Kind of incredible to believe the jokes about having a track named "Undertale Yellow" in the Undertale Yellow OST not only came to life, but it's such an emotional song too!
@KioTheCoolDude and the song has to be the most emotional song in the soundtrack and include most of the main leitmotifs in the game. Thems the rules.
I waited 7 years to cry over Clover's death. This ending was already expected anyway, I was much more depressed by the fact that Martlet and Starlo thought of other alternatives for Clover to stay with them.
It’s funny, we all knew what was going to happen to Clover. Doesn’t make it any less gut wrenching. It just makes it beautiful. Clover gave one final act of justice to the monsters.
I think its more of how it happens, we only knew they died, but we never knew it was going to be a last selfless sacrifice to give all of his friends hope of getting out of the underground
@@krabbecorkorn Your reply makes me think of Red Dead Redemption 2. Funnily enough, it's also cowboy-themed. Heck, I think one of Starlo's attacks was a reference to RDR as well. Though I might be wrong about this.
This song hurts even more because I know that I wouldn't have the strength to tell Ceroba to leave. Clover was brave to face death all alone, and as a kid no less. Clover was a child, and had the utter selflessness to give up their life for people they had only met mere hours ago. I can't wait to see what the devs do next. Amazing game.
@@husans8841 Most characters refer to Clover as a child. Dalv, Toriel, Martlet, etc. Sure, that might mean they just LOOK like a child, but even in Undertale I'm pretty sure all the human souls are referred to as children's souls.
Yeah its so heartbreaking specially considering clover did have a family, maybe even a big one, clover was just a Little kid that wanted to play as a hero and endes up being one, considering that clover left his family to serve a major purpose, maybe even knowing they wouldnt come back alive is what breaks me the most
It’s like Bring it in Guys but marred with melancholy. You saved lives but you couldn’t save yourself. At least in the end, all of your friends will go free..
Maybe because Clover is like...THE BEST UNDERTALE HUMAN EVER MADE? They are a silent protagonist, but they still have a character.... Frisk...TAKE NOTES from the GOAT
>Hops into the Underground seeking 5 kids >Makes tons of friends along the way >Fight a grieving mother that has a mask supernatural proprieties >Sacrifices themselves for a greater good without further explanation What an actuall chad I will actually miss clover
>Fights a botanically and anatomically challenged gargantuan beast to help a 9 year old >Gets absorbed by a flower >Gets revived with no explanation given to them
A game worth crying over. Felt as powerful as the original Undertale at times, and this one I actually went in almost entirely blind aside from vague memories of the demo - unlike Undertale itself, which I did get spoiled the entire goddamn plot for. Sure, Clover was gonna die. It’s a prequel of sorts. It’s clearly supposed to be able to coexist with the events of canon Undertale without affecting it. Didn’t mean it didn’t hit like a truck when it happened, man! Man. Good game. Time to go back to dying to that demon bird 2 billion times now, i suppose.
I wish I didn't have the final bosses spoiled for me when I was just casually browsing youtube. Some people just willing to put the most spoiler visuals for thumbnails.
@@wideclide42069fr, when I was doing neutral i got spoiled with the flowey boss on my recommendations, and when I did pacifist I got spoiled with a huge ass UNDERTALE YELLOW PACIFIST FINAL BOSS CEROBA on a thumbnail, again. life is awesome
The guitar solo in the beginning, the one right after Clover frowns their head down after dying, sitting by the cherry blossom tree on a bed of petals, is soul-shattering. 😞
and so the cowboy rides off into the sunset, a tearful but grateful town waving goodbye as they go sound familiar? in the end, even if it may not have been exactly how they planned, clover was able to live out all the wild west movies and fantasies they surely had growing up... and i think that's beautiful
IT'S HIM!!! IT'S THE GUY!!! FROM THE THING!! but seriously i love how the ending all comes together in one piece one piece? *THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!!!!*
This is why my headcanon (and something I laid down in my Credits Medley animation that I recently finished, feel free to check it out and all lol) is that Clover'd have a big grin on his face looking at the deputy badge in his final moments. No doubt the Wild East was his favorite section, I kinda wish he was more expressive just in the Wild East. because he couldn't contain his excitement to see an entire area dedicated to his persona.
