Orlando should make you a city ambassador or connect with you because videos like these really help people who are coming from out of town
We (family of 4) stayed at the Drury 1 month ago. It was such an easy walk to Disney Springs. The included breakfast was excellent and i watched EPCOT fireworks from the pool! The front desk staff was so helpful. We were chatting while we checked in. I mentioned that we had reservations for T-Rex the following day. The Drury had a coupon for their customers to receive a free appetizer at T-Rex. Concerierge checked our magic bands for us. We definitely recommend!
Drury was OK but I found the beds too firm for me.
I was a Disney bubble person until I stayed off property ONCE at a nice condo resort. It was so much better. You get so much more for your money, but you have to be willing to drive.
@@TheDutchCody, I mean, you’re going to pay for transportation to and from the resort anyway, so it’s a trade off. I guess you need to price it out and see what works best for your own situation.
I think they waved parking fees for Disney resorts not long ago
Parking fees at the parks just went up.😢
Do you happen to remember the name of the condo resort property?
@@lilcute12008, We stay at Westgate Vacation Villas if we’re going to Disney, and Westgate Lakes if we’re going to Universal. Just unplug your condo phone if you stay at any condo resort or they will bother you to attend timeshare presentations. The amenities are amazing. We prefer Westgate Vacation Villas of the two, but they’re both gorgeous.
You know what I’d like to see you do, for the bigger families, the top 3-5 Apartment Like resorts near Disney/the parks! Those are the ONLY ones we stay at as they have kitchens and we always cook when we are up there. Saves a TON of $$ doing cooking breakfast and dinner at the resort! Great Vid Dev 🎉😊
@SimplyElisa79 what's name of apartments and street name?
We stayed at the new Drury Plaza hotel in May. Absolutely loved it! Spacious rooms, great food and beverages. Transportation was good once we understood their routes. The busses are not shared with any other resorts but do go to multiple parks at different times. Great video! Thanks for sharing 😊
Feels like a silly question to ask but do the busses pick up from the parks as well? Especially in the evenings?
@@soupysoup9340 Not silly. Yes there're return busses also. Depending on the time of day the bus will pick up at all four parks, however. The slower times of day. they have a schedule you can view on line at their website. They ask that you reserve your seat but unless it's an extremely busy time it's not necessary.
Hey Dev! This is a great budget update for everyone who is planning on making a trip to the parks and wants to stay off-site and wants to save some money and goto both Disney and Universal!
I’ve stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort for the last 25+ years. Hands down the BEST family resort just minutes away from Disney property. Massive resort with lots to offer at some of the lowest prices in the area. I’ve seen 200/night for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen room.
LOVE this video! Thank you!🎉😊
Good information on hotels near Disney. Thanks so much for sharing!❤
This is a great video idea. I’m so glad you did something like this!
Great work Dev! This vid is so helpful for those of us planning our Orlando vacations!
I’m staying at dockside for 2 days in September for $65 each day lol can’t get much better than that
What and where is Dockside??
@@lorenzoclark3616 dockside is the cheapest hotel which is a 6 minute bus ride to universal. It’s by far the cheapest universal hotel and it’s by far the best (for the price). It has cheap and delicious food as well as amazing amenities and services
Love this kind of content. Keep it up, Dev.
Excellent video with great information!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you Dev. Just saw your video on Hilton Homewood Suites. Came back to this one…thanks for these videos!
Nice, informative video Dev! The Fairfield and Study looked by good to me😊
always look forward to your posts! my favorite theme park content creator by a mile
Thank you for all the advice you never fail Dev best to your family
excellent as always.
I love this kind of video! Ways to save while visiting the parks are always appreciated! 🎉 and I love that you mentioned which are pet friendly, because we always bring ours!
Thanks so much, Dev! I’m in the process of researching hotels as I am finally going next November since I bought Disney passes in 2019!
Thanks Dev! I look forward to your Drury hotel review in the future.
Hi Dev, this video was so helpful and informative. It must have taken a lot of time and effort to put it together. All your videos are great but I just wanted to acknowledge the work you do. Thank you so much ❤
Great info Dev. The Hilton hotels are my go to as well. I’m with the rewards program.
Hey David. Thanks for the suggestions My coworker stayed at Drury and she and her husband loved it!
This great information video on budget hotels
Yesssss this is the content I need!!!?
Thank you!!! We were just looking for this 🎉
Glad I could help!
Great video! We are also Hilton fans (Hilton Diamond). Hope to see you also share your top 5 favorite higher-end resorts. Always informative and honest videos. We appreciate your work!
