Found this while looking for answers to what a jump box is while studying cyber security, excellent video as well as incredibly cool to see an answer to stuff ive been learning
Hi Benjamin ! You really know how to explain things.I hope you will have the time to record more videos and maybe a Udemy course that we can buy 🙂 A big thx for this one.
Hi Benjamin. Thank you for this well explained video. I couldn't help but think, does the jumpbox need to be in a DMZ? In the diagrams I didn't see any affiliation between the firewall(s) and jump box
Hi ! Very clear and usefull. It changes from tutorials which only say it's a way to secure your hosts and bla-blabla... Do you know which opensource JB is good (or w.n the best) ? Thanks Regards EJB
Oh man, that video/audio sync drives me nuts, but I'm not talented enough to get it quite right in editing. I think I've finally figured out what's causing (at least some) of it. I've been running my webcam through a USB hub. Most of the time it's close enough that I don't notice, but the other day I was recording a video and an rsync backup job started that writes to an HDD plugged in to the same USB hub, thus saturating the USB bus with data. It wreaked havoc on my recording and taught me a valuable lesson. From now, only plugging in directly and minimizing any USB activity!
Yep! They are the same thing. It can be confusing because there's a lot of different names for essentially the same thing. Terms I've heard: - Jump Box - Bastion Host - Jump Server - Bastion Node - Gateway Server (usually in regards to SSH or SSH tunnels such as to a database on a VPC) - And one place I worked with called it a "Sentry Node"
I dont understand the logic putting jumpbox instead of using recommended settings if you are using key base authentication along with the mfa why jumpbox need it... Even if jumpbox compromise it still save the history of command access
one of the best explanation i've ever seen!! we missed you Benjamin ...Please keep making videos ..love from INDIA ❤🇮🇳

Excellent video man. The only thing I noticed was that it is a little bit out of sync with the audio, but the content was spot on.

Thank you so much, you simplified the process for me tremendously.
Hi man thank you So much, "Does Jumb box only work on the SSH port?"
azure bastion is the overall service and azure bastion host is the jump box deployed by the azure bastion service?
Very good explanation. Thanks!
Excellent explanation
Is a jump box similar or the same as a jump server?
Yep! They are the same thing. It can be confusing because there's a lot of different names for essentially the same thing. Terms I've heard:

Excellent explanation! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent explanation from great man
Long et good explanations but can be definitely shortnen. No specifications jump box solution when referenced. Theory is good. Practice is better.
