Voldemort's whole thing is hating muggles and halfbloods. That's why they're attacking. The brute looking guy at the beginning (the "scary bastard") is Fenrir Greyback. He's the werewolf that bit Lupin when he was a child in retaliation against his father saying all werewolves are soulless and deserving of death. Draco was forced into this because his father failed Voldemort the year before, broke the prophecy and was sent to Azkaban. Harry gave the twins his Triwizard Tournament winnings for their shop. Draco used the same spell to petrify Harry that Hermione did to Neville in the first movie. Your joking way of pronouncing Hermione is literally how I read it when I first started the books as a small child lol and none of the teachers I asked knew how to pronounce it either. The first bird, the white bird, died when Draco tried but there was a second bird in the cage, the black bird, so it can be assumed that he'd learned how to do it without killing the bird on his second try. Can't wait to see your reactions to the last two.
also one thing i wished the movie highlighted more is, since its *literally* called half-blood prince, the "relationship" Harry developed with this unknown person who wrote down notes in the potions book- like he was reading them all the time and picked up various spells from it, trying to find out who it was, talking about the Prince like a secret friend or smthing.. made it a really bitter moment when u find out it's Snape:O BUUUT to say something positive, i really love the music, colour grading and comedic moments in this film it sort of stands out to me:) thanks for the reactions they always make me laugh so much!!
This movie is the most frustrating, because the parts it cuts out break the whole thing, but the scenes they leave in (anything Slughorn or Draco) are _perfect._ The whole Felix Felicis sequence is to the dot exactly what it needed to be, hands-down my favorite part of the whole movie series; Radcliffe plays the drunk-gamer-logic perfectly and Broadbent captures what it looks like when a beloved national-treasure realizes countless horrors happened because of one conversation he was too chicken to follow up on or call out as suspicious and told himself not to worry about. "I know why you're here." and "Be brave, professor, or all of this was for nothing; if you can't tell me, you disgrace her." break my heart every time. 60% of this movie is ruined-in-the-edit bullshit though (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
When the book was released, I read it in two weeks that summer. There were two sequences that made me make audible sounds: the bathroom duel with Draco, and the Astronomy tower. When I finished the chapter where Dumbledore falls, I closed my book and left it for a day. Also, the earlier movies cut out details that were mentioned in the books because, at the time, they seemed to be throwaway lines that Rowling put in there. The 6th movie was released two years after the seventh book was out, and everyone realized that those details were missing. Like the slow relationship builds between Ginny and Harry and Ron and Hermione. There are some other ones that will be touched in movies 7 and 8 that I don't want to spoil for you. Another thing that makes fans mad to this day is that, for the first 5 movies, Lavender Brown was played by a POC girl. THEN, when she becomes important to the plot, she's suddenly recast by a white girl. Like....really?
As part of the Harry Potter generation who had to wait for the books and movies to come and never knew what was coming it makes me a bit sad that new generations will never experience that the way we did. I will never forget watching this one in a packed movie theatre at 12:01am. It was an unreal experience to watch with other fans, you could hear a pin drop 90% of the time and occasionally some cheers and often sobs from those who where brought to tears. It was truly a crazy cool way to watch these for the first time. I have so many memories of it and of dressing up with my friends, waiting in line for 12 hours, making potter themed snacks and staging wizard duels outside the theatre (we where theatre kids too) I wish the generations after us could experience that too.
