Thanks for your question! In theory, the natural convection could affect any object situated in the same space as the wire. This of course depends on the magnitude of the heat being generated by the wire and the temperature of the insulation. If one desired, you could place another meshed geometry in the same simulation and use a contour plot to see the heat effects visually. Hope that helped!