I am so excited to watch this, because I’ve been wondering this same thing! Very few people cover anything off property!
These places are absolutely awesome Dev! We love the Fairfield Inn! So close to Disney, 2minutes from the entrance of property. The breakfast is 1st rate and it's free. Thanks for your hard work and diligence in these recommendations ❤
Thanks for the info buddy! :)
No problem 👍
As a Canadian who has not been back to WDW since Covid, and I went nearly annually, these look so much better. I used to be scared of non-Disney hotels but Disney removing perks, including airport transportation, makes this so worth trying next time. Disney hurting itself with short-term cuts.
Morning Dev happy Thursday, I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter
We've stayed at the Holiday Inn Disney Springs location and love it. Free transportation to and from all WDW parks, great food on-site and a nice pool...also walking distance to Disney Springs. Almost forgot it's always reasonably priced!
Hi Dev ! You give the best (truthful) reviews. So appreciate you! And love to you and Bianca and family❤
Facts.
We’re coming to Orlando in September and have booked the Drury. Walking distance to Disney Springs and from there you can get to where you need to go or use the free transport. The breakfast looks great and the other amenities look good value. We always stay on property so this will be a change but makes it a bit more affordable when everything is so expensive just now. Thanks for the review and the info!
Hey Dev thank you for showing us how we can save some money!!
Great vlog
new subscribwer. loved your commentary! very informative for someone planning a florida vacation. have you any other vlogs related to accomodations near discovery cove orland?j i saw your video of the park and fell in love with the relaxing and cakming environment. best wishes
I've stayed where the Drury is located when it was the best western and I loved the hotel and the proximity to Disney springs as well as the theme parks.
I used to stay at the homewood suites and Hilton garden lake buena vista, it was a good value with free parking. Our last trip before moving to Orlando we stayed at the Home2 suites in winter garden and it was a good value for the price and location, brand new digs too.
The drury is where we will be staying in November. Hear nothing but great things about this place and glad it made your list!
I am planning a trip for next year. You definitely have me interested in some of these properties since I have a lot of kids. Have you reviewed the hotels at Marriott Village? I couldn’t find a video. Thanks for showing these budget friendly hotels!!!
Stayed at Universal Endless Summer Dockside in 2022 and really enjoyed it. Great budget choice
Great video!!! I'm so glad you mentioned Drury Inn, it's an unbelievable deal when you factor in that there's no nightly resort fee, free breakfast, free coffee, soda, and popcorn all day, and the 5:30pm kickback that includes two adult beverages and "snacks" which in my opinion can be dinner ( hot dog bar, baked potatoes, chili and then a different option each night such as meatballs, mashed potatoes and salad, etc). You just can't beat that. You're also close enough to walk to disney springs, they provide free buses to the parks. I would recommend this over Lake Buena Vista Wyndham Garden Inn across the street. No food options, $30 a night resort fee, and the hotel rooms are starting to feel outdated even with the recent refurb.
Great advice! We usually stay at Hilton hotels also. Hampton Inn, Tru and others. In a few stays as a Hilton Honors Member we earn free stays. Great perks.
What a great video. I usually stay at the Sheraton Vistana which is also very close to the parks and have a kitchen. We cook meals, and bring food into the park which saves you lots of money too. Staying onsite is nice but for the expense you don't really get much. Off-site is much better for me and family.
We love the Embassy suites resort Disney good neighbor hotel
The Homewood Suites at Flamingo Crossing was a great choice for me and my family. Beautiful area and clean well maintained hotel. We will stay again
Thanks for this Dev. We're always looking to get iver for a quick week from the UK...just need some cheap flights 😂
Devin, we haven't stayed at any of the five you reviewed, but we stayed tons of times at the All Star Resorts at Disney. My favorite is All Star Music. Being a musician makes that place my fav choice. We also just got back from a Universal trip the last week in June. We stayed at Endless Summer Surfside. Last year we stayed at Dockside. We like Dockside better. In September we will be back down and will be staying for our second time at Cypress Palms condo resort on 192 right behind the Cracker Barrel. It was a great stay, very quiet. It is just a few minutes drive to Disney Springs. There are so many places to stay at down there, that it can be overwhelming just trying to find the right place for each family. We also stayed once at Mystic Dunes which is just off of 192. It was an awesome stay there as well. It's just a little further drive to Disney Springs from there. Hope this helps some other commenters.
Great video
We usually rent a home thru VRBO. Our kids are in college and with the food allergies, a home is our best option for us. For shorter stays, Townplace Suites in Winter Garden or the Polynesian Isles resort are great places as well. Don't forget Dollar Tree has lots of snacks for in / out of park treats that wont break the bank!