the very fact that i watched this entire two and a half hour movie with you on patreon and i still ran to watch this video the very second it released says so much about brad and his editing powers
I'd have loved to see more from Draco in the movies. He's so lonely and yes, he's a piece of shit most of the time, but I feel so sorry for him. He has a horrible father, just like Billy in Stranger Things, and he grew up with that kind of people around, expecting so much from him to be "evil" like the bad guys. So yeah, it would have been better to have more development of his character. The scene in the bathroom makes me cry every time I see it because even if his is a coward you can feel him suffering, he doesn't want to be a twat, but he has too. In some way, I just love him, sorry not sorry. Draco just needs to be loved. I should read the books and see how he matures through them. Love from Spain❤❤❤❤
I agree, the juxtaposition of the normal kids romantic year vs Draco alone in corners is really sad once you notice it. Know who really picks this up and empathizes with Draco? Reactor 'Just Trust Ash', they have great HP reactions (Brad's are #1 top tier though lol)
@@mehlev wow, thanks for the suggestion, I'll see their reactions tomorrow. I didn't think about that juxtaposition, I just noticed it through all the movies, mostly after the fourth one. Your point makes it even sadder. And yeaaaah, Brad is top of the top for me too. He's just hilarious, and I love his British accent, I'd love to be his friend hahaha he seems so nice 🤗
Sorry, I can’t. He called for the death of his classmates, he almost killed his classmates while trying to kill a professor, and he laughed at the execution of an animal he provoked. I think a lot of people have horrible childhoods, but I think after you cross a certain line I stop feeling bad. After 11, Draco spent more time at hogwarts than home. If he any inclination you change at the time, he had the resources. Let’s not forget the story gives us a character who’s race similarly, and turned out differently. Sirius Black. To be honest, I thought, feeling bad he should still be in Azkaban.
@@esmenesme I hate recommending other reactors on a reactor's page but because that take on Draco is so rare I thought I'd mention it. 😉 @Really Dude!?! Petra DID say he's a huge POS, they are not excusing Draco or his past behavior. But in this instance/movie, I agree with feeling empathy for Draco: he so obviously does not want to kill Dumbledore and is only going through with it all (including the unintentional hurt to students) because he's been groomed, coerced and is under duress. I feel bad for him too.
@@eamcbmsc Keep in mind he's still a child that was indoctrinated into thinking his bloodline and that of other purebloods is superior, thanks to his parents (mostly his father). He might be a little shit, but he was raised to be that way, and stuff like that isn't easy to just break away from. Just look at any kids that are forced into a specific mindset by their parents. Draco deserves some blame for not taking notice of how his actions negatively were affecting his classmates for the majority of the story, but when it came time for him to get his own hands dirty, you can see the toll it takes on him. Draco is not fundamentally a terrible person. His father warped him into being the way he is, and because of that I put most of the blame onto Lucius.
Feels like the kind of thing someone would want to fact-check before allowing them into the secret society, but Voldie must not care enough. Or background checks don't exist in the wizarding world. 🤣
Just like Slughorn, Albus Dumbledore collects people. Only instead of focusing on those with influence, he looks to the outcasts. The expelled half-giant The young werewolf The repentant Death Eater He protects them and gives them a second chance. All he asks in return is their loyalty. And, if on occasion he requests that they undertake a certain task, invoking their debt of gratitude - well, that is no more than he is owed. He once thought to add a certain disowned Black to his collection, but quickly realised his mistake. Sinus is not an outcast, but a rebel. He knowingly chose his path, and chooses what price he is willing to pay for it. He refuses to be used. So Albus Dumbledore abandons him. Dumbledore knows Sirius' loyalty lies with Harry instead of him, and he has no use for someone who is not willing to follow his orders without question. Harry was an outcast due to a childhood filled with abuse and neglect. Vernon made him an outcast by dismissing his claims of magic, berating him, locking him in a CLOSET and putting bars on his window, and let's face it, even though her editor made her cut it out, Jo intended for there to be physical abuse. Petunia made him an outcast by enabling and contributing to this abuse, as well as making Harry do dozens of chores while doting on Dudley. Dudley made him an outcast by bullying him and threatening any students at school who wanted to be his friends. And the rest of the wizarding world made him an outcast when they bullied him for being an outsider. Harry James Potter became an outcast the moment he was placed with The Dursleys. And who put him there in the first place?
