I grew up hunting and fishing at the first camp into Markham pond, at the entrance to Enchanted. Watched them build Enchanted Ski area back in the 60's. Skied it until it closed, what a loss. Have hiked and hunted/fished that whole area, until I left Maine in 1974. Really miss it.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful cabin and property...amazing views all around! If it were just me I would definitely want to buy this property. Great price for an awesome cabin on 43 acres as well. However, my wife is from Boston and she moved to Virginia to get away from the long winters. Now that we're retired she wants to return to Maui, my home, or to the Gulf Coast of Florida. Although I'm from an island that's warm year round, I prefer four seasons. Serving in the Air Force for 23 years prepared me for different climates. My stepdaughter just bought a 43 acre farm with house, barn and other structures in the foothills of the Appalachians in Virginia. I would love to tell her I bought 43 acres with a cabin in the mountains of Maine. I will consult with the "boss" and see what happens.

I lived in Northern Maine for over two years back in 1983 - 1984 when I was only 19 years old, I had just joined the Air Force and got stationed at Loring Air Force Base. At the age of 19 I just hated the desolation, it rained all the time, cold, and all the snow. The summer only lasted two weeks. I hunted deer out in the Allagash Wilderness camped in a tent out there. Now that I am older living in a North Carolina city and saw this video. Id love to move into a cabin like this and retire out there in the middle of nowhere away from all the noise, traffic and idiots I find myself surrounded by now. Thanks for posting this video it's just the type of camp I could seriously consider buying.

We’ve been to Jackman many times .A friend of ours had a camp on Parlin lake and we would snow mobile in from there . Great memories thanks for the video .
My problem is the current state of socioeconomic trends in this region. Over the past 4 years, particularly 2020, with the social distancing/work from home ideology, there has been an large and complicating influx of out of state interest in real estate and the deep pockets that it brings with it. I say complicating with the viewpoint of a local homebuyer. Homes in southern Maine particularly, and camps like this one are being bought by out-of-staters for considerably more than asking price based on the simple idea of an “escape from the city”. This is not an issue for anyone in the real estate or building industry, but for any local who is trying to gain an edge in the market and actually purchase a nice house or a pleasant retreat, akin to the one being shown in this lovely video. They have to not only compete with the fact that properties are on the market for hours, but also pay 20-60k over asking price. It is lamentable. What should concern everyone who is in this industry is when the influx ceases. (The bubble pops) I’m not saying it will happen or when it happens, but I believe that once the dust settles folks “from away” will realize the simple lack of cultural diversity that they had become used to, and also the fundamental lack of population base that through the simple lack of taxpayers doesn’t allow their municipal government to perform tasks that they are accustomed to, I.e Garbage pickup, snow removal, salting the roads regularly, maintains the roads regularly. This revelation to some will drive the building bubble down, and also the overall prices of homes in the region. These things are done in many municipalities through the state, but not so in more rural configurations. A lack of population base may not seem like as big of a deal to someone from here, but I have met many people who simply cannot fathom the fact that they might have to drive 30 minutes for a gallon of milk, or over an hour to a Home Depot. This disconnection can wear on people. Once it has worn too thin on some, and the dust has settled, I believe there will be and pronounced exodus of the, “city escapees” which will more positively influx the market for the perspective and local Maine buyer. That is my, “friggin” problem.

