  • Enjoy my SECRET SAUCE of how to order Pokemon Cards internationally!!! This has been really fun for me to learn and grow my collection with over the past year or so of proxy ordering and I don't mind giving out my "secret sauce" because heck... it's no secret! It just requires a bit more brain work to properly search. Although exact MSRP isn't always possible, I'd say we get much closer with this process. And yes you can score MSRP pricing from the Pokemon Center! (sometimes...)
    This is a longer one so grab some popcorn and come chill. Trust me, I already cut out maybe an hours worth of time of me just rambling so this is the "short version". haha I realized after that this was a TON of information to unpack. Hopefully down the road I can tackle this topic again with a bit more strategy and organization behind it. As I mention in the video too, this is a topic well covered by other TH-camrs out there but few mention how to order directly from the Pokemon Center using one of these Proxy services or walk you through it step by step with screen share. Speaking of, there are many trusted proxy services out there, but in my video and based on my experience, I will be covering how to order cards (or anything really!) using Buyee.jp. (No Im not paid or sponsored in any way by Buyee)

    Is it safer to let buyee take a photo when the order arrived at the warehouse or wait and check myself if everythings fine. And if something is missing when the stuff arrived from japan, do I get my money back because I had the standard insurance for 500 yen or how does that work?

    I really appreciate your video!!
    I have a question, when you buy single cards. do you pay the fee for each one?
    from what I understood if you buy different cards but from the same seller only one fee applies.
    When buying several items from the same seller, does Buyee automatically apply only one fee?

    • @HoloPonyta
      @HoloPonyta  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! If you buy on Yahoo Japan or Mercari JP, yes the $5 buyee fee applies to each purchase which is frustrating. I've found the best way to buy bulk single cards Is on Rakuten. There are sellers on there with massive catalogs that organize their cards by [Rank A] or [Rank B] by condition. I always buy my singles there and buy 20-100+ cards and there's only 1 $5 fee attached. Hope that helps!

    Wow a lot of great information and very helpful! I also tried too many times to order from the pokemon center japan using a proxy service but still got rejected lol but your method using buyee seems way easier and it works, so thanks! Also quick question, what do you use for your overlays on the video?

    • @HoloPonyta

      Aw so great to hear, glad it helped you! Yeah Im not sure why my orders got randomly rejected. :/ Oh well... It seems to work occasionally. As far as overlays, I record in OBS with 2 video sources and then just added a webcam frame image I designed in Adobe Illustrator. Pretty simple! Thanks for the comment!

    • @HoloPonyta
      @HoloPonyta  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I see that occasionally too. No, nothing you can do. Buyee has basically prohibited interactions with that seller for some reason. I just skip those. Maybe you can reach out to Buyee if you feel it's unfair.

    hey im thinking of getting 5 booster boxes from Pokémon center and mercari but im worried about the shipping costs and dont know if it will double the cost just for shipping and end up paying $800 instead of the original $300. any advice would be helpful

    • @HoloPonyta
      @HoloPonyta  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent question! Mercari and Pokemon Center both should be free domestic shipping which is the good part. For point of reference, I once purchased 10 vmax climax booster boxes off mercari and shipped it home with other booster boxes creating a pretty large box (58 × 45 × 38 cm & 7,110g) which cost me $120 to ship home. My guess for 5 booster boxes would be around the $50-60 area *crossing fingers*. Unfortunately it's hard to tell until Buyee package consolidates and gives the final weight/dims. Overall, that should give you a rough idea though! :) Best of luck!

    Is it possible to preorder with buyee? I wanna get the extras for the scarlet+violet game from the Pokemon Store but I'm not sure if you can only order stuff that is in store. Does anybody know?

    • @HoloPonyta
      @HoloPonyta  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can answer! The best way I know of to pre-order anything from the PC JP, is to sign up for an account with Tenso. Buyee recently does not support PC JP purchases, especially not pre-orders now. I've been able to pre-order by purchasing with my PC JP account and plugging in my Tenso address once set up. Look up a video about how to type in the address properly though as it was tricky! I sent a test order first too to make sure it worked. Good luck!

    By the way, the whole idea of going through this process is because it is way cheaper to buy Japanese cards directly from Japan correct?
    For example, is using Ebay from a 100% positive rated seller with a high review count a bad idea because of pricing? Or because of possible scams? Or both?
    Just curious what your thoughts were and whether you have ever used American websites for buying Japanese cards?

    • @HoloPonyta
      @HoloPonyta  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh good question! I should’ve addressed this. Actually ordering from ebay in the US has much more seller/buyer protection in my opinion but it’s more expensive to buy Japanese Pokémon products/cards on eBay in the US (usually). Especially when you want to buy many things in “bulk”, eBay isn’t the cheapest. So I’ve been importing with Buyee to save on cost despite having a lower amount of buyer protection. (I’ve opened 5+ claims with Buyee for example on purchases and all 5 have been denied a refund for various reasons where eBay probably would’ve refunded me.) Hope that helps and makes sense!

    Hi thank you for this, Is there anything I should be careful about with scams etc ? Do PayPal refund you if you do get scammed ? Ie ; sent the wrong item or damaged stuff ?

    • @HoloPonyta
      @HoloPonyta  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hehe thanks, yeah my cat loves that spot! Definitely always be careful about scams. Ive learned the hard way: "if it's too good to be true, it probably is". A few times I have asked Buyee for a refund for an order and they've never backed me up once. They'll say I should've read the translated description more carefully or once I claimed a different card arrived than was pictured and they denied it. You can ask paypal to refund you but they will take it from Buyee and from there they wont let you purchase or bid until your debt is settled kind of thing. Hope this helps!