It's a sad truth that Dumbledore was never the heroic and caring father figure Harry wanted to see in him. That said, I can't blame Dumbledore for the choices he made. Certainly this collection of his started out with the best intentions. I fully believe that, at the core, Dumbledore was a good person with an infinitely caring heart. But he never let go of his ambitions "for the greater good". The meaning of the phrase simply shifted as he grew older and more detached from his old life. He lived long enough and grew powerful enough that he saw himself become a living legend. The Wizarding World had rested on his shoulders for such a long time, he probably couldn't imagine a world in which Voldemort was not his responsibility. Especially considering that he was the one who first introduced him into the Wizarding World. I think he fully believed himself the only person capable of orchestrating Voldemort's downfall and did everything in his power to make sure the prophecy would come true. No matter the cost. No matter the lives that he'd need to sacrifice for it.
heyyy so here are some explanations for stuff that isn't really clear in the movie: -during the lessons with Dumbledore, Harry goes through many more memories about Voldemort and we really get to learn his backstory. it's a bit long to write down here but if you want to look it up it's really interesting -also in the book we get to know a bit about Snape's backstory as well. he was born from a witch, Eileen Prince (from here he invents his nickname) and a violent and abusive muggle, Tobias Snape. therefore he's a halfblood, just like harry (who has a pure blood father and a mudblood mother, a witch whose parents are both muggles) and lord Voldemort himself (his mother was a witch from an ancient pureblood family who had a son with a muggle who she kept seduced with a love potion) I'm probably forgetting something, but still i hope it helps
3:01 Dumbledore is absolutely fabulous. I mean, Shacklebolt in the previous did say that you have to give it to him for his style. P.S. Also, sashays away with the Knitting Patterns 🔥
i think in the book it's always mentioned that Tom Riddle was charming and nobody suspected him to turn out the way he did. In the movies tho he is portrayed villainous from the beginning
"Avedaka - what?" Im deadd,I laughed so hard at you trying to think snape out of that situation knowing what was going to happen. Oh that was too fun and the editing was top notch.
36:37 voldemort himself is Half Blood. His mother was from a pure blood family, she became obsessed with a muggle boy and used a love potion to get with him
what i love about hermione using the confundus charm on mclaggen is that its like well known that using magic without a wand is quite difficult, but hermione does it so easily lmao
The thing with Draco getting assigned to assassinate Dumbledore is actually a punishment from Voldemort to the Malfoys for Lucius fuckin up the job of getting him the prophecy in the last movie. Voldemort isnt stupid he's fully aware Draco isn't able to do that so its mental torture for him, and for his mother cause she's so affraid for her son
Not you convincing yourself that Snape was gonna double cross the death eaters RIGHT in the moment that he was killing Dumbledore 😭💀 That’s such a sad scene and rip Dumbledore but that had me rollinggggg hahaha

If it had been the Tom Riddle from Chamber of Secrets, no one would have thought he was weird In the book, Dumbledore casts a freezing spell on Harry so he can't move or defend Dumbledore even though he desperately wants to Regarding if people know Snape is a half-blood... probably not? Someone else on the bad side (can't say who because big book spoiler) is also a half-blood and if that were known, you'd wonder why anyone gave credit to the person.
The way this movie in particular was directed is so memorable to me. Like idk how to explain it but simple things like slughorn giving harry the luck potion stay in my mind
you pointing out that they win liquid luck by brewing death is something that i never thought about but honestly it’s very on point with hogwarts curriculum
Rip Dumble 😭💜 I love watching these with you! Voldemort does know that Snape is a half blood, and if you remember, Voldemort also told Harry that he himself is a half blood in the second movie! He changed his name from Tom Riddle to Voldemort because he didn’t want to keep his “filthy muggle fathers name” or something like that. Half bloods are not really looked down on too much, it’s really just the muggleborns that Voldy and his followers hate.
actually voldemort is a halfblood aswell his father was Tom Riddle Senior a normal muggle he mentions this in Goblet of Fire and in the books his backround is explained further
Dumbledore was 115 when he died. Lucius is in Azkaban after what happened at the Ministry. That's why Draco is super pissed at Harry. 21:13 that is Fenrir Greyback the werewolf who bit Lupin and turned him when he was a little boy. Since when has Harry EVER shown that he was capable of subtlety.? In the book Dumbledore had frozen Harry underneath his invisibility cloak so Harry couldn't try to help him. Well Voldemort is a halfblood just like Harry abd Snape so.... Not that many of his followers know that little tidbit. BTW loved the Leslie clip.