beautiful, I just built a hardwood stair case in Rockwood (right next to boat launch ) , Maine in October . Stayed the night at Chalet Moosehead in Greenville. Beautiful country up there. Spent a week at "The Birches" in Rockwood in July! Awesome property you are showing ! Also, hope you fellas made in out , the snow looked deep enough to get stuck ! Lol
6:30 Need a "Snow Cat" to get up there in this weather, ha ha. That was some pretty intense 4 wheeling! We don't get any snow like that down here, of course it doesn't stop about 50% of all vehicles on the road, being 4 wheel drive Jeeps, SUV's or Trucks. Your Tundra pays its rent up there in a foot of snow, so nice to see one in its element, not just blocking my view in traffic.
Concerning the forested areas around the cabin . . . some significant event must have happened some time ago, because all the trees seem to be of the same age and quite young. There is a notable scarcity of old large trees. Perhaps a fire swept through the area, or it was heavily harvested. The forestry management people in that area should have some information. The time frame of the event can be almost pinpointed by taking a few trees and counting the rings to determine how old they are. Each ring equals one year. Then subtract those years and you'll have a pretty good idea as to when that 'significant event' took place. Beautiful Maine cabin!
Steven, aerial photos do not show what is on the ground. There are a lot of large maple trees on this property. The mountain top is older growth spruce/fir. Zoom in on a Google Earth photo and you will see the shadows of the large deciduous trees on the southern slope of this property.
we just sold our camp, that is very similar in dec. 2020 in hudson, Me. 139,900. 28x 24 3bdrm 1bath electric w 15+ aces on the brook. Congratulations, God bless all
Thank-you for the ride up, it hasn't changed a bit along the moose river. no traffic. had to laugh at the little spruce by the drive in, happens on woodlots hate to cut them. total dearth of traffic. Cabins designed perfect, I know banks prefer gas stoves for heat ... but The area has this excitement about it, no where else on earth, so wide open yet cozy. Locals always mention 'ice out', (ask how their winter was) not that a bad ice out would bother this camp.
Every year my kin n i come up to the same set of cabins (down behind red dinner, think its mama bears) to hunt. From the knox county area. While we have some of the same things in my neck of the woods, theres something special up that way. I wish i could afford to move up there. Absolutely gorgeous country. Rough hard working folk but theyve been some of the nicest people ive met.
Our channel has been very fortunate to host the Faces of Maine podcast featuring Jarvis Willard. It gives a great insight into what life in the pine tree state is all about.
I was born and raised in Maine and I am back here to live again. Don't let these people think that they are in the country they are in the wilderness!! It's a whole lot more than out in The Boondocks!
That is one of the bonuses of Jackman. It is a long way from everything. It will remind you there is more to life than video games and traffic. Thanks for the comments💕
I really like the snow looks pretty sweet around there with all the snow and ice on the road, I don’t know why people don’t visit the original states more instead of traveling outside of USA
Yes, its almost heaven..in June.. of course right now there is several feet of snow and about 3 degrees outside....the good news is that it may warm up all the way to 32 when it snows!!! :)
Maine has never claimed to be for the faint of heart, we are raised to love it or leave it. Yes, it can be cold, even bitter in winter, however, the beauty and tranquility outweigh the cold.
I BELIEVE YOU WILL SELL THIS PROPERTY SOON....I WISH I HAD THAT KIND OF MONEY....YOU DEFINITELY NEED AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE....A SNOW MOBILE...AND AT LEAST ONE GOOD GUARD DOG BELGIAN MEL. ...AND DEFNITELY ABOUT 3 GUNS
Never will happen but I can dream. For some reason I'm so attracted to Maine and I never even been there. My girlfriends uncle lived in Athens Maine growing up. I wish I could live in Maine
Two questions? One I’m sure you will find stupid? Excuse me in advance, but the gates you drove through prior to property? You said something as to “closed” at times I believe? What does that mean exactly as if someone purchased and wanted as a year round residence? I may not have heard or understood correctly as why I apologized prior to question... Just wondering how that would work if someone was living behind the gates & why they would close? Again, please excuse my stupidity in question. Second and I hope not as ridiculous as in the first question, if this was to be a full time residence? The gas delivery? Is it determined by estimate in service? As if there was a snowfall that lasted longer than one would imagine, are the gas trucks able to deliver to location? You mentioned something as to the “next time” you might need a different transportation method other than truck so the concern of shortages is a question, just realized that is most likely factored in by size of tank, yes I DID have another stupid question, excuse me on both...lol. Is solar popular in area? Or is a home installed generator possible? I imagine the power goes out rather frequently with all the snowfall... again, please excuse all the inane questions. 🤷🏼♀️ Thank you, lovely video and perhaps best to call to inquire about more specific details regarding what I’m looking for, had planned on Georgia mountains in Blue Ridge, however now not exactly what I was planning as tons of construction after pandemic and nothing as remote as I had planned. Maine has always been in my mind though, although little experience out of the Portland, Freeport, Island areas... thank you again & if you might say when are the best times to reach you & do you have a site w your properties for reference before I call? Thank you! 💯🙋🏼♀️
The gate has a coded padlock. These are private roads used for access to this and other off grid cabins. The owners along the road can decide to gate them to limit traffic to owners and guests and that is not that uncommon.
Nice property, good price! Good location for me since im retired. What kind of bugs does that area have? Mosquitoes the size of condors? Ticks? Any restrictions for putting up a wood shed or garage, Solar panels, ...
All the bugs in Maine reside here:) No restrictions but permits will need to be pulled from LUPC for accessory structures. Sorry had to edit last comment was for a different property.
Sure you can change the description details such as a price change. Go to youtube studio, click on the video, and edit the details, then click save changes. Simple.

