was a really strict old-school style disciplinarian. Other than "Hard to Love", he writes quite a few songs in Japanese like Nobody's Home about his parents & family. Most of the Japanese songs by OOR are written and produced by Taka and the band members themselves eg. Clock Strikes is produced by Taka and Toru. Only the recent two English albums had other co-writers & producers.

I've listened to OneOkROck for years but have not yet seen them in concert =( No one comes to the West side of Canada including Kpop unless i head East to Toronto *sigh* But I so happy you experienced them and enjoy their music! One Ok Rock and BTS are two of my ultimate groups from each country because of their music and lyrics and dedication to their fans =D You should watch " Rurounin Kenshin Live Action Move 1 & 2 " as this move was the movie One Ok Rock had their songs "The Beginning" and "Mighty Long Fall" be the ending feature song and I think this is what really let them become more exposed to the west as well. The move is based of a very popular manga and anime in japan and they did a great job of it by turning it into a live action movie! The lead actor and Taka are friends so it was great to see this collab! IF you do end up watching the movies, please make a video on what you thought about it! Snow Freezer dallas lol. dallas is a 2 hour drive, Houston is about 5 hours so we went to the Dallas show instead, oddly enough, I still have yet to see fancam from our show
ohh great haha!! Nevertheless you are so damn lucky, even just to see them in person is enough bro. And wht im amazed by this band was in spite of that "rock" feels, screaming and going crazy, this band can create such a beautiful love song yknow. And Taka himself wrote that song and when you look out the lyric, fuhh!! its so damn deep and heartwarming (cuz most of their "romance song" was in japanese so you have to check out later). Its very rare to see such a "rock band" pull out their soft side and kinda sad feeling to it. at the concert i went to in Michigan we had a ring of fire a mosh pit and a wall of death and i was in all of them! i almost died, i lost a shoe, my glasses broke, IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!, TAKA was so hype, he crowd surfed on me !! ryota took of his shirt! i dont even know what happened i was headbanging so much! everyone was just crazy it was pure insanity! we were all crying through we are, i was crying like a bitch lmao
princess SEEING THEM LIVE WAS AMAZING!! that energy that they have just spreads into the crowd and you want to destroy and hug and punch and love everyone around you haha.
