    I made this scarf in variegated light to medium grays for a male friend of mine for Xmas using a dark charcoal gray color for the border. He thoroughly loved it as the colors matched his white/silver gray hair. Thank you for the great tutorial. You are an awesome instructor.

    This is a great video; thank you, so I guess this scarf 🧣 you chain a chain as long as you need probably 4 feet? Or so; so your working long rows the length of the scarf, creating width. Right?

    I would like to know how many foundation chains I need to make a scarf like your original one. I know you said 12 just to show us but What's the amount to make it like yours. Thank you x

    • @kimquinn7728
      @kimquinn7728 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Xzandra H to know how many chains the foundation is, you must simply decide if you like a long scarf or a short one that just crosses over your chest.
      Take a seamstresses tape measure and drape it around you neck. if you want it, say, 4 ft., 12x4 is 48". crochet your beginning chain 48" long plus 2. I always try to Crochet an even number. Such as, 100+2. so you chain 100, plus 2 and do 1st single crochet in 2nd chain from hook. this way, when you finish a row it is easy to count and be sure you didn't miss a stitch.

    • @shereneliscom6736
      @shereneliscom6736 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Xzandra H i made mine with 21 and it came out great. You can use an old scarf you have to get an idea on the width you want, thats what i did .

    Hi, how many chains did you do on your scarf? Thanks!

  • @mariakristinahawl1640
    @mariakristinahawl1640 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In order for the edging to work, you have to make your foundation chain an EVEN number, so when you work your single crochet stitches across, you end up an with ODD number of stitches. 😉

  • @ministerdr.cherylbenefield9768

    oh one question going around the corners of the scarf how many single crochets should i do? or should I continue the pattern "single chrochet, chain 2 & single"?

    • @Jamais08
      @Jamais08 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you must do more in the corners so it keeps the scarf flat... maybe do 3 sc, chain 2 and 3 sc in the corners in the same stitch :)

    Loved your tutorial! Good directions, neat vvork, going to try it next! Also, can you put that border on both sides? and hovv do you figure out hovv much yarn is needed for a complete scarf? I realize it depends on the length, (Once around the neck and some hanging on both sides) but even so....I vvent to the link and am vvondering if the Cascade 220 means 220 grams? Thx! Keressa

    Hi Jennifer! I want to make this scarf in the Cascade 220 yarn that you used. When I go on line to order it, I see that it comes in hanks. I've never used hanks before. Can you please give me an idea of how many hanks I would need to make this scarf? Here is the website: www.yarn.com/product/webs-knitting-yarns-cascade-220/. Many thanks!

    • @lorehay7856
      @lorehay7856 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Patty la cadeneta que vas ha hacer al principio la haces del largo que tu quieras, esta bien facil de hacer puesto que vas hacer solo dos puntos, cuando hagas la primera cadena ponla alrededor de tu cuello, asi sabras que tan larga o corta la vas a tejer.
      Espero que esto te halla ayudado!
