Yep 💯% agree. Most kids these days are mainly interested in doing all the fancy stuff rather than learning the fundamentals. This is why you rarely see quality players today who can go the distance, like players from the past, went the going gets tough. Not many today would have a clue how to remain composed to grind out a win,or even compete for that matter, when things ain't going well. Yes it's great to do all the fancy stuff when your on top.But what do you do when things aren't going so well and there aren't any opportunities for the razzle-dazzle? This is where many kids don't know what to do and give up so easily. This is where you rely on your fundamentals to get you through. You still may not win but you can be assured you'll still be able to compete at a high level because you'll know what to do despite things not going your way. It's a no brainer.Learn it.You'll go a long way to being a winner reguardless of the score!
Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals...fundamentally sound...These are the things that so many young players are lacking...they have gaping holes in their game and never do anything to fix them and 10 years later the hole is still there ( i.e. Russell Westbrook, Ben Simmons) Being big strong and athletic can only take you so far. You have to work to master your craft...continuously!!!

Fundamentals first - always. Most important - MJ worked his butt off like Roy just said. No super team required.
