Man honestly so sad to see great things getting cut during development,especially map expansions like Liberty city and North Yankton being accessible in free roam. It would have been so cool to PvP and explore liberty city in GTA 5/Online. And maybe rockstar could’ve expanded on these map expansions by adding heists to them wasted potential in my opinion. Rockstar could have done much more with GTA 5/online instead of adding generic online updates. The last 2 years has been the worst for GTA online the DLCS are of course getting smaller to bring the focus to gta 6 but still rockstar could make an interesting update to online instead of boring contact missions.

I really doubt all of Liberty City would of been available to explore. I think it would have just been a mission where you fly out to a specific area in Liberty City. Maybe a restaurant to do a hit? Like in GTA:San Andreas when CJ flew out there to do a hit in an Italian restaurant

in Lester's last assassination in story mode, we could learn that the Mile High Club's contractor is a crime lord and the skyscraper is a front for money laundering, so having more things there don't exactly make a lot of sense

All DLC's post import/export or so, have a flatter texturing style which is similar to modern physically based rendering games, even though GTA V doesn't have full PBR, the new DLC's have flatter textures in that style when compared to day one assets, or DLC's like heists etc, the story dlc was being worked on alongside heists so any assets left from it will have similar style If a texture starts with v_ or agt_ or agent_ or nxg_ then it's definitely from scrapped SP dlc

Best guess about why is licensing. Either some of those artists didn't want to license, especially since GTA has long been somewhat controversial. Or they just wanted too much money.
A lot of songs do seem to be cut but Slippin into darkness by war is In the game. I’m not sure if this song and others were added in updates but some songs on the list did make it into the game. I do get a lot of Mandela affect when it comes to a lot of cut radio Los Santos songs cause I could’ve sworn a lot of those songs were in the game at release that are not there anymore. I could be wrong tho, but those songs feel like they weren’t meant to be in the final version of gta5 considering the time era
As someone who loves just driving around the map and listening to the radio stations some days, seeing the cut songs from my favorite stations has made me slightly sad at some of the hits I could've listened to 😢
12:47 The social networking mission was almost certainly going to be for Devin Weston during the whole car boosting part of the game which ends with the crew getting screwed over in the mission pack man. At that same mission if I remember correctly there is a red stinger on the trailer which is the only car that isn't stolen during a mission in the final version of the game.
yes, Social Networking was meant to be the mission to steal that unexplained red Stinger you can see on the trailer in Pack Man, (at least according to Vadim M) the mission was to have the player using a fake identity of a "lady of the night" and set up an online date with Brucie from GTA 4 (yes, he's meant to return in GTA V way earlier than Diamond Casino), in order to steal his car
They also used gta 5 assets in the early development of gta 6 for the bug testing and stuff. But in the trailer the police cars are completely re-modeled.
The whole gang territory/cop territory concept does make sense when you take into account that, in an Xbox 360 GTA V beta, there were unused contacts that allowed you to call for backup from the Lost MC or the Vagos, as well as calling Lamar for backup from the Families.
All that cut music has me feeling betrayed😭😭😭😭 Also felt like Solomon Richards' story arc/string of missions had something missing, crazy that I was right years later
I feel like the cop vs gangs would be nice but also that at some point the new ideas would be limited so if they added like separate lobbies it would be nice
Another note: The cops were supposed to be more advanced than they turned out to be, probably because of time constraints, but a few things left over in the files, but unused are: -NPC Busting (Cops were meant to be able to arrest random NPCs, voicelines and leftover animations for it) -Holding fire to attempt a bust at higher wanted levels (still happens when in cars tho) -Batons (They are still in cops inventory, but the cops have been given a flag to use their best weapon IE their gun, so they never use their baton) -Advanced SWAT (SWAT was meant to rush interiors while cops wait outside, this got disabled before release, but interiors still have the flag for it, causing SWAT to bug out and start despawning and their cars to have noone inside) -Patrolling cops, cops were meant to drive around the map, still happens around mission row PD, but it was supposed to be city-wide and even in Sandy Shores and Poleto Bay, sadly the feature (when re-enabled) is broken and only 1 cop spawns in the car, and they do not stop spawning after you gain a wanted level (as it should be, basing it off how GTA IV was).
The music they removed would've made the game much more nostalgic because i remember alot of the cut songs from Radio Los Santos , & replaying the game now would've been much more memorable for me personally
4:00 I'm not sure whether these are actual beta names, since they're pseudo names found on the Rush casting call (the 2011 GTA V casting call disguised as project Rush), so these could just be codenames, since many sound similar to the final names eitherway, or at least have the same flow in pronounciation
I reckon that PMR radio would have had tracks by Conor & Jay who used to do a lot of audio stuff during the 2D and 3D era games. You can actually hear some muffled clips of their music coming out of residential areas in the current version
11:45 licensing is a bitch and you'll never get every song you want into the game. it mostly boils down to not being able to come to an agreement with labels/artists and cutting music you don't mind losing as to not go over budget
3:48 the 2nd beta logo is literally just the Los Angeles Angels logo reversed, so i think for copyright reasons the decided to go for the 3rd, which is inspired in the Oakland (now Las Vegas) Athletics, but it’s not that identical to the original logo. Good decision that they went for the final logo though
Sharmoota Job would be a great way to introduce mansions to online as well then can easily make that job into a online heist and have us host it by buying mansions
given the cut voicelines, Sharmoota Job might just not fit the game's tone, it was probably prototyped when GTA V was conceived as a more sarcastic and bombastic B-movie game (it still is a B-movie game, but to a less extent), although true, it could've also been a tutorial to buying houses, but doesn't that feel redundant when you've already been introduced to buying properties at the end of Nervous Ron?