Thank u so much for this. :)
I'd literally just sleep in a Tent ⛺ , you're basically just sleeping and showering there, I want the most basic cheapest spot. 😂😂
Great video, I love your budget friendly picks. But Dev, keep the Flamingo Crossings hotels on the down low!🤫🤣 I have stayed at both Fairfield Inn and it’s sister hotel TownPlace Suites (they share a pool and pool bar). Excellent options that don’t feel “budget” at all! Super close to Disney parks and Disney Springs. The Flamingo Crossings “square” has some nice food choices (fast and casual sit down) and having Target and Walgreens is super convenient. Would also recommend taking a short Lyft to Riviera Resort and hopping on the Skyliner or eating at that resort.
😂
Whoops meant to say I stayed at SpringHill Suites, not Fairfield. I’m sure it’s equally great! TownPlace and SpringHill share a pool and pool bar but never seemed “overcrowded”
first, keep it up dev love your videos ❤
Shared on Facebook love watching Dev ❤
Endless summer is my hotel 🏨 I love going there
The flamingo crossing area was a nice quiet unknown haven until the recent development boom. The townplace and springhill suites were where we have stayed many times.
I agree, we stayed there 2 nights at the Townplace Suites. The rooms have kitchens and I was able to make breakfast for our son who needs gluten free. The free breakfast was not bad, and they did have gluten free Udis muffins and bagels, and individual yogurts he could eat. I made his eggs in the room. The hotel room was very quiet, the pool was very clean.
Great video Dev. Don't forget if you're a AAA member to check out the discount being offered at these hotels.
Great point!
Hey Dev! We have not stayed at this particular Drury, but we happened upon one in Cincinnati, OH and fell in love with Drury. My daughter ended up getting sick during our stay in Cincy and the staff was exceptional. We have never been better cared for. The kickback is a full meal and this was a game changer since we unexpectedly needed dinner and having it there for us was so appreciated. The food was great for a continental style service. Better than any other hotel brand continental food service I have had. I encourage anyone to stay with Drury. We have stayed at multiple locations and had the same experience at all of them. Their employees all seem to really love working for them. We switched from Hilton to Drury as our number one choice. We now only stay with Hilton if Drurys are unavailable. I hope you try a staycation at their hotel soon. 😊
Stayed at the Drury just before the refurb - it was still VERY nice.
We prefer to stay on Disney world property but those look like great alternatives . Thanks Dev 😎
I'm really looking forward to staying at the new Drury Inn on my next trip. I've stayed in that building (or the older part of it) when it was a Best Western and it was totally fine but the amenities there now, like dang man they've up-sold that spot tenfold.
Flamingo Crossings residence inn or townplace suites also great options with free breakfast and free parking last time I checked. There are so many great places to eat and drink at Flamingo crossing regardless without crowds its just a great place to stay.
Thank you for showing us a cheaper version of places to stay
I love your voice. Very cool.
Hi Dev, Thank you for your posts, if possible can you give a little more information on express passes / lightning lanes. We are travelling from the uk with our children and really don’t understand the concept .many thanks Sue Stagg
These are good videos to have. Although I am an on property guy mostly... there are some really great options in and around the theme parks. I would only add a reminder to call the resort/hotel and confirm any perks advertised because things change in a heart beat and you dont want to get caught expecting a needed perk only to find out they canceled it.
Happy Wednesday! ❤
Friend stayed at Dockside- 3 days got two days free. Went to a suite, was amazing tbh!
Thanks for another informative video Dev! We have always stayed off-property due to friends owning a place in Windsor Palms. My hubby & I stayed on-property, sans the kids, for the first time last Sept. when popping down for a quick anniversary trip. We stayed at Pop Century to be budget friendly. Pros were the convenience (Skyliner to Epcot), early entry to the park, and shuttles to Disney Springs. Only con for us was the parking fee at the property (we just didn't realize ahead of time). We're considering another trip this Sept. (Hello Epcot Food & Wine festival 😏) My biggest question would be what off-property hotels still offer perks like early entry? 🤔
Thank you I used to live in the area for forty years but since I moved away many things have changed.
Great info. Those are pretty reasonable pri9.
Thank you…. 😊
And I would say check into the transportation to the parks if you don't have your own car and don't want to pay for an Uber-sometimes websites say they have shuttles but they run somewhat infrequently or the earliest ones are full before you have a chance to sign up
you forgot to mention you can get a nice view of the fireworks from those last 2 hotels from the back of the hotels
We too, are big Hilton fans. I would love to see you check out some of the Hilton grand vacation clubs that are out in the Orlando area. They are also very affordable.
