Would laser resurfacing help with steroid caused atrophy?
My sk8n is so thin that a box can cut it and bruised it what should I do
Tretinoin for thinned skin due to the use of steroids can u please elaborate a little bit more?? BTW thanks a lot for this
And yes, whilst i was in hospital for merely 10 days i lost 16 lbs of weight! I have lost a lot on the bottom half of my face, and it has caused me severe anxiety! Thanks NHS!!
Sorry but I found this doctor frustratingly defensive and basically blaming ‘dumb’ patients for not being smart consumers. Most physicians are turnstile and don’t take the time to explain all these fine details and risks in a 10 minute consult. Why can’t there be more flashing warnings in the medicine packets rather than a wall of font size 2 microscopic text 😢. He spent 5 minutes giving a sermon about how amazing topical steroids are so in case the medical fraternity was listening then he said all the right things. Another tsw denier blaming patients 🙄
I totally agree with you that the package warning needs to change. Unfortunately not all doctors understand the consequences of TS. And the FDA doesn't seem to have made any progress on updating warnings in the US this far. I know ITSAN is working on moving things forward, but it's an uphill battle that they need all the support they can get.
Topical steroids are the golden nectar for dermatologists - look at psoriasis treatments .. all the meds are pumped with cortico steroids.. There is no money in a non-medicine regimen.. I.e. Abstinence from steroids ain’t good for business. They don’t want to know or hear about it. I discovered tsw by accident - I’ve had it for 20 years! 😰😰 after 2 months of abstinence I feel better than in the last 10 years.. This has taken so much of the prime of my life 🥹 and in this interview the doctor cleverly avoided the question altogether- I.e. fixing thin skin!! Why ? Because it’s from the steroids! So if he was to provide the solution he would contradict his earlier sermon about the loveable wonder drug topical steroids! And the solution is abstinence and a diet full of protein and collagen rich foods . Unlike the doctors dismissive denial reply, the collagen does come back! My lips are full than someone stung by bees!!
All the alternatives he is talking about is BS.
I used every alternative but nothing helped in my TSW situation. This doc is very pessimistic. Thinning of skin can reverse if you stop steroids and stop going to doctors. In my second year of TSW I am much confident it is a doctor’s created condition.
I'm confuse, my derma ask me to stop using tretinoin cause she saw an early signs of skin thinning because I've been using mometasone long term.
Same !!! My dermatologist also ordered me to stop using retinol ..🥲 it’s confusing
How long have you been using mometasone? Ive been using it for 2 years for my rosacea and just stopped it 2 months ago. The withdrawal is insane !!
Ive had a serious wound for over 3 years after having an emergency operation on my groin, which turned out to be an absess. It then turned into a fistula to which might cost me anythng up to 25 operations and still no damned cure so what is the point? I have spent over £3,000 to treat this fistula myself because doctors will not provide me with any medication, or wound dressings but happy to give me operations! I am disgusted, i have been treating this myself for over 3 years, and i am 78 years old and entitled to free prescription ! I think it is an utter disgrace!! Doctors should check my amazon account and see the amount of medications of just about every type and stacks of wound dressings! i think its time i complained to my MP. I am from East End of London.
He even didn't say anything is there any chance for getting better the thin skin back by using steroid creams?
❤...Face-to-face note is more best...?
It's good Topic & presentation but, with out notes..?
i used a cortisone cream on my leg for a few months..i noticed my skin seems abit loose..i am older....very disappointed ..in the effects..i stopped using it...hoping i can reverse the effect...
Is ur leg skin get repaired
hA HA GO BACK TO THE DOCTOR??? HE WONT EVEN GIVE ME A PLASTER!
CANT WATCH NO MORE OF THIS. I HATE MEDICAL RUBBISH STEROIDS ETC.ETC.ETC.
But I have heard skin go back to normal thickeness. But takes a lot of time. Isn't it so?
I have skin thinning caused by steroids after just one week of using them. It’s on my cheeks and it feels extremely tight and uncomfortable.
Did you have it too ? Did it improve ?
@@Dan24.hi has yours improved in any way?
Is it back to normal
@@bushybrows4050 Yes the tight and uncomfortable feeling is gone. I don’t think I even had skin thinning honestly. The steroids just made my skin extremely dry.
Now however I’m dealing with the opposite problem. I was convinced that the steroids damaged my skin long term so I did research and found out about TSW and no moisture therapy. I decided to give it a try and didn’t wash my skin at all not even with water and since doing this my entire face and also hair and scalp are very greasy and oily and there is nothing I can do about it 😔 I ruined my life and can’t even recognize myself anymore. Don’t do the mistakes I’ve did.
