Ok I have a theory. It's a bit far-fetched, but I think Vader is Luke's father. It would only make sense. He didn't kill him in the last movie, and in the trailer when that voice said there was anger in him, much like his FATHER. Not to mention, Vader also means Father in Dutch. I'm calling it.
Dude there’s no way that Vader is Luke’s father, that’s impossible. The only thing that would make less sense is if Leia was his sister or something, but that’s really far-fetched isn’t it?
If they retcon Vader to be Luke's father they will absolutely RUIN the previous film. Everything in the original film pointed to Luke's father being a good guy. It would be ridiculous to change that out of the blue. How are they going to explain Ben Kenobi lying?

I love how you cut out Yoda everywhere except for the closing line. That, along with avoiding the Vader/Luke reveal makes this probably the best fanmade ESB trailer cut to date. Theres been a few really solid ones done in the past, but they trade too much on the notion that we've seen it before so its ok to spoil. You cut this like a first release trailer. Bravo, sir
Also no AT ATs, No Ben Kenobi, Lando portrayed as a bad guy, Luke dialogue edited to sound like he’s taking to Vader about the dark side being stronger ;) thanks a lot dude for noticing.

Imagine an ESB trailer that ends with a bomb shell like "No, I am you father".
Imagining a world where prequels are the original and this trailer coming out. "Hey, that's Boba Fett!"

The misdirection is brilliant to the point that it’s core theme isn’t a misdirection at all. When I hear Luke say “I’m looking for a great warrior” and pans to Vader, it really represents the beauty that Luke needs the father he never had and Vader needs the son he thought was lost. Literal chills in that moment. So good!

Fan-made modern trailers are a dime a dozen on TH-cam, but this one stands out. From the snippet of a deleted scene (i.e. Wampa grabbing a Snowtrooper) to concealing Yoda’s appearance and the AT-ATs, this really captures the true spirit of a movie trailer. Plus, it’s a trailer for my all-time favourite movie...what more could I want? Well done! :-)
You know how billion dollar movie companies get mad when fans make better trailers for way cheaper

And my favorite star wars film as well. Love how they added the deleted scene of the wampas invading Hoth base. Too good!

when those are the shots and audio you have to edit with its easier, but this one is special so you are right my friend!
Empire has to be the best sequel ever. It expanded the universe to a mind-boggling degree and it flipped the entire original Stars Wars film on its head. I can only imagine seeing this movie in the theaters and being like, "OMG, what am I even watching?!?!" I was born a few years after, but I grew up with these films. I wish I could have experienced watching Empire in the theater. In terms of sequels, I don't know how you can possibly beat this movie.
I watched Empire in the theaters as a kid. And yes, it's true - all of it. Most amazing sci-fi movie experience ever!
I watched Empire as a 6 year old kid when it was released- Had chills when the the movie started and was shaking- was an AMAZING experience- There was so many people waiting in line at the theater that it made the local news- the crowd cheering and clapping at the end of the movie was amazing to feel and witness.
Aliens is the best sequel ever. Empire is 2nd.
We saw it in one of those old giant cinemas on a boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey. Seemed cavernous. Made some of the newer cinemas that came out later seem like your basement.

this was definitely your best work yet! it definitely felt like a disney quality trailer, and revealed the perfect amount
If this were a movie made today, millions of people would've picked the trailer apart piece by piece until together they gave us a basic storyline and wild predictions (some of which are accurate) to make it so every major scene was already told to you beforehand.
There'd also be a lot of whining in the comments section about how it doesn't look as good as the first film, and why it's totally going to suck because there won't be any Obi-wan, and it's somehow "woke" because the only female cast member is getting more than twenty minutes screen-time.
People are way too critical of things they haven't seen these days.

@@jamesgravil9162 I don't see that at all. Nobody slammed the upcoming Endgame trailer like that. People were looking forward to it. But after you've been fed a steady diet of crap for awhile (like Phase IV MCU) you become more jaded. Fact of life.

There is so much to love about this! Intensity, intrigue, action, drama. But the true win here is that you managed to contain anything that might be considered a spoiler for an audience that wouldn't have seen ESB yet. Amazing work! Made me feel like I was in 1979. (And I wasn't even alive then!)

