  • FOX 5 coverage of the Joe Cogbill (Porche Speedster) and Rock Vest (Datsun 2000 Fairlady) crash at the last lap and the last turn at the Bridge turn at Road Atlanta at the Valvoline Sports Car Club of America National Championships in 1990. Rock's desperation move denied both drivers a chance to win and Vest was the more unfortunate recipient of the crash after
an excellent and competitive race. Cogbill was denied a fourth national championship and could not restart the car to just make it down the hill as the electric kill switch on the cowl was smashed to the dash and the car would not fire up as the battery was shorted out. All that had to be done was to roll down the hill across the finish line to
win the race but it was not meant to be!! Jack Wheeler in the Triumph TR4 was the victor as E production National Champion with Hardy Prentice second and Vic Skirmants third.
