The MXR Script Phase 90 is a recreation of the original script logo pedal that made the phaser an effect to remember. The latest version of the MXR Script Phase 90 features an LED and a power jack as well as that sweet, sweet tone.

this phaser sounds so cool
phaser before distortion will produce a more subtle tone, while after distortion produces a thick non-subtle swooshy tone. i prefer it before distortion

I've got one of these and for me this sounds better before the overdrive.
@xMuchacho That's not what we found. The biggest different in the sound of Block vs Script is the prominent midrange in the Block's sweep and a subtle, warmer sound from the Script. If you are worried about volume drop, may we suggest the Retro Sonic Phaser which is a Script style with a depth and volume added! Thanks for watching,

@KG739 depends on your taste, though chorus can sound a bit too over-modulated in some situations

Would heavy distortion (Deftones, Tool etc.) wash out this pedal sound? Or would it compromise well.?
is there any difference in sound between the custom shop script with led.. and the one without led?
MXR(Dunlop) makes great stuff - the only pedal of theirs I don't care for is the Blue Box... ONE pedal out of their entire catalog, that's a pretty good track record!
What would you say are the tonal differences between this and the MXR Vintage Phase 45?
@marcusjamesk1 standard Boss adapter will work. I just got one of these today, and it ROCKS! Especially before distortion
The "script" version seems to be a bit "smoother" than the block version. Can any one tell me if I'm right or wrong?
i'm just wondering... can the mxr flanger reproduce the phaser subtle sound?
The newer Custom Shop Script Phase 90 w/LEDs are true bypass. These have a red PC board labelled, "REV C". The older versions with the green boards are not. I think those older pedals are "hardwire bypass"--not "TRUE hardwire bypass", meaning the switch comes AFTER the effect, and your signal still gets split and loaded down even in bypass mode. So you may notice some loss of high frequencies when these older pedals are in the chain and bypassed. The newer REV C pedals shouldn't cause this.
Sounds Killer, Any volume boost issues like with the block logo Phase 90? I had one and that really bugged me but I love the sound.

Hey GPS, I am thinking about getting the script w/led! My question is there a volume drop with this pedal or should i need to be looking at the EVH version, I haven't played neither one of them? I'm wanting the one that has the warmest and fat Tone without volume drop. I thank you for any info. Chasingtone.

Van halen's songs are the best to demo a phaser... Edie Van halen is the biggest master using the phase

I have the block logo version and for some reason it filters the sound to make it sound like crap and i cant fix it

does this pedal suck your tone ? any experiences anyone?, Ive heard so many shit I dont know what to believe about all the phase 90s
I mainly don't like the pahse 90 despite everyone go on and on like it's the greatest thing ever, because there's only one knob and I like to really fuck with the frequency to create interesting sounds if there's more options available.
This though still sounds good enough. I may go check one out for myself. It's got a nice smoothness to it in the mid section. Higher speed doesn't have much depth and throb to it though.

It's actually the same circuit as the block phase 90, not the script logo reissue like they market it as....
@KG739 go with a phaser then, but youd want a good one, real cheap phasers from my experience kinda kill the tone and make everything sound like a half-assed alien invasion
