    Like your work attitude, like your style, like to watch you fixing old stuff and make it work somehow. Just like your channel. Keep going.

    As I kid I used to walk to that Wendy’s when it first opened for Frosty’s with my friends. Before that we’d walk to the Christy’s next door for Slush Puppies. Nice to see the old neighborhood. Keep the videos coming. Kids these days need to see what honest hard work looks like.

    They make ballistic safety glasses that are designed to stop not just dust and stuff but metal shavings and all sorts of things that get kicked up or thrown around by operating machines. Definitely worth the investment, eyes don't tend to grow back.

    Not much dairy farming left in Vermont! We sold our heard this summer plus Thomas dairy in Rutland just closed down October 1st

      I got it out quicker then I did last season after finishing up. Not sure if we will do more grass or not. Have a small field to definitely chop for a wedding this weekend. Using a GoPro 8 and its been really good, I see there is a 9 now, havent looked into what changed with them

      @@DuffyAg are you using any kind of an external microphone?

    • @DuffyAg
      @DuffyAg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not using a mic on the GoPro, run it without a case on but started getting welder marks on the lens so that may change. A while back i used a T7i camera and a mic but it was to big and heavy to always have around

    Thanks again for these videos! They will be invaluable for when we try to get it fitted on our 690. Isn't it possible to leave the feed/chop unit attached to the header when you disconnect it? Then just reverse the machine off of it. I maybe wrong but that's how we were told it was done. Not had to do it ourselves yet though. Hope the road trip went well - looking forward to the video!

    I respect the shit out of you Duffy. You need to build that rack to hold that pronto rather than letting someone you don't trust with you up underneath inserting pins. It is not good policy and if it never killed you it would maim the crap out of you and you couldn't hug your kids. Start having a big rag in your back pocket you will get more money custom chopping looking cleaner. Not trying to say you don't but you are a winner and you need to look it.

    • @DuffyAg
      @DuffyAg  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats for sure hoping to this winter. When I'm under it it has the pivot pins on so it could only drop so far down

    • @DuffyAg

      I agree, havent found one in a store when im passing thru and just havent ordered one online. want a 1 inch Milwaukee gun first for changing tires

  • @gabrielbrookesagri9752

    Couldn't you keep the kernel processor in for chopping grass, just make the gap bigger? Loving the vids

    • @DuffyAg
      @DuffyAg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would more then likely plug up in grass you can not open them up very much. Uses more horsepower and wears on the processors

  • @svenvandevorstenbosch4503
    @svenvandevorstenbosch4503 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you really need to pull out the curnel processor for gras or could you just leave it in for grass if your not in a mood to pull it out?

    • @kyleblair4764
      @kyleblair4764 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can but it takes a lot of power(fuel) to run it and it wears it out much faster... very expensive to replace rollers and bearings

    Dude! Digging the content. What's up with the front collar with all your shirts?

    • @DuffyAg
      @DuffyAg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @codyleight7934
    @codyleight7934 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    For hay could you just back the kernel processor all the way off and leave it on?

    • @DuffyAg
      @DuffyAg  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It uses more power for 1 and forcing hay thru such a small gap would cause more wear and tear and un needed headaches

  • @cmdrbigbob

    Interesting you want to run earlage. I've never seen it used for dairy cows

    • @DuffyAg
      @DuffyAg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lots of dairy's in the north east use high moisture or earlage to replace bought in grain. The people I bought the chopper from did a good amount

  • @josephh7155
    @josephh7155 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    What type of oil is spread on the kernel processor? Doesn't the cows eat the feed passing through?

    • @PaulButkiewicz
      @PaulButkiewicz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably used motor oil. Plentiful on a farm. Just hit it with degreaser and a rinse first time out next season.

    What I don't understand why it was all that expensive machinery out of the way let it rust in the shed, it would be the battery life greatly extended in my opinion.