36:29 It is mostly just muggle borns who are looked down on, but to people like the death eaters half bloods are also seen as lesser than. The thing is that almost no one is pure blood anymore except some really old and inbred families like the malfoys and the blacks. The funny thing is that Voldemort is half bloods himself. His dad- tom riddle sr was a muggle.
idk if anyone has said this but its revealed in the books, order of the phoenix and half blood prince i think, that voldemort was a half blood too, he had a witch mother and a muggle father, also rip dumble

I think we can all agree that we look forward to his reaction to a certain scene in the last movie. Hopefully none of that part is cut out!
Which one?
R.I.P. Dumble
Love every single one of your reactions. The next two will be a blast and a half, I'll wager. Plz don't make us wait too long 😅
also one thing i wished the movie highlighted more is, since its *literally* called half-blood prince, the "relationship" Harry developed with this unknown person who wrote down notes in the potions book- like he was reading them all the time and picked up various spells from it, trying to find out who it was, talking about the Prince like a secret friend or smthing.. made it a really bitter moment when u find out it's Snape:O
BUUUT to say something positive, i really love the music, colour grading and comedic moments in this film it sort of stands out to me:) thanks for the reactions they always make me laugh so much!!
This movie is the most frustrating, because the parts it cuts out break the whole thing, but the scenes they leave in (anything Slughorn or Draco) are _perfect._
The whole Felix Felicis sequence is to the dot exactly what it needed to be, hands-down my favorite part of the whole movie series; Radcliffe plays the drunk-gamer-logic perfectly and Broadbent captures what it looks like when a beloved national-treasure realizes countless horrors happened because of one conversation he was too chicken to follow up on or call out as suspicious and told himself not to worry about. "I know why you're here." and "Be brave, professor, or all of this was for nothing; if you can't tell me, you disgrace her." break my heart every time.
60% of this movie is ruined-in-the-edit bullshit though
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Hey Brad Evans, did you know that Harry's mother's last name is also Evans? I just noticed that. Lily Evans
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE.
the very fact that i watched this entire two and a half hour movie with you on patreon and i still ran to watch this video the very second it released says so much about brad and his editing powers
We all love you Brad! One of my favourite content creator
I think this movie has a lot of the funniest moments in the series. Snape just walking away after Harry asks a question is my favorite.
R.I.P. Dumble - and love your edit style - found your Heartstopper reaction and fell down a rabbit hole.
@Really Dude!?!
I think snape kept his muggle dad a secret so a lot of people think he’s pureblood :)
Feels like the kind of thing someone would want to fact-check before allowing them into the secret society, but Voldie must not care enough. Or background checks don't exist in the wizarding world. 🤣
I just want to say, as a newer content creator - the amount of TIME and COMEDIC GENIUS you put into this edit is SO impressive. Holy f--k
thank uuuu 🥰 i really appreciate that
Just like Slughorn, Albus Dumbledore collects people. Only instead of focusing on those with influence, he looks to the outcasts.
The expelled half-giant
The young werewolf
The repentant Death Eater
He protects them and gives them a second chance.
There was also a wretched squib and a giftless seer. In his collection, I mean.
Dumbledore pretty much ticks off a codependent checklist, doesn't he? I mean, abandoning Sirius because he can't have his loyalty?