Hello Dev, stayed at the Homewood suites one and loved it. ❤ we want to stay at one walking distance to Disney springs snd not to pricey. Any suggestions by side the one you just said? Thanks hi to Bianca she seems so genuine and stunningly beautiful 😊
I have now subscribed as really enjoying your content after watching a few video's! We are in the middle of planning our first (possibly only) trip to DW Jan/Feb 2024 with TA. For my daughter's 21st! We are quite excited as something I wanted to do for so long with her! It is so much to consider, on-site/off-site/DW/Universal... so much! I really like the price/look of Universal hotels but not sure if taking Ubers to DW will rack up and better to stay at DW as will be there more days. If I could I would split-stay between DW/Universal but package deals do not seem to offer that.😭🤪 Or off-site that have shuttles to both and do Uber once in while when shuttles do not work well for our time. So much, but I do know we are trying to do it as budget friendly as we can as our flights will be lots and we would rather spend money on other things then parks... photo maker, Genie+, eat and drink around the world, maybe even a desert party to watch fireworks! So excited, thank you for all the budget friendly tips and ALL the reviews as been very helpful!
Great information dev on the hotels. Disney hotels are way to expensive as you are basically only getting two queen beds in a room, I have stayed at a few Disney hotels and don’t think the benefits (if any) are worth what they charge.
Thanks for this video well needed 🥰
You can also rent out 1 bedrooms (or larger) through an OTA for some of the timeshare resorts pretty cheap-Cypress pointe 2 bedroom ~$155/night; Hilton vacation club grande villas 2 bed ~$164/night; 1 bedroom Sheraton Vistana ~158/night for random days in August. Might be worth doing a video or 2 on these for larger family options
We've been pleased with Choice Comfort Inn and Suites at 7495 Canada Ave. near Universal Orlando. A full free breakfast is provided, with no parking fee and no resort fee and a working hot tub. We also enjoy the covered patio with ceiling fans and fitness room. For my work, the WiFi has worked very well. Since we traveled a good bit last year due to family concerns, the points added up quickly with the Choice rewards program, so we were able to secure free hotel nights fairly frequently. For this year, I see many nights cost $80 each day as a base rate at this particular hotel.
I’m glad you emphasized the no resort fees. I just feel like that’s nickel and diming. Also the Marriott program in called Bonvoy but you were close
I used to stay at Townplace Suites Lake Buena Vista and a Ramada. But I just missed being on Disney property.
Great video. This helps so much. I stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton (Flamingo Crossing) recently and the room was nice, good location and close to stores. Thanks to this video update now I'm looking forward to stay at Drury Plaza for our next trip. I've seen it so many times but hestiated to give it a try until now. Thanks for sharing!
You live the best life🎉
I love the doubletree trowr hotel across thr street from universal. It's a beautiful hotel and the staff is very nice. It's a Hilton hotel. It's a nice walk over to the parks.
It has been some years back so off the top of my head I can't think of the name but I stayed at a hotel there that had weekly rates that were about $250 - 275 per week. It was literally like a 5 minute walk from Universal Studios.
4:55 I am a fan of Hilton gardens holtel
Motel 6 and Super 8 near Universal is affordable! Also free parking and continental breakfast! Also the Red Roof lnn is affordable also. Its 5 minutes from Sea World!😊
Please stay at the Drury and use the transportation for early park entry for the parks and let us know your thoughts. That’s the one thing that’s holding me back from booking there. Thanks for your report.
Dev!! You guys have to stay at the Drury. We stayed once and we are in love. The Kickback is basically light dinner options and it includes three alcoholic beverages per adult per day included in your stay. The staff is TOP NOTCH amazing. I recommend finding Kevin. He is the BEST! Looking forward to that video if you ever stay. Thank you so much for this video! ❤️
Thank you for the information! I will definitely stay there soon for a full review.
Thanks for this , another channel only goes to the upscale expensive Disney hotels , that most families can’t afford 😃
This is my favourite one of Dev’s thumbnails so far 😂
Dev do more videos like this!!!
It can be budget friendly if you rent from a reputable owner...but bonnet creek and orange lake resorts are WONDERFUL. (Timeshares but people do rent them out)
What about Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott @ Sea World? I'm looking at booking with them next year. I see they provide shuttle busses to Discovery Cove, Universal Studios and I think Disney Springs?
WESTGATE LAKE RESORT A GOOD ONE TOO
Is it budget friendly? We're looking for Budget Friendly.
