It's so sad that Nigeria is not making progress in every facet of her national life both in politics and now sports. We don't learn from the past and not making any progress. The Benin coach that they said is not good enough for the super eagles that they sacked, where's the better coach that they have brought for the national team ever since. Today's game was won and lost from the bench. Just look at the bunch of talents in the Nigerian team, what the team needs is a tactically sound manager and not this trial and error they're doing. If they do the right thing Nigeria can still qualify.

Thank you so much for your spot-on analysis. From day one, since Nff started wasting so much time in announcing Peseiro's replacement, I knew they got it wrong. At the beginning they were doing well. In fact, from reliable source, they were going to announce the Spaniard new Manager, before whatever took over them, happened to them and said Hey these people have taken their country 10 years backward.

Finidi is trying to build a team around young player young players need experience. Nigeria had higher possession against south africa and benin but they didn't score and they also conceded. First Nigeria needs to bring back William Troost Ekong, Balogun, Kenneth Omeruo. Also, Finidi may have gotten his selection wrong with respect to striker selection. He needs to find a way to make his strike partnership work because he is blessed for choice. If he can sort out his strike partnership and don't concede a goal then we would have worn both games convincingly. If you can't put the ball at the back of the net and not concede silly goals you won't win a football game. If you observe paseimero and Rohr they built there super eagles teams around resolut defence. Even mourino who has won a lot of trophies as a coach build all his winning teams around a solid defence. Also, either Nigerians put a lot of pressure on Finidi or Finidi is putting a lot of pressure on the players. He should stick to the old guard who are tried, tested and proven in official matches. And have more international friendlies to try our new players. That was what pasemiro did. Finidi is trying to make Super eagles a possesion based team which plays attacking football but if given the chance he should build his strike force and defence around the old guard for official matches and integrate new players in international friendlies. You can't achieve both in one go. You can't cut your cake and have it the way you want. He needs to learn to prioritise. Integrating new players takes time. He should stop taking knee jerk reaction. He should also learn to be humble and listen to advice around him. Then he can then integrate good advice and discard bad advice. He can also learn from his Ivory coast counter par Fae, he didn't make radical changes to playing staff. He just changed the system or the way they play and made them more efficient. That's what Finidi should be doing.
Finidi reduced a team that played in the finals of Afcon to a team that Benin is beating. Guess what? Benin beat us in the same Cote D Ivoire that we didn't lose to any other team except the host in the finals. We are going down let's admit. Nigerian stop inviting all these average and not coordinated players , our best 11 should come from our local league and they should train together at least twice a month, football is the same everywhere but some players are more gifted than other ,a country that does not value his home grown products will never Excel in anything .