The tribute for Etika is probably what got me the most. It's small, but it helps make it concrete that you all really cared. Desmond would've loved this game from top to bottom.
I didn't realize "For Desmond" was directed at him... that hurts a lot. I really hope he's able to watch all of the things he cared about and loved from somwhere.
@@CygnusDoesThings Etika was a youtube streamer, and a HUGE Undertale fan, he considered it one of the games that changed his life, his playtrough of the game is still up so I recommend you watch it, it's one of the best UT playtroughs on the platform. He sadly passed away in 2019, so UTY devs decided to pay him a little tribute.
Oh... that's who it was for. I mainly saw Etika through little clips and really liked his content, but I found out that he passed away before I watched him... (T~T)
listening to this track has me imagining the idea that the 6 Souls were allowed to go back to their bodies after Asriel broke the barrier, reviving them from death - despite how corny the idea sounds just imagine the sheer joy Starlo & Martlet must've felt if Clover ever found them again after the barrier was broken, augh
@@furythemadman I mean, checking the coffins says that they're empty after the Pacifist ending, so the implications are there altho them moving on is probably the more canonical option, so thas understandable
@@bloxxybox2576 it's just weird to think about the fact that the humans are technically dead, so they'd just basically be mummies by the events of undertale, even if it would be a little funny to think that the kids just came back to life and decided to go back home as if nothing ever happened
Anyone who says "it's just a movie, or a game, or a piece of fiction, so why should I feel emotions?" Doesn't know the feeling of getting so attached to a character that you have to cry. I cried tears of sadness and joy at the end. Clover, while not given any sort of character development, chose to willingly give their own life for the monsters they'd only known for a day, which gave them a character greater than any I could dream of making. This was a choice they made out of love for their friends. They could've chosen the options presented by Starlo or Martlet, yet, they chose to give themself for the friends they made. For Star, for Martlet, for Ceroba, even for Dalv, the character who got barely any screentime. This one choice shows how much Clover grew as a character. The game doesn't ask you what you want to do, Clover makes that choice on their own. It's absolutely beautiful, sad, and amazing. It was great that you knew Clover would have to die, but that didn't soften the blow.
Actually clover does maybe get some character development sorta They become a slight bit more expressive after sparing star, doing a funny yeehaw pose with him and that seems to continue throughout the rest of the game Clover must have enjoyed wild east
Everything. The Music. The Graphics. The Taste. The Smell. The Texture. Everything. It's all top brass. Thank you, all of you who brought us this experience.
Funny thing is, i wanted to record my reaction to the ending so i started recording by the end. I was like "yeah id be cool to preserve my reaction to it i waited so long to finally play it" (still remember playing the demo in December 2016 haha...) Anyways, i was left with 22 minutes of footage of me sobbing then breaking down 2/3 of the way ... I will never forget this game, thank you UTY Team for making me relive my childhood again 💛 EDIT: I have actually made an animation based on this song, it's called "Legacy of Justice". I worked a ton on it, so feel free to check it out on my channel!!! ^^
Other people have already said as much in this comment section, but.... Undertale Yellow -> Undertale is like Red Dead Redemption 2 -> Red Dead Redemption More than surface-level resemblance (Wild West gunslinger themes), both UTY & RDR2 are prequels: players of UT / RDR go in knowing how the story has to end, just not the details. Like the High Honor ending in RDR2, the Pacifist ending in UTY has the protagonist make the conscious choice to sacrifice their own life so that others will get a shot at a better life in the future, once they fully embrace the fact that there's no way they themself will get out of their own situation alive. Honorable Arthur Morgan dies on a mountainside cliff, alone but finally unafraid of death. He faces the rising sun knowing that John Marston got the chance to rejoin his family safely & build a new life outside the gang. Pacifist Clover dies atop a New Home tower, alone but finally unworried about the future. They overlook the fallen sakura petals knowing that all their newfound monster friends got the chance to regain hope for building a new life on the surface.

