John, loved the commentary in this video. Gave me some new things to think about with a few positions I normally get in, thanks.

John, thinking of taking some lessons finally since my job has changed and I can play tournaments again. Do you still give lessons?

Again a very good chess video. The only thing I'm having difficulties with from time to time is the speed you explain possible lines, I mean the lines you're considering but not carry out. The visiulisation of it is an important factor to be fully with you in your thinking process. greetings from Belgium, standard rating: 1550

John when a player becomes FM (dunno what F stands for), I'm, and GM? Is it by their ratings? Or you need to win some tournaments? Newbie here in the hierarchy of masters.

Fins, you should see if ChessNetwork would do a first to 10 points or what not challenge match! I think it would be dope!

+Fic56 This is easily my most-requested opponent :) Of course I would love to play a match with ChessNetwork, but he has declined that offer. Thus, it probably won't happen.

dear john. i believe you can be the us champion. i hope it does not sound like i am badgering. however. you are the top player in 15 minute games. honestly i think you could beat the top players in world. you are probably thinking " this guy cant be serious" or " did he get a lobotomy." lol'....jk. if you have confidence in yourself you can accomplish anything.

Doesn't 17. d5 lose black's bishop? JB has to move his queen, no?

Nevermind, if after 17...Qb4 18. dxe6 then the rook is hitting the queen on the d-file. D'oh

why not 14. knight g4 15. bishop g5. bishop b3. 16 queen d3. f6. 17. bishop d2. bishop f7. or i even got a better idea john. after 16 queen d3 play queen b4. threatening bishop c4.so let me think witch line is better. im trying to refute it without bringing it up on a board. see the second line i think is better. the idea i have after playing 16... f6 is trying to play e5. im not sure if center operations like that need to be done. reason why i say that is black is flexible. maybe if the queens were traded then e5 with f6 supporting it is nice. but with queens on. making white take more time pondering. is e5 a threat or is e5 a weakness. i already like blacks position. 14 knight g4 15 bishop g5. bishop b3. 16. queen d3 queen b5 17 bishop d2. you made white move bishop without playing f6 is where this line has more logic too it. 17. bishop d2. queen b6 18. h3 knight h6 19. rook a3 bishop e6. 20 bishop e3 queen a6 21. queen d2 with that move black is lost so line 1 with f6 is better so that knight can come too f7. you would not have played 16. queen b4. maybe queen b4 can be reserved. 16.queen d3 f6. 17. bishop d2 bishop h6. maybe. im not sure. 17. bishop d2 e5 yea e5 trying to gain some central control.
