  • Installing a sena smh-10 Bluetooth unit on a Protos hard hat. Easy straight forward install. Hard hat communication is a game changer on the job for safety and general communication.

    Great idea to drill mic boom into earmuff, to get it closer to the mouth. I was hesitant to do that and compromise sound protection; but then I decided to add silicone to fill all the gaps around the wires to resolve that concern.

    Really curious as to how this has worked for you. Do you ever wish you could still talk in the microphone but open and fold the ear cup back too?

      Honestly no regret’s with this set up. My old Protos was done the same way so I’ve had it like this for about 2.5 years.

    You drilled your hard hat? That’s an automatic red tag defective.

    The radio should break before the helmet

    To anyone watching this PLEASE DONT DRILL HOLES IN YOUR NEW HELMET!!!

    • @timberandtools
      @timberandtools  ปีที่แล้ว

      I must ask, Why not? I haven’t any issues also how else would you mount this!?

      @@timberandtools drilling holes in your helmet voids it's warranty and is considered to compromise it's integrity. The bracket you mounted is only half of it. The other half screws to it and the helmet is sandwiched in-between the two plates.

      @@dabrokest530 I wasn’t really concerned with the warranty. It’s more important to have the blue tooth communication with our crew

      @@dabrokest530who tf needs a warranty on a Protos, it’s there in case you get hit, not so you can get hit. You aren’t just gonna randomly break a protos

      @dabrokest530 im with you, I just used the other half of the bracket and clamp it on my helmet. Had it like that for over 5 years and never had a problem.