If other fangames are made that connect with yellow I can imagine a remade undertale featuring the full expanded underground and returning cast would be made. Big IF- UTY is an enigma. For now they’re probably doing whatever offscreen so the base game suffices
They’re still alive that’s for sure, if yellow was canon Tho don’t u think it’s be a long time cuz they say it’s been a while people didn’t fall in OG UT, which would make yellow uncanon cuz undyne and alphys are adult
@@Cicine59 Monster aging is weird tbf, Dogi have been around (and a couple) since Asgore and Toriel were together judging by the ‘98 Nose Nuzzle championship, and Gerson has been around since the war (though he IS a turtle, and they tend to be long lived)
@@Cicine59 The canon timeline is confusing anyway, since Alphys created Flowey with determination from at least two human souls, it means that she's been the royal scientist for a while
A game has never made me cry, but damn, Undertale Yellow did. Every time I play Undertale, I will always see the Yellow soul as Clover. May they deserve their rest. They made a very brave sacrifice.
1:33 absolutely _killed_ me with that scene - I played Undertale all the way back in it's demo days and the tree in front of Toriel's house that had the textbox *"[Any time this old tree grows any leaves, they fall right off.]"* was always one of my favourite details. Seeing that in the credits along with her pausing after the leaf falls (I assume symbolizing Clover?) just made me burst into tears. 🥲
I’m glad im not the only one who noticed the connection of the leaf falling off and clovers death, the way toriel pauses after the leaf falls it’s such a subtle detail that makes the ending hit 2x harder
7 years... 7 years and i finally got to play this masterpiece, this is everything i wanted. Brought me to tears in the pacifist ending. Now i gotta wait for undertale green for another 4 years (If that game is even in development still)
that title drop after it pans to the hole in the ceiling will never fail to not make me cry because of this song, it gives an oddly nostalgic feeling, and fits clover so well that as soon as you associate it with them passing on, it hits you, and in comes the sadness but it eased my depression to see it skip all the way to where frisk calls to the souls for help against flowey and clover comes back to assist them
SPOILERS . . . . . o7 for Clover - even in an inescapable situation, they did what was right. Ceroba couldn't break them, the threat of Asgore couldn't break them, not even Flowey could break them. nothing could destroy that sense of justice. nothing could stop that self-sacrifice. they knew what was right and they stuck with it, and that makes them just as determined as Frisk, in my eyes.
tbh merg didnt react much to the story or the effort/quality of this game, but his commentary to the everything else throughout the playthrough were fun to watch
What a god damn of an adventure this was, I had such an amazing time getting along with the characters, martlet and how much of a goober she is, ceroba and her mass of respect and seriousness, everything was great, especially for that ending, god that ending got me crying and depressed, this game was a huge blast, what an accomplishment this was beating it, hope master will make more games like this, but seriously, thank you so much for making this game, this changed me so much from inside and outside, tysm master
This track has stuck with me for the past few days. While completely expected from the very start of the game, clover's resolve to sacrificing themself is still absolutely heartbreaking. Despite this, the end of their story is still a hopeful one, and the result of a choice that truly feels as if it was made by them- not the player. So long, surface cowboy.
From the beginning, you already know that that's gonna be how the story ends, in one way or the other. But then? The closer you get to the ending the more you start to realize: all the things you've done, all the friends you've made, you have to say goodbye to them, but at least knowing that what have done is the right thing. ...I'm not getting emotional over pixels, you're getting emotional over pixels!
This song is just the most gut wrenching piece I’ve heard in recent memory within a game. The powerful start with the justice motif just makes for a masterclass in musical storytelling. This game blew my already high expectations out of the water and I can safely say this was my game of the year.
1:33 toriel may have only known clover a short time (in this timeline...), but she still misses them and has a good feeling about what happened Poor woman....
The sad thing is, there’s a good chance she never even learns that Clover went on to touch so many hearts and made a noble sacrifice. She probably just assumed that Asgore, or one of the Royal Guards killed them like all the rest. (well aside from Integrity soul but she wouldn’t know about Axis obviously)
1:47 goes unreasonably hard. Dalv got the happy ending he deserved, and while he lost Clover, at least he learned how to socialize and unlocked his inner talent of being an organ player.
The beginning part of this song always gets me so sad, Clovers death was just so perfect, I will always see the true pacifist route as the canonical ending for this game.
