Karachi because of it's weather attracted a lot of people from other parts of Pakistan for economic reasons. Inner Sindh as well as inner Punjab as not developed so an influx of uneducated and unskilled people to the city. Mismanagement and a lot of corruption by the present government of Sindh,( Karachi never elects them..they come on rural Sindh vote).

I remember watching a video where a young Pakistani man from a TV channel talks to people about partition and it was very noticeable that the elderly generation thought it should never have happened and were saddened by the whole affair.

Not only ordinary people but if you look at the history of Americans visiting locally then you can count in Jackie Kennedy, President Lyndon B Johnson and Eisenhower , Marlon Brando, Dizzy Gillespie, Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, Barack Obama(during his college days) have all visited Pakistan.
