Reshma Singh on India's Energy Future and the Built Environment

Reshma Singh, in conversation with Vijaya Bhargav, said that architects and sustainability experts can help corporates be attuned to the idea that capitalism can save the planet, and that we need to switch from stakeholder capitalism to shareholder capitalism. She mentioned ‘theory of change’, which she has put forward in her book ‘Transforming India's Built Environment: A 2050 Vision for Wellness and Resilience’. She said that the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) goals of a company must be in sync with its corporate culture and the personal behaviours of its team members. On a parting note, she added that we must put our heads, hearts and hands together to embrace a net-zero built environment across India. that promotes equitable wellness and resilience for all.