This ending pushed tears from like press, first Cerobas tragedy, then Clovers death, then seeing how everyone is doing. At the epilogue I was like "Please stop, I'm already dead". Man, I really don't remember when was the last time I cried like that over game ending.
well, this is what it all built up to, even if they never truly finished the adventure, i dont think any other ending could be quite as suitable. o7 10/10
Spoilers obviously: I’m honestly speechless with how phenomenal this ending was, it was obvious that Clover was gonna die from the moment this fan game was announced, but i wasn’t expecting the turn it would take. Clover sacrificing themselves for the sake of their new friends to have a bright future. And I absolutely love how this story showed an aspect of humanity to the monsters, how they mourned that Clover would have to give their soul to Asgore, everyone hugging it out one last time, Clover resting underneath the tree as we see the castle and barrier in the distance and Flowey saying his last goodbye. Now when I see the yellow soul in Asgore’s fight I no longer see just a yellow heart, I think of Clover, Dalv, Martlet, Starlo and Ceroba, I think of all the lives they changed, all the people they helped and met along the way, I think of a journey that wouldn’t make Frisk’s possible. To the whole Undertale Yellow team, thank you 💛
I waited years for this game, I knew how it was going to end and I loved every bit of it. I'll never forget hearing Forlorn and Fever Pitch for the first time and going: "THIS IS A FANGAME!?!". Words cannot express what i felt playing this game but just know i enjoyed every minute of it. See ya soon, Partner.
I am not gonna talk about the ending itself, becouse everything was already said in a coments here, but I'm gonna say, that I really love the moment, when Flowey stares at you for a second, after choosing not to reset in post-ending monolog
Alright, I beat the game, and it proceeded to utterly brainrot me for an entire weekend. I had to get the creative energy out somewhere, so I thought of an idea for another Undertale soul prequel story. It's.. pretty indulgent, but here's the pitch: It's a game where you play as the Green Kindness soul. The thing is, when you fell down the hole, you sustained a horrible injury. Toriel wasn't there, but Gaster -- before he fell into the CORE -- was there and saved you. Just a regular Gaster who happens to be the royal scientist, no space-time shenanigans. Throughout the game, you'd go throughout the Underground being escorted by Gaster doing his duties. Your SOUL is going to be given to Asgore eventually -- he doesn't want any monster to kill you and destroy it, so he tries to protect you. Monsters do anyway, and throughout the game you do acts of kindness throughout the Underground. Stuff like showing Undyne the fact that humans aren't all bad and showing her how to cook. (Green soul = apron/frying pan.) But here's the second thing is: Gaster knows his fate. He knows he's fated to die by falling into the CORE and being forgotten about by everyone. And, because of the fact that Gaster saved you in the Ruins -- when he falls into the CORE and is erased, every act of kindness you did would have been altered as well because he saved you in the first place. Just like how the CORE is still there in Undertale but Gaster is gone, your acts of Kindness would still be there -- but no one would remember you did them. Undyne still learned how to cook, but she did it some other way. The whole theme of the game would be about doing acts of Kindness even to people don't deserve it, even if it's only temporary, even if you'll get no credit in the end. Because that's true kindness. The ultimate feat would be getting Gaster to overcome a stupor and depression due to him knowing about his eventual death. You would convince him to finish the CORE project in spite of the fact he won't be remembered, to help everyone in a final act of Kindness. At the end of the game, Gaster would fall in the CORE. You would get transported back to the fall, except this time Toriel finds you hours after you fell and mortally wounded. You play through the Ruins again, seeing the positive consequences of everything you did there -- except everyone got to where they where in a different way. Only you really know what you did for them. Toriel's magic cannot save you, and you die in bed in Toriel's home. As you die, the grey-scale Gaster followers appear by you and say thanks. The credits roll as monsters come take your SOUL to Asgore, where you get to see everything you did (or, in the end, didn't do). What do y'all think?