Hi Jonathan. Tune in this sunday. log cabin 190 acres. Thanks for watching.
beautiful, I just built a hardwood stair case in Rockwood (right next to boat launch ) , Maine in October . Stayed the night at Chalet Moosehead in Greenville. Beautiful country up there. Spent a week at "The Birches" in Rockwood in July! Awesome property you are showing ! Also, hope you fellas made in out , the snow looked deep enough to get stuck ! Lol
Thanks for sharing. Glad you like it and yes Phil & Pete made it out without any issues.
That was my thoughts! They made it in but did they make it out LOL!
Hi Andy. Watch our video coming out on Sunday. Log cabin on 190 acres. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for sharing.
Outstanding value! Pull the pin now
Now's the time, thanks Sentinel!
Really well done video & presentation. Enjoyed it very much. Conveys the reality of off-grid winter living with reassurance and comfort. Thank you -
Glad you enjoyed it!
If you check the drive to Sugarloaf it’s one of those “you can’t get there from here”.
Its a bit of a drive
Looks like a good spot to get away from the civil war
It is a remote place.
That's what I was thinking. Makes me homesick, I was born in Maine.
@@911preety too bad democrat yuppies moved in and ruined it same goes for VT and NH
Good Lord, can’t even watch a video about real estate. Does everything have to be about politics.
Nice
Hi Steven. Tune in this sunday. log cabin 190 acres. Thanks for watching.
I will consider this spot for retirement when my days of being Heisenberg are over
🤣
This property is beautiful,
It is.
I love the property. Was just thinking this would make a great investment. I may have to put a bid in. Glad i stumbled onto this site!!!!
Go for it!
Hi Chauncey. This Sunday we are launching a video of a log cabin on 190 acres. I think you will enjoy it. Cheers.
Beautiful location and cabin.
We agree!
I was born & 50/50 raised in Presque isle's, Mars Hill Maine. moved to Connecticut in 78 rite before the big snow storm
The COUNTY is a beautiful place.
I think I'll be moving to Maine at some point in the future. Great scenery and reasonable housing prices in comparison to other less scenic states.
Thanks for commenting. Maine does have a lot of diverse scenery.

Hi Patricia. Tune in this sunday. log cabin 190 acres. Thanks for watching.
That is an absolute beautiful property!
Thanks, glad you liked it. Very special part of Maine.,
Thank-you for the ride up, it hasn't changed a bit along the moose river. no traffic. had to laugh at the little spruce by the drive in, happens on woodlots hate to cut them. total dearth of traffic. Cabins designed perfect, I know banks prefer gas stoves for heat ... but The area has this excitement about it, no where else on earth, so wide open yet cozy. Locals always mention 'ice out', (ask how their winter was) not that a bad ice out would bother this camp.
Thanks for the comments.
You drove past my camp...heaven on earth!
Your blessed to have a place here!

Thanks for the comments Arthur.

Our channel has been very fortunate to host the Faces of Maine podcast featuring Jarvis Willard. It gives a great insight into what life in the pine tree state is all about.
Thanks for the comments.
@@lifestyleproperties you're most welcome. Give them a look sometime when you get a chance!
I was born and raised in Maine and I am back here to live again. Don't let these people think that they are in the country they are in the wilderness!! It's a whole lot more than out in The Boondocks!
Maine's landscape is almost as diverse as our opinion of what defines country, wilderness and boondocks. Thanks for your perspective.
This is gorgeous. And when I have money I'll be calling y'all!
Sounds like a plan. Thanks for watching.
Wow l would be in heaven there. I love it.Great price as well. Just awesome.

We snowmobile up there in Jackman very nice location.

First thing I’d do is replace the gas stove with a wood burning one
Good call Reg, there is a lifetime of firewood on this land
That is exceptional value, really nice place.

Lol I don't think out of staters realize how far Jackman is from anything

Thanks. The high winds that day grounded the drone soon after the pilot started. Hit one maple tree and he decided to call it a day.

I really like the snow looks pretty sweet around there with all the snow and ice on the road, I don’t know why people don’t visit the original states more instead of traveling outside of USA
Thanks for sharing this Jay.

This home and property in my area of Ohio would go for close to 1mil easy. I would absolutely love to live in Maine. Winter time is my jam.
Grab that down jacket and move on up to Maine.

Should've showed going out on the front porch from the front door.

Thanks for the comments. You are right about it selling quick, it went under contract this past week.
Stop yelling.
just a fyi, the website has it listed as a 1BR, 1Bath on top. might want to change that for better results of prospective buyers.
Thanks for noticing, changes made. Property is under contract.
That is a beautiful property, what a price!
Price is $165,000

@@kaseykasey7502 They were $772 per year.
Looks fantastic only drawback for me is the cost of propane will be going through the roof and looks to me likeEVERYTHING runs off it , for electric
We are recommending a solar project.

Never will happen but I can dream. For some reason I'm so attracted to Maine and I never even been there. My girlfriends uncle lived in Athens Maine growing up. I wish I could live in Maine

Hi Steve. Tune in this sunday. log cabin 190 acres. Thanks for watching.
What a beautiful town
My favorite property you've had
It is a cool property and location. The new owners have really improved it.
Gorgeous... incredible.
A little solar power would be nice for lighting.
It sure would. Just use generator to pump water.

Wonder if this belonged to the Martin family? You probably can't tell me. A good friend of mine from that area was living in Florida when he passed. Said he had a cabin up there.
We did not see any Martin's in the title on this property. Maybe it was nearby?
