    I was inspired to try this a few weeks back and because it's so simple and easy to learn (my favourite type of submission), I subbed 2 guys pretty quickly with it and that was before I saw the details today of flaring the elbow.

      ​​@@alexneville8168 the key detail not mentioned in this video, and maybe it's mentioned in his other videos, is that the cross collar grip should NOT be as deep as when you go for a cross collar strangle (there it has to be the deepest you can get for the set-up). Instead aim to be in line with your opponent's collar bone/clavicle when you grip. See 1:25 in the video where he has his grip. This then gives you enough material to do the loop and then strangle. If you go too deep, there isn't enough material. So you have to adapt and be aware for each opponent size/type to get the hand position right first. It doesn't have to be in perfect position, just roughly there. Anyway if you have some success, let us all know.