@@Unknown_Nexus535 I think that the different routes if there are any would be that, how many kind things you do. If you are kind to monsters and fix their problems of the course of the story, then Gaster will see that and it would change him. He would start to understand that helping people despite the fact that you would get no recognition or reward is good thing, and would open up to it himself. This would allow him to get over his stupor due to the foreknowledge of his death and finish the CORE. If you don't help the citizens of the Underground? Gaster doesn't see the error of his ways. He would go to the CORE purposefully to destroy it once and for all, so that it can never kill him like his reports suggest it will. In the process, the Kindness soul would realize that by doing that Gaster would be dooming the entire Underground into boiling-their-own-water-with-fire-magic tier dark age, and would realize that pushing Gaster into the CORE would be an act of kindness -- not to him, but to everyone in the Underground.
It may sound cheesy, it may sound weird, or it may sound dumb But I can feel how Undertale changed my life, twice. Back when I was around 8 or 9, I got Undertale for the Nintendo Switch, and it changed a lot how I saw games, I became basically addicted to any Undertale content that I saw.. I just loved everything about it, the graphics, the gameplay, the music, the story, and most important, the characters.. as a kid it changed a lot how I saw things, influenced a lot of my aspects, what I liked, how I acted.. .. And the years passed, and I stopped to think about Undertale more and more, almost as if I forgot about it. Deep inside I know it was there, but slowly vanishing.. Until I saw that Undertale Yellow came out, and I thought it would be nice to see or play something about Undertale again.. man, as if I knew Undertale was gonna change me AGAIN. Once again, I loved everything about this game, I bought Undertale on Steam, replayed it, and replayed Deltarune too, and I'm never gonna regret of doing all of this again. I know I sound like a broken record, but, once again, Undertale changed me when I less expected it.. I didn't know I needed this game back in my life, all those smiles, all those tears, all those moments and memories that I formed.. I'd never exchange them for ANYTHING in the world. And I cry, I cry everytime I remember how precious this game is for me, I cry everytime I see Clover's body leaning against that wall, I cry everytime I see Frisk and his friends reunited, I cry everytime I see and hear the credits of these games.. but all those tears are worth it. It may pass as just another comment, another person who really likes Undertale, another love letter to this game.. .. but deep inside is more than that, is a change, a videogame to play, a song to listen, a story to read, a video to watch, and a tale to tell..
Its kinda depressing how Clover jumped in the mountian to search for the humans but then they kinda just found out they're all dead and knows they have to die to for the sake of juistice. However genocide run is a way of us interacting and changing the course of the events which is kinda cool devs cared about players. The game is free too. Shows the LOVE the devs have for us. Hope everyone appricates their efforts even if they could possibly not like a thing or two
Undertale Yellow was a ride to say the least especially the true pacifist i knew clover was gonna die some way but... Man did it have a big impact on me at the end. Clover knew the 5 kids that fell down were already gone and that even if he was able to talk to get passed asgore and the barrier that those monsters would just stay down in the underground like nothing change so instead of them claiming another human soul he decided to give himself up for the friends he made along the way and all of monster kind. Clover was determined to carry out his mission even though his mission changed to savings the 5 kids to figuring out they all passed away he decided to give himself up for the justice of not only showing that humans can be kind so kind enough to give themselves up for the monsters but for the justice that monsters will see the surface one day and will have free and happy lives. Now if that isn't Justice then it damn well is determination to serve that justice. I haven't cried at a game like this since Undertale or Omori but those games i spoiled myself on but with Yellow i played through the whole pacifist ending without spoiling myself and man did i enjoy it. It really shows how big the underground really is and shows how different the other kids journeys was. Thank you for Undertale Yellow and thank you Clover.
Welp, this game certainly managed to achieve the same “oh frick why am i crying” that undertale did for me, and still hits hard even on a third playthrough just like undertale
Finished playing the game and I reset my run just to end on the true ending because it deserves it. This track really brings a tear to my eye, something about clover is so likely and although this is just a fangame, this will always be canon in my heart and an excellently told story about what could have happened. Rest in Peace Clover, When Somebody calls for help, you answer the call.
If I had a nickel for every time an EarthBound-inspired RPG protagonist commited "self-die" during an ending that is made by making a choice during the final boss, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice.
This is what any fan project should be. Crafted with heart and SOUL. this was all worth the wait. I was holding back tears throughout the whole thing. I hope toby got a chance to play this and considers this a cannon prequel. If anyone out there makes a fangame like this gem about the other 5 souls, I give you good luck.
Very unlikely that Toby would consider this canon, since Flowey explained in a neutral(?) dialogue that he was created AFTER the 6 humans fell, which includes Clover.
0:57 This is the tale of a human child With a special job to do Find every soul, and set them all free Keep pushing through Even when things seem impossible Do what's just and what feels right You wield the gun, how will you proceed Can you justify the need to fight?
Whenever I fight Photoshop Flowey, I'll always have a moment of silence upon reaching the yellow SOUL. Remembering the incredible journey, the friends Clover made along the way. Every time I hear those guitar strums at the beginning, tears form in my eyes. I never thought another fangame would have me this invested. But now... Thanks for the memories. This was worth every second I spent waiting, and every second I spent playing. Thank you.
it's such a beautiful instance of dramatic irony all the way through. we know what's going to happen and yet it happens and it still hits us so hard. See you, space cowboy.
Its sad to think that after this, Frisk could either go on a murderous rampage and do a genocide, all of clover's befriending go unoticed and the world get erased..
There's never been a game that's gotten me more emotional than Undertale or Deltarune. This song, this very moment, has captured that same feeling I felt years ago. Well done, UTY team.
In order to ensure that I am not in eternal sadness over this game's ending, here is a compilation of evidence and logic supporting the idea that the fallen humans prior to Frisk (minus Chara) were all resurrected following the fight against Asriel. To begin, we need to establish the context behind the Asriel fight in the first place, Flowey (after having collected the 6 humans souls) used some kind of soul vacuum light to pull the monsters souls from their bodies in order to compensate for the lack of a 7th. This is reinforced due to Napstablook's testamony of events. That being said, if we are to go by the logic that an individual dies without a soul unless it never had a soul to begin with, then in that moment, every single monster was killed in an instant and their souls infused into Flowey in order to become the God of Hyperdeath. Then following the fight Asriel gives everyone's souls back after destroying the Barrier; however, if he were to do that, he would have to resurrect every single monster in the underground due to the fact that they would have all died and turned into dust. That being said, after the Asriel fight, the coffins that previously held the bodies of the humans who died, become empty with only mummy wrapping remianing inside. So now the question becomes, how did these humans disappear? Unlike monsters, human bodies don't dissolve into dust immediately after death, which explains the coffins in the first place, and mummy wrapping are often used to preserve bodies after death, so decomposation likely wouldn't have happened as fast, but even then, assuming that Asriel, who had finally felt overwhelming compassion after being deprived of it for so long and decided to give everyone their souls back after regaining it, had to resurrect all of the monster bodies after their dusting, could reverse the effects of decomposing as well. And we know for a fact that fight against Asriel was real due to what Napstablook said and wasn't a dream like the rest imply. An argument made against this idea is what Toriel is said to have done with Chara in the Genocide ending, where she, in her grief, took the body and buried in the ruins. This logic could also be implied with the other humans, the problem then is, who did it? Other monsters probably didn't care about the entire group of humans enough to do it, and Toriel was busy watching over Frisk as they were unconscious. I know some people might consider this to be serious narrative copium, but I need a happy ending to Clover's story and if I have to stretch and compose a whole theory to get it, then I'll do what I must.
This game came out on the same day that my best friend passed away, for a long time I didn’t play the game because it reminded me of that day but when I did finally get around to playing I enjoyed it fully and when I got to this song I may have cried just thinking about him, my only regret now is that I wasn’t able to show him this incredible game before he passed.
Alright, the difference between this song and “Undertale” is that, this song is named after the game, implying that it’s the end of Clover’s Journey. “Undertale” on the other hand, is not named after the game, it plays during the New Home segment where the monsters talk about an undertale, therefore, naming Undertale, the game is named after the song because, well the game name implies this game is an Undertale!
The ending... Agahhhhdgdb I havent cried over a game in so long but this did it to me. Seeing clover give up their life to set stage for frisk's actions in undertale is so heart wrenching. I was originally planning on doing genocide but after this i had lost my will to do so. The final shot with clover's belongings resting in the flowers, I couldnt disrupt it. It wasnt fair that clover was the sixth to fall, but they wouldnt let themselves be a mere victim of circumstance, instead, they gave their life for the people they loved. To bring justice to monsterkind.
You know...this theme is honestly speaks many words. Most undertale fangames are either: Unfair, Stupidly short, An AU on a overused skeleton, or just flat out canceled. It's honestly disappointing that most fangames/Series are like this. For example: Megatale tbh this is my own opinion I hate the series and Mega X Red ship it's trash. But Undertale Yellow is different from all this. It's a full on game...A FULL ON GAME and not a stupid AU. This game took 7 years to make. 7 YEARS! and it not an AU. The development team didn't abandon this game even though all the hell this game had to go through. And the thing is this is no doubt the best fangame in the history of fangames the plot is original, The characters are original, The area's are original, Hell the Game itself is free EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL! And the last line "For Desmond". Etika would've enjoyed this game top to bottom. It's sad that He died to soon. R.I.P Desmond Daniel Amoftha. 1990 - 2019 Thank you MasterSwordRemix and the team for an amazing Game that I will never forget.
See, I think what makes this ending hit so hard is that we knew from the very start that Clover wouldn't be able to survive. But it was done so beautifully, and made me shed a couple of tears. That's not easy to do
I was hoping so bad that there would be a choice to hide out with starlo or martlet but no i think we all knew deep down that clover would make the choice to give their soul.
The Pacifist ending...is no doubt absolutely perfect, it shows how selfless you are that your so willing to give you're soul away for the monsters, you didn't have to you didn't gain anything...but you did gain one thing...the feeling that you served true justice, you were filled with JUSTIFICATION 💛 🌅
For some reason This one hits harder than the true pacifist ending in undertale I don't know why But this one is just so much more emotional This is the third game to ever make me cry And now with my age I never cry anymore but this did it for me I'll never forget this game It struck hard But this scar I want to keep I still don't know exactly who made this game but Thank you Just like undertale This game will touch the hearts of millions And its touched mine already I've never played a game as emotional as this one before I hope to see more games like this in the future
Hey. Don't worry about Clover guys. They come back to life at the end of the True Pacifist run in Undertale. After the fight against Asriel, the coffins are open and empty.
Oh shit, I never thought about that... While I'm still not sure, it would make sense, with the souls still being intact and present in Undertale's True Pacifist ending, and Asriel mentioning returning everyone's souls beforehand... Maybe? I imagine it wouldn't really lessen the impact of the ending, since Clover wasn't aware that they'd come back if that is true... I like it.
Actually, I think that moment was moreso symbolism that the souls were FREED after Asriel broke the barrier. They were no longer imprisoned inside of those storage chamber things, and were finally free to move on.
I like to think that Clover was the only one who wasn't revived (which I personally don't believe in) or returned to where they were before after the Asriel fight, instead staying with Asriel/Flowey so they could both have an at least semi-happy ending, even if he does turn back into a flower. (Which is the reason why Flowey acts quite differently during the conversation with him after the credits, as he has Clover's SOUL inside of him or it's Clover talking)
Is their any music like the guitar solo at the beginning? I absolutely love the initial melody until it gets to the Dalv stuff. The guitar solo is beautiful.
@@nylana4552 I know right? Vocals can add a lot, but the guitar can create such a beautiful feeling if just left alone with some support from other instruments.
The part of "One Upon a Time" at the end is what really gets me, because since Clover is dead and their soul is stored, it's the end of their *tale* for the time being, at least until woken up by a certain call for help.

More than surface-level resemblance (Wild West gunslinger themes), both UTY & RDR2 are prequels: players of UT / RDR go in knowing how the story has to end, just not the details.

Despite this, the end of their story is still a hopeful one, and the result of a choice that truly feels as if it was made by them- not the player.
So long, surface cowboy.
From the beginning, you already know that that's gonna be how the story ends, in one way or the other. But then? I’m honestly speechless with how phenomenal this ending was, it was obvious that Clover was gonna die from the moment this fan game was announced, but i wasn’t expecting the turn it would take.

I am not gonna talk about the ending itself, becouse everything was already said in a coments here, but I'm gonna say, that I really love the moment, when Flowey stares at you for a second, after choosing not to reset in post-ending monolog
Alright, I beat the game, and it proceeded to utterly brainrot me for an entire weekend. I had to get the creative energy out somewhere, so I thought of an idea for another Undertale soul prequel story. It's.. pretty indulgent, but here's the pitch:
It's a game where you play as the Green Kindness soul.
(Green soul = apron/frying pan.)
But here's the second thing is: Gaster knows his fate.
I think it’s pretty nice. Wonder what changes if you do NOTHING kind at all
@@Unknown_Nexus535 I think that the different routes if there are any would be that, how many kind things you do.

This song literally brings me to tears everytime I hear it
It may sound cheesy, it may sound weird, or it may sound dumb
But I can feel how Undertale changed my life, twice.
Knowing that your soul will eventually help the monsters to attain their freedom... Fills you with justice.
I love the contrast of Frisk's emotional themes always having piano, where as Clover gets the guitar.
This, and the Undertale song, proves that acoustic guitars as a base are always going to be a win.
If I had a nickel for every time an EarthBound-inspired RPG protagonist commited "self-die" during an ending that is made by making a choice during the final boss, I would have 2 nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice.
Omori is the other one, right?

This is what any fan project should be. Crafted with heart and SOUL. this was all worth the wait. I was holding back tears throughout the whole thing. I hope toby got a chance to play this and considers this a cannon prequel.
If anyone out there makes a fangame like this gem about the other 5 souls, I give you good luck.
Very unlikely that Toby would consider this canon, since Flowey explained in a neutral(?) dialogue that he was created AFTER the 6 humans fell, which includes Clover.

This is the tale of a human child
With a special job to do
Find every soul, and set them all free
Keep pushing through
Even when things seem impossible
Do what's just and what feels right
You wield the gun, how will you proceed
Can you justify the need to fight?
I never thought a couple pixels could tell an entire story, thank you Undertale Yellow Team, this fangame is amazing, maybe even equal to Undertale.
Thank you.
I guess this undertale really is yellow

it's such a beautiful instance of dramatic irony all the way through. we know what's going to happen and yet it happens and it still hits us so hard.
See you, space cowboy.
Its sad to think that after this, Frisk could either go on a murderous rampage and do a genocide, all of clover's befriending go unoticed and the world get erased..
True. all Clover's work just completely ruined by Frisk's Stupidity.
@@DoodleZaneYeah, too bad this game isnt cannon.

UTY may be a fangame, but it's just as much a part of the UNDERTALE series as UT and *dr* are to me.
Same, my friend. The Uty cast is amazing, especially Clover. I don't know how they made his look so iconic.
This game is as good as Undertale. It ain't gonna get any better than that
maybe deltarune, but honestly i dont know if deltarune can live up to the quality undertale yellow had…
Felt so good timing 0:55 to the new year's countdown.
This hits differently after seeing the Legacy of Justice animation with this song in....
This is literally what happens if you put the OMORI critical hit line ("IT HIT RIGHT IN THE HEART") into music.
I kinda hear “my time”s intro sounds at around 3:25
@@gamerits OH MY FUCKING GOD IT'S THERE
The ending...

Nah screw it
You can't do this to me
Not clover
NOT CLOVER PLEASE 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
(I can't express how I felt in this scene, I really wanted to cry a lot)
To bad Its Cl-over from them
All in the name of justice. 💛
You may not have survived, but you did what needed to be done. A true hero.
The 4 people who disliked this video simply couldn't come to terms with the fact that they cried over the ending cutscene
Im surprised there even is dislikes
For some reason
This one hits harder than the true pacifist ending in undertale
I don't know why
But this one is just so much more emotional
This is the third game to ever make me cry
And now with my age
I never cry anymore but this did it for me
I'll never forget this game
It struck hard
But this scar
I want to keep
I still don't know exactly who made this game but
Thank you
Just like undertale
This game will touch the hearts of millions
And its touched mine already
I've never played a game as emotional as this one before
I hope to see more games like this in the future
Thank SwordMasterRemix and the Undertale Yellow team for this masterpiece!
@@blackcatforever97 Ah yea, that's probably it.
I love to think that Clover went back to see Starlo and the gang, and especially Martlet when revived. It's pure dopamine for me.
The guitar solo is beautiful.
same, too bad everyone that plays guitar like that is singing over it or dosent play a unique song
The main theme.
Wow.
