If not for his love for music SD Burman could have been one of the biggest knights of Tripura. father of SD Burman big heartedly made the will that after his demice his brother not son will ascend to the throne, but his brother didnot show the goodwill gesture and reprihend his brother son's from being a successor of the throne after his demise. Burmans fought the legal case in british court but couldn't win. At the end they were relegated to second tier royals. Still Burman brothers were given high designations in royal court and administration of Tripura. SD Burman was offered position of education minister but he denied. The last nail in the coffin was when Burman went to Tripura 1st time after getting married with his wife they were not received by queen and royal princesses which he didnot took well and take it as his insult. After that he never went Tripura. Which shows he was man of high morals.. And his passion for music made him who he is today.. N that will remain in the anals of musical history of India.