This legit is amazing, and you've already set the bar very high. It might be the best one yet. It shows the movie so well, without any major spoilers, and even a few misdirects, but still building up some payoff when the actual reveals happen in the movie (like the last sentence in this trailer). ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Truly, this trailer brought back everything I loved about the film when I saw it on opening night in 1980 on a huge screen...before the internet, before spoilers, when the big reveal near the end silenced 1000 audience members into only a huge collective gasp. In retrospect, it truly is the GOAT and was the high point of my experience with this concept and series.
The big reveal that Homer Simpson revealed to everyone in line for the next showing... classic Simpsons.
I have to say it…I just have to…George Lucas was a genius out of film school. Had that man never married, had kids, got his heart broken, the prequels would’ve been amazing. I saw ‘Empire’ in a theatre on its first night. Nothing has ever impressed me as much as this film. This was cinematic perfection.
Also best line of all time…
“Sir, the temperature is dropping too rapidly”
Han-“That’s right, and my friend is out in it!”
“Your Tauntaun will freeze before you reach the first marker!”
“Then I’ll see you in hell!”

@@Ari-ww3fv He divorced his wife who helped make A new Hope, and this movie Empire Strikes. Think it was rights to his wife finally ran out, then he made the prequels. Shrug, kind of complicated situation.

BRO! I loved the absence of atats in the trailer. Imagine if this was real and audiences would be going into the movie completely blind to the coolest vehicle in Star Wars. The audience reactions would be Andrew/Tobey NWH good.

Just rewatched and I noticed after 0:59 the way it is edited sounds like Luke is asking Vader if the Dark Side is stronger. Nice misdirect, kinda plays into what Lucas did with the original ROTJ trailers, teasing that Luke might turn to the dark side

I recently rewatched Empire Strikes Back and it was amazing as always. Every time I see it, it makes me a bit mad that the sequels were so terrible. Imagine if the sequel movies were as good as Empire...

This movie is one of my all time favourite star wars movies behind Revenge of the Sith and this trailer makes it 10x better

There are actually two wampas in the trailer. The one that is seen clearly and one whose claw grabs a snowtrooper
Superb. I like how you took care not to spoil the "Yoda Reveal".
I love that the trailer has many misdirections that hide the plot and would make the audience even more surprised if they saw it for the first time. For example, when Luke asks if the dark side is stronger, the trailer makes it seem like he is asking this to Vader. Also, I loved that their confrontation in Bespin is hidden but the one in the cave isn’t, making it seem like that would be the real one
Puke Groundflyer and Han Cholo suddenly get destroyed in the aluminum falcon while trying the kentucky fried chicken run, to get chicken for a creepy green goblin who became that way from too many young padowans.
This is absolutely amazing, it would’ve been better if you added the original emperor, but I love the small details and music you chose!
LOVE the use of what looks like a deleted scene? The snow trooper getting pulled in by the ice monster? Amazing

Great work on a modern ad. Absolute chills. Noticeable lack of Bespin fight or carbonate freezing. Not giving too much away.
This was really well done. I liked that Yoda was only barely glimpsed and that the final battle between Luke and Vader wasn't shown, only the vision on Dagobah. Great work keeping the big reveals hidden.

This one serves perfectly as an actual release trailer, there are no spoilers and some big teasers, leaving questions and no answers. It doesn't succumb to the temptation to put spoilers into and leaving the very best for the actual movie. It's very sensible and well made.

I liked how the trailer carefully avoided spoilers like showing the AT-ATs and Yoda (as well as the old trick of using deleted scenes), but then it tripped right at the finish line with that quote lol

Never get tired of new trailers for the classic Star Wars trilogy (and these can't be so simple to make so thanks for all your effort)
When I was a kid my Mom worked at a mall and we had no babysitter. So everyday I went to the mall and went to the theater for 8 hours. I must have seen Empire 2-3x a day for 2 months. I saw it 20x a week for my entire summer vacation in 1980. What a great summer. I remember the ushers just let me stay in my seat. Some even gave me free popcorn and drinks.
Those transitions between the different motifs were incredible.

really, really great edit! if i was to suggest anything, it's maybe having some version of the imperial march as the title is shown at the end, and using yoda's reply of 'you will be...you will be', to luke's 'i'm not afraid'. Keep up the great work!
