Another thing guys, regularly service your Prius’s battery cooling fan located on side of rear right passenger seat otherwise it could be disastrous. Depending on which part of Pakistan you live in you must consider service intervals accordingly. If you live in dusty town like Multan, servicing battery cooling fan every few months can ensure battery’s longevity. Do your math and keep it clean... no water in engine bay and no spraying diesel or motor oil underneath the car can make things even better...

Exactly, if you don't service hybird fan regularly, batteries will heat up and die soon
really a very comfortable car. been using it since 3 years. no issues as such, regular service only. thats oil change and filter etc. otherwise no maintenance as such. just that whenever the hybrid battery expires, it will cost somewhere around 1 lac now a days, i haven't changed as yet. but this car is recommended. nothing beats its drive, pick and smooth comfortable seating... for any prius user the NExt car would be Prius Prime plugIn hybrid, the only updgrade that i could think, is Prius Prime.

My dad has a Prius same gen, same engine and I am the one who maintains all the cars in the family so I never changed oil before 10,000miles approximately 16,000 KM.... most Prius owners change oil accordingly and this is recommended by manufacturer. As a matter of fact most new cars require oil change 5000km and beyond. I am wondering why in Pakistan people tend to worry about oil change so much that they do it early regardless of manufacturers recommendations?? BTW Sunil bhai toyota hybrid battery comes with 150k miles warranty in USA, not sure about other countries. It is very reliable and battery can be repaired as it consist of individual cells which can be replaced partially, so these batteries can perform up to 300,000 miles almost half million KM and it still outperforms any corolla after all those miles. Just my two cents as a caretaker of Prius :)

People worry about oil change because the fuel quality is very bad in Pakistan so longer you wait to change it it can lead to different problems in your car.

Muhammad Usman Khan Bro I use toyota oem, castrol synthetic or mobile one synthetic depending on what can I get my hands on for less$. I think toyota recommends 0w-20 or 0w-30 synthetic lube, correct me if I am wrong because I always use 0w-20 which also written on engine oil filler cap.

Prius is an amazing car from engineering perspective. It had proper future tech in gen 1. I have gen2 and I love it. It has travelled 150 k km in UK amdnbattery is still perfect and I get very good average. One thing to know is that the plugs are platinum tipped which are expensive but please use manufacturer original parts and rexommended syntheti oil to keep the mechanical tip top

I always wanted this car. My both neighbors have this car, Prius & Prius Alpha. Both are reliable cars, the acceleration is impressive, instant and quick due to the electric motor. I’ve heard so much about this car over the years, unfortunately my uncle stood against my views of buying a Japanese car, I ended up buying a local 1.6 Altis. Sigh 😔 though I still love this car to this day! And would choose this car over any local cars, hoping to get the latest generation somewhere in 2019.
In my opinion Pakistani cars are better i also bought a new car few days ago first i thought of prius then corolla and ended up buying a new civic and alhamdulilah happy from my decision

i have gen 2 Prius. There is no knocking on normal fuel. Gen 3 has more issues than the previous version. Its abs and batteries are weaker with head gasket issues. But no doubt, gen 3 is attractive looking than gen 2

You are 100% true about cat converters on corolla and civics. My second cat choked few months ago on a corolla. my mechanic advised me to take the cat off and install a free flow straight pipe. Now its running very good on straight pipe free flow exhaust. Fuel quality in pakistan is not good. Also any one who own fuel injected cars, i would advice to run a fuel injector cleaner at least twice a years. Bad fuel chokes fuel injectors also and they are expensive to repair.

Owner has very good knowledge about the cars.
I only drive my 3 generation 2014/15 prius on long route . When i go from Multan to Rahim yar khan on national highway it gives 28 km/l and when i come back from Rahim yar khan to Multan on motorway it gives 32 km/l at the speed of 130 km/h

I have PRIUS SLED model 2011 imp with 32000km Reg oct 2014 with genuine LCD n multimedia + calling function steering.
Since 2014 till today i still have 21km/22km per litre n not use hioctane. Highway 17 to 22km / litre depend on driving behaviour.
Purchased 23.50k + 55k reg.
Civic/corola/vigo/axio/ciaz/prado/fortuner etc can not beat this car on highway.
Now my 2nd option 2019 prius phv/revo approx 55lac approx

90% people want to sell their hybrid cars because they found decrease in mileage after 1 or 2 years. However, they are wrong and don't know about cars how to maintain.
just you need 1 inch spacer if 5 persons and half inch spacer if 3 persons because car is not design for heavy jumps in pakistan.
Just need proper maintenance

Spark plugs are a major factor expect for fuel, for premature knock.

you are right . civic has Cat chocking problem .. and they sound so absurd ... you should also do reviews and spread more information in public in order to force Govt to improve fuel quality .