Sucks so much we never got that single player DLC Steven is talking about Hopefully in GTA VI they actual make the story DLC both single player and multiplayer. Like you shouldn’t be able to log into Online to do a story mission and then just get griefed within a minute. Theres no way thats beneficial for the game btw. Like imagine logging into WoW and then getting attacked while idling in Stormwind. It’s sooo dumb rn(yeah you can opt out, but that kinda ruins the whole online part)

Fun Fact: There's a nightclub called "The Bahama Mama's Club" which was going to be an accessible nightclub where you could do activities in similar to the Vanilla Unicorn or the Bar in Sandy Shores. I don't know the reason why it got cut but if you manage to glitch or use mods and get in the club you'll find it completely decorated with an NPC in the entrance. Would've been cool to see that!

Probably due to hardware performance. Dont forget this game ran on xbox 360 and ps3. Even ps4 and xbox one wouldnt be able to handle so much at once

A lot of songs do seem to be cut but Slippin into darkness by war is In the game. I’m not sure if this song and others were added in updates but some songs on the list did make it into the game. I do get a lot of Mandela affect when it comes to a lot of cut radio Los Santos songs cause I could’ve sworn a lot of those songs were in the game at release that are not there anymore. I could be wrong tho, but those songs feel like they weren’t meant to be in the final version of gta5 considering the time era

12:47 The social networking mission was almost certainly going to be for Devin Weston during the whole car boosting part of the game which ends with the crew getting screwed over in the mission pack man. At that same mission if I remember correctly there is a red stinger on the trailer which is the only car that isn't stolen during a mission in the final version of the game.
yes, Social Networking was meant to be the mission to steal that unexplained red Stinger you can see on the trailer in Pack Man, (at least according to Vadim M) the mission was to have the player using a fake identity of a "lady of the night" and set up an online date with Brucie from GTA 4 (yes, he's meant to return in GTA V way earlier than Diamond Casino), in order to steal his car
They also used gta 5 assets in the early development of gta 6 for the bug testing and stuff. But in the trailer the police cars are completely re-modeled.
They made Steven record himself acting as Michaels wife and didnt even use it at the end lmao

The whole gang territory/cop territory concept does make sense when you take into account that, in an Xbox 360 GTA V beta, there were unused contacts that allowed you to call for backup from the Lost MC or the Vagos, as well as calling Lamar for backup from the Families.

Another note:
The cops were supposed to be more advanced than they turned out to be, probably because of time constraints, but a few things left over in the files, but unused are:
-NPC Busting (Cops were meant to be able to arrest random NPCs, voicelines and leftover animations for it)
-Holding fire to attempt a bust at higher wanted levels (still happens when in cars tho)
-Batons (They are still in cops inventory, but the cops have been given a flag to use their best weapon IE their gun, so they never use their baton)
-Advanced SWAT (SWAT was meant to rush interiors while cops wait outside, this got disabled before release, but interiors still have the flag for it, causing SWAT to bug out and start despawning and their cars to have noone inside)
-Patrolling cops, cops were meant to drive around the map, still happens around mission row PD, but it was supposed to be city-wide and even in Sandy Shores and Poleto Bay, sadly the feature (when re-enabled) is broken and only 1 cop spawns in the car, and they do not stop spawning after you gain a wanted level (as it should be, basing it off how GTA IV was).

Sharmoota Job would be a great way to introduce mansions to online as well then can easily make that job into a online heist and have us host it by buying mansions
given the cut voicelines, Sharmoota Job might just not fit the game's tone, it was probably prototyped when GTA V was conceived as a more sarcastic and bombastic B-movie game (it still is a B-movie game, but to a less extent), although true, it could've also been a tutorial to buying houses, but doesn't that feel redundant when you've already been introduced to buying properties at the end of Nervous Ron?

I think you may be a little mistaken, if you took these names from the casting call then these names were only used because they didn’t want fans to know the official names before release
Fun Fact: There's a nightclub called "The Bahama Mama's Club" which was going to be an accessible nightclub where you could do activities in similar to the Vanilla Unicorn or the Bar in Sandy Shores. I don't know the reason why it got cut but if you manage to glitch or use mods and get in the club you'll find it completely decorated with an NPC in the entrance. Would've been cool to see that!
