    What’s the high iso you’re comfortable shooting at night?

    • @AiramDatoon
      @AiramDatoon ปีที่แล้ว

      6400

    • @thesestillmoments
      @thesestillmoments ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Tbh, iso noise doesn’t bother me. I’d rather capture the image than not. Especially at night! I feel some noise adds an element to certain photos and can help add story. BUT we’re not bumping it up to insane amounts of course where it ruins the image!

    Great video, but you can always do any film simulation in your editing process!
    The main reason I don’t do night photography is I don’t feel safe in my city anymore! 🖖

    • @Reggiebphoto
      @Reggiebphoto  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes and no. The film simulations and tweaks have specific hue, tonal, and grain adjustments that cannot be recreated outside the camera. All post-processing softwares are not officially licensed by fujifilm, it's just their best guess at recreating the simulation (this is official word form Fujifilm). With that said, you can very close in raw processing, or even better. But for me I'm enjoying the jpeg workflow.

    Hi Reggie do you use a uhd filter on your x100v. Not sure if uv a good thing to have if I’m seeking better quality pictures aloha

      No. Just a CineBloom filter

  • @thesestillmoments
    @thesestillmoments ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Being new to Fujifilm, I really thought I’d use the film simulations more. No matter how much a tweak with them I never get the look I want or envision!! But that’s ok. Switching to Fujifilm still has been a great experience for me and loving it!

    • @Reggiebphoto
      @Reggiebphoto  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That was me from 2012 to 2021. Then I took some time to really dial it in and I’m now happy with the time saved processing. The beauty is everyone has their one approach

      A good thing to try is to figure out what your editing style is in Capture One/Lightroom, and then try and replicate that within fuji's custom profiles

    When you shoot in RAW, you can always use the camera profiles in Lightroom, hence getting the simulations in post production with the raw file

      why would this be a goal? you have an opportunity to shoot at night 365 days of the year. theres nothing to embrace don't make it a goal. just go outside and if you want to make a "goal", make that getting *better* at night photography.

    Nice work! Always evolving…
    About gear you mentioned the 33 1.4, but showed the 23! Which one is it?
    Do you feel that the 1.4’s have a big difference to the x100v 2.0?
    I’m struggling between the 23 and 33 1.4 . I say this because I know that eventually I’ll get an x100.
    Recently I upgraded to the x-t5 from the x-t2… and I’m amazed with the ability of handling higher ISO’s.
    I’m following your channel since the beginning, and you’re handling it very very well as a content creator/educator and as a father of two and wedding photographer! But you’re being too organized/“scheduled” you know? Give your self space for the art where you have your heart and soul, even at the expense of less views once in a while.
    Let it go… use the force reggie!

    • @Reggiebphoto
      @Reggiebphoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it was the 33mm f/1.4. Look at the lens mount, and you'll see it says 33. I use the 23mm 1.4 mk ii hood on the 33mm as it also fits. I prefer the metal hoods.
      Also, as far as organized and scheduled. This is how my mind works. But if you've been following me for a while, I'm sure you know that. I also don't photograph weddings anymore.
