The Mesabi Miner...neither rain nor shine can take away from the majesty of the Miner. And when she makes her turn into the Canal, you know she's in charge. My thanks to Capt Paul Berger, the Miner crew and Interlake for taking such good care of this beautiful ship. And to you for bringing such an atmospheric and detailed video of my favorite Laker.
@@1Long2Short Thank you...your final view of her fading away into those ominous clouds in the distance was just awesome as the lightening flashes.Your departures shots are always tops. So sorry you got wet in that downpour .....
Another awesome video, thanks. Nasty bit of weather nicely captured -- rain, thunder, lightning and into all of this goes the Mesabi Miner with her approximate 68,000 tons of taconite. I love that you captured the pilot house with its lights shining brightly despite Mother Nature trying to steal the show.
Man, that was beautiful. Those head on shots are really instructive. We all know how impressive the length is but the width of these monsters is very impressive too.
Everything about this video is just great! Between the intro of the bow of the miner and the sterns of the Miner and Barker moving along with the rain at the canal. It all come together great. Awesome work!

Beautiful ship!
What a trooper, filimg a bonafide "footer" in the rain. That will take a while.
Wow, watching that turn into the canal is a thing of beauty.

Thanks Greg! They look especially wide when they are loaded down.

Thank you for braving the foul weather to bring us another fine video. Cheers!
Thanks! A few minutes of misery is a small price to pay to capture the video. 😉
Remember cutting all the windows. What a job
Excellent video! Dramatic footage of this great ship...
Thank you! 😊
Such a sweet catch. Thanks for this one!! Awesome in-the-rain footage to share!❤
Thank you!
Atmospheric! Great video, The Miner's horn sounds like it may need a dose of sinus spray! (might just be the weather) Cheers.
I could use a dose myself! 🤧
@@1Long2Short 😃
Great video ❤
Thanks! 😊
Bien suerte lo esperamos😊❤
The rain sounds relaxing (for viewers)! Glad you didn’t get electrocuted!
I’m glad too. ⚡️ 😳
A lot of rain in the upper Great Lakes region lately. I’m wondering if western Lake Superior is stained brown like a few years ago?
Yeah, rain tends to turn the water brown here.
It still amazes me as to how these captains can simply Man Handle these huge ships around, IE the pivot.
NICE!
Great job, to a Mariner it's a small inconvenience