I absolutely love this explanation. 👏🏼
And that's why I'm always on team Eff Dumbledore.
heyyy so here are some explanations for stuff that isn't really clear in the movie:
-during the lessons with Dumbledore, Harry goes through many more memories about Voldemort and we really get to learn his backstory. it's a bit long to write down here but if you want to look it up it's really interesting
-also in the book we get to know a bit about Snape's backstory as well. he was born from a witch, Eileen Prince (from here he invents his nickname) and a violent and abusive muggle, Tobias Snape. therefore he's a halfblood, just like harry (who has a pure blood father and a mudblood mother, a witch whose parents are both muggles) and lord Voldemort himself (his mother was a witch from an ancient pureblood family who had a son with a muggle who she kept seduced with a love potion)
I'm probably forgetting something, but still i hope it helps
AHHH I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!! so so excited to watch thank you🫂 love ya🫶
I think the actor from the chambers kinda portayed him spot on. You might suspect something but he was smooth talker. :D
14:00 I wasn't paying attention for a sec and you exclaiming "HERMIONE IS USING MAGIC!" made me laugh so hard XD
the last 10 minutes was pure confusion and chaos lmao i love it! can't wait to watch your reaction to the next movie omfg pls i'm so excited
"Avedaka - what?" Im deadd,I laughed so hard at you trying to think snape out of that situation knowing what was going to happen. Oh that was too fun and the editing was top notch.
I applaud the level of gay restraint not to use the Nina West "MAGIC!" more than you already did!
36:37 voldemort himself is Half Blood. His mother was from a pure blood family, she became obsessed with a muggle boy and used a love potion to get with him
Your editing is unparalleled 😂😂😂 I love the random memes
I love that I’ve already seen this but still so freaking hyped to see the edited one anyway!! Brad you slay! ❤️
the reaction, the editing = pure gold
😂😂
I absolutely love your commentary and the editing on your videos. There was not a single video I've watched where you wouldn't make me laugh.
Love how he says 'Dumble' like 'Dore' is his last name 🤣😂🤣
what i love about hermione using the confundus charm on mclaggen is that its like well known that using magic without a wand is quite difficult, but hermione does it so easily lmao
Your edits are possibly the funniest on TH-cam.
OMG OMG I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THISSS!!! I’m so excited to start, I can’t wait to see your reaction!
25:47 this is so funny omg. It goes from an intense fight scene to Brad talking about burritos-
The thing with Draco getting assigned to assassinate Dumbledore is actually a punishment from Voldemort to the Malfoys for Lucius fuckin up the job of getting him the prophecy in the last movie.
Brad vacillates from saying exactly what Harry is thinking to exactly what Hermione is thinking and I love it.
My fave scene is “be brave professor be brave like my mother “
"Otherwise she died for nothing" you can see it hit slughorn hard
now I can really only wish you luck with both Deathly Hallows movies especially the second one LMAO
I'm completely in love of your personality Brad. This reactions are the best and funnies
my spidey senses must be tingling... just opened up youtube to see if you'd posted this yet haha! very excited - always love how much your videos make me laugh! :)
Sectumsempra is such a brutal spell, oh my lord. Bleeding out, cut open by hundreds of cuts!?
That's just very metal. And it was invented by the ultimate emo kid. Very fitting imo
If it had been the Tom Riddle from Chamber of Secrets, no one would have thought he was weird
In the book, Dumbledore casts a freezing spell on Harry so he can't move or defend Dumbledore even though he desperately wants to
Regarding if people know Snape is a half-blood... probably not? Someone else on the bad side (can't say who because big book spoiler) is also a half-blood and if that were known, you'd wonder why anyone gave credit to the person.
oh hi namesake
"Curious" is in Azkaban after the end of the last movie - only Bellatrix and Voldemort escaped from the Department of Mysteries.
