  • Mark Rodgers, while being heavily involved in the Motocross world as of recent years, has a history steeped in Mountain Bike Legends. Growing up in Big Bear, California, in it's pinnacle of Downhill Racing and the US MTB scene of the late 1990s, he speaks of the drastic changes the sport has taken in that time, both good and bad, and the opportunity he has had to meet and manage some of the sport's greats.

This was such a great podcast! Enjoyed the reminiscing on the good old days but also loved the discussion around current racing ideas especially putting the IXS or other feeder race the weekend before a World Cup could be such a great idea.

As far as other 90’s flat pedal guys go you can’t forget Warner or the great Dave Cullinan who was the first guy to make us all reconsider flats. Easton even made a special “Cully” pedal coz of him.

NORBA national races were incredible. The pits alone made the trip to the mountain worthwhile. I remember the amount of schwag was enough to last a whole year! I mean stickers, small testers from deodorants, chain lubes, etc. even small bike components. I would always take my dh bikes to get it serviced by top mechanics, even had a slightly scratched sram 9.0sl white derailleur swapped to a fresh new one just because the mechanic thought it looked bad. Big team mechanics gave away barely used dh tires to anyone asking for them for free, rims with light dents, you name it! Everything was so extra back then, got Sobe drinks for free, as many as you wanted. It was sick, and I'm glad I got to experience it.
