I can only imagine that most people that are mentally trapped in these controlling-type sects of religion are just miserable people and one of the only ways some of them are capable of making themselves feel better for 5 minutes is to bully the weak around them. I hope you are healing from all of the judgement you had to live through. Your story is important!
I am a born in from the sixties! There all kinds of crap that goes on inside Kingdom Halls! Single women are treated like harlots unless they pioneer! I from a large family, I don't recall being invited to JW parties! Unless it was to buy tubberware are something. I am surprised that some exJW talk about parties and pool parties. Not here! Good enough to have book study and Saturday field service but not good enough to get invites! Anyhow, never liked how some women married or single flirted with elders. Some had fantasy about elders wives dying then they become elder next wife. Most elders are so dam creepy looking.

They definitely picked and chose who they invited. I was so, mean girl vibe. These people were the ones we were supposed to spend eternity with.
