I would want to buy two copies of each book I get so I can annotate one and still have a nice clean book on the other 💀 I know it's extra but I love both😭
Omg I could never write on my books. I love my books soooo much, they are all in mint condition and I freak out when there’s a slight bend or tear anywhere.
I'm the opposite of you xD I love my books also very much - and I don't mind if you see that I love them so much that they look read. I love giving my books a personality that way. They become my own and no longer look like every other book, like they once did when I got them from the bookstore.
@@NippyBooks Same, lol. I found a hack to not get creases in the spine, though! I just hate when you accidentally crease the front/back cover, and it feels all bumpy when you’re reading your book 😭
i recently bought a signed copy of one of my favorite new authors’ books, do y’all think it would be a bit awful for me to annotate and write in it? since it’s signed, i just am not sure if it’s wrong to do that. any thoughts on my little dilemma would be greatly appreciated 😘
i think that mostly relates to how you feel about the book, i don't find it disrespectful or anything (unless you don't intend on keeping the book), but rather annotating is a method to record your experience in the book itself and make it more 'yours' and personal. if you feel like the book is too precious to write on it though, you can just put the color coded tabs and annotate your thoughts about that on a different paper (or get it online and annotate it on Kindle/reading apps) :D hope it helped (these are just my thoughts tho)
Annotating is so cool but my handwriting isn't good enough and it'll just bug me plus it physically pains me to write on my books. I could probably do digital annotations though.

my heart breaks if I see the bookshelf of someone with hundreds of books and they all look unread...books with broken spine, highlights, writing or tabs look like they were read with the passion they deserve.

just use sticky notes but don’t writ won’t the actual book
