Do these hybrids activate full regen braking when you completely let go off the throttle or do you need to press a brake slightly to achieve max regen? Can they brake using regen in normal stop and go traffic without using mechanical brakes if the traffic isn't abruptly braking?
You have two modes: D and B. In B mode the regen is much stronger, but probably the strongest regenerative braking you have with brake pedal (similar to electric cars). Yes, they use regen in a traffic jam.
If I understood you correctly. Even in all electric cars having regen strong as 30% of total friction brake power is extremely good. In this car is much less.
