I have a requirement (more a wish) that when someone hovers over a visualisation, they want to know where the data came from (what system). I was thinking throw this in the properties field rather than making a bunch of tooltips
Nice! But you must be careful when you have slicers on the page. If the user selects only one month, when you will go on top of the donut you will see the name of the month instead of the name of the product. How would you solve that?

I'm not sure what you are trying to do with the button. If the button visual is just overlaid on top of the graph, selecting the graph will cause it to come on top. Grouping visuals can help with that. Not sure if you have tried that.

Great share. You could also do this by using the switch true dax function. This maybe easier to write when trying to consolidate lots of tool tips.
