Seckou's smile meets Catrin's...when music leaves you in awe, all you can do is smile as it takes your breath away! Thank you for this sublime rendition of a masterpiece! Respect!!!
discovered this pair a few days ago and cant stop listening to this piece so beautiful it makes you wan to cry Music really hath power to soothe a savage beast...the peace this piece instills.... just wonderful
Such an incredible feeling of freedom - pure musical escapism. This is my favourite track from SOAR, love how the harp and kora sound together and how they seem to magnify each other's beautiful sonority.
I love how one motif agreeably dissociates into the reciprocal restoration of another. Outstanding work. Unaffected ebullience; hallowed, in the sincerest sense.
It appears that Monty and Alys have left the Dyfi, on their migration, what better time to watch and listen to this again, felt quite choked, sounds better every time I hear it.
Brings you to tears of joy, ,to see how these people from so different cultures find unity in music, and have fun playing together ! We should all learn to play music, I guess
These two and their music are genuinely amazing. I saw Seckou Keita at 'Folk by the Oak' a while back, and Catrin Finch was supposed to be there too but could not make it. Luckily, I had the chance to see them together after Seckou's amazing performance alone (he played songs from his album '22 Strings', I highly recommend), and it was absolutely stunning. These two have such a wonderful dynamic, and they sound beautiful and wonderful on their own, but even more so when playing together. If you ever have the chance or opportunity to see them play together, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed! I love these two and their music. Just two wonderful people coming together to make stunning music.
Wow...that's beautiful. Can't wait to see them live in June 2020. Oh and the Canadian Acadian band Vishtèn are supporting them too and they're incredible....happy days!
I like harp music, but having spent countless afternoons on Clarach beach, I cannot ‘hear’ Clarach in this music. Clarach features penny arcades, fixed caravans, a cafe, a stream which takes a different course across the pebble beach every few months, an on shore wind and of course the sea. There’s also a cliff top walk south to Aberystwyth or north to Wallog. A favourite holiday destination for midlanders.
Hahaha, we learned in school that "there are classic instruments (the real ones) and those of different cultures". What makes a kora different from a classic harp???? Nothing. LOL
In a so terrible period for human rights, this special music remember us that Europe and Africa have to walk together. Thank you so much.

All the complex simplicity and beautiful harmonies; it's almost a modern day Pachelbel. Stunning.
I love how one motif agreeably dissociates into the reciprocal restoration of another. Outstanding work. Unaffected ebullience; hallowed, in the sincerest sense.
Just two wonderful musicians. Absolutely beautiful.
Lovely. We saw them in the Bath Music Fest about 5 or 6 years ago now. It was a special evening!
