condensed means packed for an actively mitotic cells chromatin should be loosely packed as dna replication has to take place and as u know in prophase metaphase anaphase the dna is loosely arranged in cell . so it will be stained lightly i hope you get it
@@kukudukoo30 The DNA starts becoming tightly packaged in the beginning of mitosis (prophase) it is only loosely coiled and not packed around histones during the S-phase. Considering the Interphase lasts longest, (G1,S,G2 phase) about 18-20 hours meanwhile the mitosis phase (prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase) only lasts 1 hour it is more likely for the DNA to be loosely coiled when making histological sections. I did a bit searching and I think it works like this from my understanding.
