I think "knock off" has too many negative connotations. I saw somebody else call them "Inspired By Tamagotchi", and I feel like that's a more positive spin on it. Because, sometimes "knock offs" can be as good, or better than the original item.
Especially considering how much the Pix has been a disappointment, with it's short battery life, and bad touch buttons. I thought that they would fix it with the Party models, but they seem to be just as bad. They feel like a huge step backwards from the Mix/Meets line. And, I think they are using the low sales of that Digimon smart watch pedometer thing that they released in the USA with minimal Digimon branding on it, as a reason that they probably won't bring the Smart to the USA. I think the problem with America, is that we are still stuck in this mindset where toys are just for kids, but in Japan they have known for a long time that toys are for everyone.

i can read chinese though not that well. the first one says xing zuo which is chinese for astrology/zodiac. the bottom pink words are dian zi chong wu ji meaning digital pet machine/device. the last line says ling yang shu yu ni de xing zuo bao bao meaning adopt your very own zodiac/astrology baby. second device: left side - guo nei yuan chuang originated from our own country (China). speech bubble on the left: huan yin hui dao xue xiao meaning welcome back to school. words on the right: pei yang cheng zhang meaning nourish and grow. hope it helps. don't know how you can reach out but if you need help with the chinese do reach out?
This video made me realise I probably never had an original Tamagotchi by Bandai but a "knock off". 😅 We just called them "Tamagotchi", whether they were original or not. Oh well, fortunately it's not too late to get into the hobby for real. 😊

They actually made an updated Touma Pet? It would be great if you did a video about the differences. All that I know is that the screen and body are slightly bigger, and that the designs on the shells have changed. It would be interesting to see if the software or character roster has been updated in any way.

I bought the toumapet version 2 via temu and then my interest piqued and then i bought toumapet version 1 on aliexpress and i found out there is like a wrist band for it to make it similar to the tamagotchi uni and smart from bandai cuz it makes it a (tama)watch and after watching multiple videos about toumapet, including yours, i just can't wait to start!! There aren't that much videos about touma pet on here so the multiple videos i watched are mostly on repeat. Too hyped to wait actually. I got a tamagotchi pix a while back and i am still addicted to it but to buy more offcial bandai ones is not in my wallet range. I love how the toumapet sounds like a furby. Makes me feel nostalgia for my old Furby named Glenn. Sorry for the long message but i felt like sharing 😅😊

The Tamagezi easily rivals Bandai Devices and sometimes surpasses a good number of them in variety alone.
Certainly better than the Pix.
