Spanish roundabouts are the same and work on the same principle as any other roundabout in the world. They are used wrongly in Spain because the official body in charge of traffic matters do not understand them and do not understand the correct use.
The way the have achived to confuse spanish drivers has come out with most of the doing maneouvres that create most accidents on them, and they do create thousands yearly. Funny enough the same official Body has discovered some years ago, a kind of roundabout that eliminates those accidents:

So by using the lanes in the correct original matter, the most common accidents in spanish roundabouts do disasapear.
Here is another video of whta spanish driving schools, and that official body think is the correct use and on it we ca see the most common accident. It represents 90% of the accidents that happen on them in Spain:
