Not weebish at all my guy, there's a difference between admiring Japanese culture and even wanting to be a part of it, and worshiping it and acting like a cringy know-it-all gate-keeper. Good luck though! If your ship to be a student in a Japanese school has sailed, I highly recommend looking into the JET Programme; it's an English teaching opportunity to work in schools in Japan, probably the second best thing to being an exchange student.

That’s so interesting. When I was there for my high school exchange year, I wasn’t allowed to use my phone anytime during my school, that was such a pain in the ass.

It honestly looks fun but I can image the amount of stress Japanese schools put on their students than American schools!
I went on exchange there and school is stressful, but students are taught how to study and work effectively from early on so they don’t really notice it! They also expect hard work, so most have a set study time after school, but also have time to hang out with friends almost every day! Hope this helped :)
I will say I really did like taking the train in Japan because it was cleaner and also compared to Bart in SF I felt somewhat safe in their train LMAO I wasn’t always looking back every second 😂
i read somewhere that it is considered disrespectful to talk on trains in japan. its so amazing there like you can actually relax while going to school without people shouting to each other and spilling drinks everywhere

One time, I tripped in front of the school and my teacher said, you care so much about the school. Also, my おにぎり、唐揚げ、and 野菜 got dirty.

I have always watched anime as a child growing up with Japanese exchange students so I think it is fun to compare anime to reality. Just as the Japanese students did with any American high school drama.

The only thing I remember hearing growing up with regards to schools in Japan is that they have nets around many of them to keep the students from jumping off the roofs. That's probably just urban legend though. This was really a great video! Good Job.

i went to japan for two weeks and experience high school for one week, the other days were in kyoto and tokyo, but i have to say it was very fun to be at school there, we experiences gym classes, after school activities, as well as normal school things for one whole day, one day, the other 4 students who went, and i, as well as the chaperone and school principle (japanese school principle) went to a daycare and we got to play with them, me and the other tall guy on the trip functioned as mechas, and got on our shoulders and wrestled, to try and push each other away. gotta say the entire thing was fun, even if it was just normal school days.

Quite the contrary if done correctly. Explaining English in Japanese can really help get questions out of the way and help Japanese students understand English instead of just teaching in English and expecting them to memorize phrases they'll most likely never use. A lot of students tend to enjoy an English teacher fluent in both languages because they're easier to approach as well as easier to explain to

I've watched a handful of videos about high school in Japan. I just realized how stressful and tiresome academic curriculum here in my country. We start 7 am sharp and end at 5pm bombarded with Math, Science, English, History, PE, Home Economics etc while we only have 1 1/2 break(that includes recess and lunch). Although I'm kinda used to it, i still wonder why my country is not as developed as Japan when we have extensive academic curriculum.