I thought his name was Celsius. Now I'm confused
The way this movie in particular was directed is so memorable to me. Like idk how to explain it but simple things like slughorn giving harry the luck potion stay in my mind
R.I.P. Dumble
Loove your reactions, hilarious and on point ❣
I wasn't supposed to laugh so hard at this particular movie. I cry everytime! 🤣🤣 you reaction and editing are PURE GOLD❤
AHHH SO EXCITED!! this is my favorite one!!
in the book, the last chapter is the funeral of dumbledore. It's umbelievable they didn't put that scene in the movie.
I'm loving the reactions
*draco literally bleeding out*
brad: i’m having burritos tonight🙂
Great reaction as always!! And RIP Dumble :)
brad your editing is just spectacular i am CRYING laughing
the next 2 are arguably the best out of the franchise cant wait to see them!!!!
For me, the most fun to watch reactor is Brad. The responses are everything! 😂❤
you pointing out that they win liquid luck by brewing death is something that i never thought about but honestly it’s very on point with hogwarts curriculum
Half bloods are not really looked down on too much, it’s really just the muggleborns that Voldy and his followers hate.
my favorite youtuber literally ever
actually voldemort is a halfblood aswell his father was Tom Riddle Senior a normal muggle he mentions this in Goblet of Fire and in the books his backround is explained further
BESTIE I LITERALLY JUST FINISHED A TERM PAPER AND WAS LOOKING FOR ENTERTAINMENT!!!
I love youu sm!!
I love how fast you want to put characters down!! 😂😂😂
I’m screaming at these comments from you! The Lavender one in Potions nearly took me out! 😂
Ah I loved this, your editing is spectacular. Looking so forward to seeing your reactions to the next two. RIP Dumble 😂
Always love your reactions. ❤ Can't wait for the last two movies. 💞
I don't know if anyone's said it already, but harry on the luck potion is how he is the entire time in the books. He's saaaassy
I enjoy sassy Harry so much in the books! In the movies he's just too bland
I love these reactions! The editing is everything!!
YO only 6 minutes in and already know this bout to be a banger of a reaction. Love all the little meme edits that spice things up
Your reactions are so hilarious I love it 😂❤
I continue to quote lavender at rons bedside bc ts was so funny. "He senses my presence." "I'm herrree, I'm herrrreee."
RIP Dumble! 😔 Brad! Hiii, loved this reaction as this is my favorite movie of the series! Can't wait for the final two! Ahhhh so close! ☺
This is absolutely my favorite one of the movies to see first time watchers react to... Followed closely by the last one 😊
“Where’s curious?” Aaaaahahahaha stop it 🤣
36:29 It is mostly just muggle borns who are looked down on, but to people like the death eaters half bloods are also seen as lesser than. The thing is that almost no one is pure blood anymore except some really old and inbred families like the malfoys and the blacks. The funny thing is that Voldemort is half bloods himself. His dad- tom riddle sr was a muggle.
these edits are brilliant...hilarious
YESSS FINALLY AAAAAAA
I love your Harry Potter videos oml and your editing is just 🤌🏻
I CLICKED SO FAST I MISSED BRAD'S HARRY REACTIONS
idk if anyone has said this but its revealed in the books, order of the phoenix and half blood prince i think, that voldemort was a half blood too, he had a witch mother and a muggle father, also rip dumble
This edit was really something :D I laughed so hard!! Great job! Loving all your reactions to HP! Of course, after this, can't wait for the last one :D
Also, Voldemort is a half-blood, too. His father was muggle. He said it btw. in the fourth movie, but one can only catch it when binging.
Also, Brad, have you seen the Peacemaker series? Freddie Stroma is gorgeous in it!
slayed the editing/HP reaction as always
Fun(ish) facts: the actor who plays young Tom Riddle is now Hardin in the After series and also the nephew of Ralph Fiennes (who plays older Voldemort) in real life. And the actor who plays teen Tom, you may recognise him from Fear the Walking Dead as he plays Nick Clark.
I’m so excited to see Brad entering Horcrux Territory. Just wait till the final movie.
